Padma's humming was the first clue that something was happening. She swooped about, chattering anxiously, looking about for her bonded. She had a little secret kept under the bed that not even Hers knew about, but this secret was about to open itself up to the world! Robika, who was in the process of eating her lunch on her couch, looked up irritably. "What is it?" she asked grumpily, sprawling herself out more. Emanor chirped complacently, her wide throat humming together (if a bit off-tune) with Padma. However, Robika did not take the hint, instead closing her warm brown eyes against the fire. It was so warm. On a rainy day like today, it was the perfect time to just laze around beside the fire. Too bad there was nobody to cuddle with. Well... She frowned. There was her, but she couldn't possibly. It was bad enough, what she had done with the girl. She hadn't spoken to her since the Flight, though she was sorely tempted to. Had others found out about that day? Shards, if she had spoiled the innocence of a young dragon...
Padma's insistent chirping brought Robika back to the present. Irritated, the greenrider swatted at gold, who squealed in protest. Emanor muttered to herself as Robika stared the gold down. Not wasting such an opportunity, she hopped over to Robika's hand, snatched the meatroll, and ran to the far corner of the couch, her throat thrumming. Robika frowned, looking from one flitter to the other, noticing the hum for the first time.
"What is--?" she began, then stopped short. "Padma, where...?" she asked, comprehension dawning on her. The queen scolded the greenrider in a high-pitched chatter. Padma flew around Robika's head urgently once, then soared over to the direction of Robika's cot. Swearing loudly, Robika leaped up, her meal forgotten and now well into the stomach of Emanor. Heaving, she pushed the cot carefully, revealing nineteen wiggling flitter eggs curled in a little nest of old furs-- including a queen egg. Robika groaned. "Kmarath," she said aloud, "Emanor--"
I'm on it, the green replied in amusement. Broadcasting throughout the Weyr, Kmarath announced, Attention, a flitter clutch is hatching in Robika's weyr, she said very clearly. If anyone is interested, you must hurry. Bring food.
Robika stared down at the eggs. Didn't Padma mate with a brown? The clutch was absolutely huge for a brown! Watching them warily, she looked over at the door, almost half-hoping for Myra to show up, but at the same time hoping that she didn't. Well, regardless, people would have to show up-- she didn't want all these little flitters to go wild...

Bleeding Emotions Clutch
Pride Egg – By far the largest egg in the clutch, the Pride Egg is easily distinguishable as a queen. Almost twice as large as the Rage Egg, it is clear that this will be one large flitter. The unborn queen seems to realize this as well; the egg has an air of a prideful holder’s daughter, confident in her heritage and smug as she shows the world that she, unlike everyone else, is important. The shell of this egg is a smooth orange-gold, catching the light in a way to make itself sparkle radiantly. It is in the center of the clutch, surrounded by her humble siblings, the ones that are obviously not as great as she is destined to be.
Hope Egg – Settled in the outer ring of eggs lies the Hope Egg, small in size, but sweet in spirit. It is a soft shade of yellow, which may be confusing to the average person—yet yellow does not necessarily equal gold. Neither does it carry the familiar shine that most gold eggs possess. It is speckled lightly with brown, making the texture look like it should feel mildly like sandpaper. However, if one is lucky enough to touch it, they will be pleasantly surprised to feel that it is just as smooth as the other eggs. This egg is reassuring, granting peace of mind to any who feel any attachment to it.
Depression Egg – There is no joy to be felt when one looks upon this gloomy little egg. It is the furthest away from the queenly core of the clutch, brooding on the outer edge of the ring of small eggs. It is small, but it is certainly not the smallest of the clutch. In fact, it is larger than a good portion of the eggs in that last outer ring. Nonetheless, it doesn’t affect the feeling of this egg. Stark unhappiness is the only emotion that this egg shows. The color matches it appropriately; it is a solid, marless black, lacking of shine and intrigue.
Rage Egg – The second largest of the clutch, the Rage Egg still manages to be almost twice as small as its queen sister. Perhaps it is this humiliating size that causes this egg to cast off its angry vibes, or perhaps it is a different reason altogether. Whatever it is, it makes this egg appear to be an unpleasant one to any who looks upon it. Its vivid, blood-red shell practically burns into anyone’s senses, and the lines that are scratched into the surface are of an even deeper red. The color alone is enough to make anyone look away, but the feeling that pervades into the area surrounding it repels everyone, and even the other eggs in the inner circle of large eggs stay a good distance away from it.
Affection Egg – A warm tickle-me-pink, this pleasant little egg is an automatic love to look upon. Red dots are spread evenly along the shell, making it look oddly cute and childish. It possesses an odd shine that not all eggs possess, and it is smooth to the touch. Perhaps, in some ways, it is a perfect egg. It even sends out pleasant emotions to people, as if it can’t wait to hatch and just give the world its love. But for now, it remains encased in the small, sweet-colored shell, dreaming of the day where it can emerge free and spread joy throughout the world.
Greed Egg – Another small egg, the Greed Egg is one that is hard to miss. Even though it lies in the cluster of small eggs, it is very clear what kind of creature lives inside. The feeling it exudes is harsh and unforgivable, with a desire for everything. Unlike what big eggs generally want, this little egg doesn’t long for power, but simply longs to be the best. Matching colorfully with its personality, this egg is a caustic green, one that looks acidic enough to burn through one’s skin. The shading is bright in an almost neon way, but it is unattractive. This egg is unlikely to be a favorite among most people.
Apathy Egg – Stone gray, the Apathy Egg is plain and easily overlooked. Though there must be something inside, it simply isn’t given attention, but the egg doesn’t seem to care. It doesn’t send out any particular vibes, so it attracts neither bad attention nor good. It is medium-sized, and lies with most of the other larger eggs of the clutch, adding to the idea that it is overshadowed by the larger, more impressive eggs. Once again, this doesn’t seem to be something that this egg cares about. It is perfectly content to just sit in the sand and watch the world pass it by.
Smug Egg – The feeling one might get from this egg is a feeling that oddly echoes the Pride Egg. This egg is rather pleased with itself, for unknown reasons. After all, it is rather small, and sits among the scattered small eggs of the clutch. Yet for some reason, it manages to charm people into looking at it with a hypnotic attraction. This might be due to how similar to a queen it looks. Its shell is a clean yellow shade, mottled with brown. But it is not a queen, as it would probably be displeased to hear; it lacks the famous shine that queens carry. Nevertheless, this egg still likes to revel in the fact that it is almost a queen.
Surprise Egg – This egg is among the larger of the eggs in this clutch. Sitting dangerously close to the queen egg, it lies on a tilt, surveying the world around it with a crooked gaze. It is almost comical, seeing this large egg nearly flopped on the sands. It lies against the Confusion Egg in a relaxed sort of way. The shading of this egg is the most rich of the clutch, with a white backdrop covered in swirls of bright rainbows. It is both attractive, yet startling against its rather monochromatic siblings. But this change is a welcome one; its feelings are calm and reassuring, a good coupling with the gentle rainbows of its shell.
Desire Egg – Like the Rage Egg, this egg is red. Yet unlike its ill-tempered sibling, this red is a gentler shade. It is not nearly so bright, but more like the shade of a ripe apple. Resting in the circle of large eggs, this egg is bright and happy, but its ache for the outside world is very obvious. Cracks already run in faint spiderwebs along the shell, a sign of its impatience to hatch. Also splotched along the shell are uneven sizes of pink. They almost look like they were brushed on with a sponge, messily and lazily. The egg itself may not be terribly attractive, but the welcoming feelings it emanates are favored by many who look onto this clutch.
Happiness Egg – A vibrant orange, the large Happiness Egg certainly stands out in a crowd. Emanating sheer joy at being alive, it is expected to leap into the air with happiness. Its radiance, both physically and mentally, makes everyone who looks upon it simply wish to go over to it and stroke the warm, hard shell. However, if one looks closer onto the shell, it is oddly clear that the orange is not an even shade. Some portions of the egg are lighter than the other, with the base being darker and the rounded tip being lighter. Yet these simple values only make the egg seem brighter than it is, making it even more friendly looking amongst the inner circle of large eggs.
Euphoria Egg – The mentality of this egg seems oddly reminiscent of the Happiness Egg, but this egg makes it very clear that it is very different than its larger sibling, thanks you very much. The ecstasy this egg is glowing with is almost a drugged kind of happiness, suggesting a kind of happiness that it got by taking a special powder or some sort. Nonetheless, the cheerfulness is contagious. Everyone wants to smile when they admire the bright, electric blue shell.
Boredom Egg – A drab gray color of egg, this small egg sits in the outermost ring. Even though it is among its brightly colored siblings, it is not swayed by the colors. It sits in a grumpy, bored way. There is simply no possible way to make this egg enjoy itself with the others. Its lack of shine also acts as a repellent to people; they tend to simply not be interested in this little egg. And the egg doesn’t care about that, of course! It is perfectly used to sitting among everyone. There is nothing that anyone can do to make it have fun!
Annoyance Egg – One of the larger eggs of the clutch, it lies with the other large eggs in the ring. However, it is among the smaller of that first inner circle, so this is a possible reason to explain the uneasy vibe it gives out. This egg is a solid, metallic black shade, and when coupled with its feelings, it seems to be an egg that one does not want to mess with. Yet it isn’t an evil egg, nor one that will attack on will. It is just a grump, but there is always room for someone to redeem itself in its eyes. If someone is willing to try, this irritable egg may very well find itself a friend.
Confusion Egg – At first glance, this egg looks like a muddy green-brown shade, and very unattractive to the eye. But if one looks at it for more than a moment, they might realize that this egg is just like a glob of mixed paint: Hints of every color in the rainbow lie in messy swirls along the shell, and it looks as though the colors are all combined into this messy shade. This small egg seems confused by this, wondering which color it truly is. So muddled is the shade that this egg doesn’t seem to know what to think, and concentrates on its own confusion, never on the people that look upon it.
Rapture Egg – This egg is simply captivating. It is a light blue, so light that it almost looks white. But not only that: the light that shines on it also makes gleam perfectly. Petite and shining, this egg is the definition of beauty, and a definite favorite among many. A cynic would probably suggest that this egg will act selfish and spoiled, but the feelings it emanates seem to suggest the opposite. Loving, gentle, and shy, this egg seems to defy every negative statement thrown against it. There is just nothing bad to say about this egg in any way.
Suffering Egg – A deep red shade, the Suffering Egg almost seems to play up its misery in hopes of gaining attention. This small egg sends off a mixture of sorrow and pain into the mind of anyone who gives it any sort of attention. The dramatics may be for show, but what if something is truly wrong with it? Well, this will be a secret to this egg alone, for now. It lies beside the Affection Egg, a stark contrast to its sibling’s happiness. It sends out a need for attention to everyone, wanting to be held—too bad that the clutchmother will allow no such nonsense.
Fear Egg – Not too big nor too small, the Fear Egg should have no reason to be scared… but, for some reason, it is. This terrified egg gives off the feeling that it is much smaller than it truly is, so it fits right in with the eggs in the outer circle. Its shell is a soft shade of lavender, silky smooth, but its one flaw is very obvious. A long crack runs down the shell vertically from where it had knocked into another egg when it had been shifted around. Fortunately, the crack was thin enough that it didn’t kill the flitter inside, but it was certainly enough to scare it, one would suspect.
Love Egg – The warmest and most welcoming of the eggs, it is also the smallest. It is a nice pastel pink, completely smooth and clean of any kind of imperfection. It is covered with cream swirls, and the vibes it emanates are sweet and caring, no matter whom the person is. If it could, it would doubtlessly try to bond with everyone it came across, and will almost certainly have a hard time choosing a person to bond to. But everyone will get a piece of its love if the Love Egg has anything to say about it!
