Tirenth burst out of the chill of between into searing, Southern sunlight. The sharp contrast caused M'kel to shudder slightly, for it was like tossing cold water on one's face. As much as he loved dragon travel, that was one aspect of it that he would still rather do without. Not that he would ever trade traveling between for flying straight.
The bronze circled over the sparkling cove, gradually sinking through the uplifting thermals. M'kel eagerly peered down at the beach and jungle. Although the shoreline may have shifted somewhat, the cove was still mostly recognizable for how it had been last time he'd visited it. The calm waters, protected from the fury of the open seas, sloshed invitingly against the golden sand. Redfruit would be ripe this time of year, which was why M'kel always attached a sack or two to Tirenth's riding leathers. It would be nice to add some sweetness to the meals at the Weyr.
"Here we are!" the dragonrider called over his shoulder. Tirenth bugled happily, aiming to settle in the sand. Suddenly, he swerved, plunging into the shallow waters of the bay instead. He flapped his wings briefly in the water, sending waves of water splashing over his back, then folded them casually to his back.
The water's the same too, he told M'kel smugly. The bronzerider was frozen for a moment, still stunned by his dragon's actions. Finally, he burst out in laughter, sliding down Tirenth's back and landing in the water.
"You got my wherhide jacket wet!" he complained, slapping the bronze's side affectionately before sloshing his way to shore. "Nuisance." Tirenth merely rumbled in delight, settling deeper into the water.

Seath burst from between, the cool air around him forming a slight vapor that quickly dissipated as the hot SOuthern sun beat down upon him and his two riders. He bugled loudly as he tucked his wings slightly to begin the descent to the beach.
L'kas looked around with a wide smile, it definately was very nice cove and some what familiar. He shrugged and looked over his shoulder at his passenger and grinned. Seath angled his descent and landed smoothly in the shallows The water is nice mine he almost cooed with delight. L'kas' brown flit appeared over head then dived into the water, chittering happily to himself.

Elkie emerged from /between/ on Seath, and she gave a whoop of excitement. That was only her second time /between/, and she found it more amazing than frightening. It was strange to have no feeling around her, no sense of having Seath beneath her, but it was still too much of an amazing feeling to be scared by it.
"Sure! I can definitely perform for you guys sometime!" she replied cheerfully to his earlier statement. "Seath really likes dancing?" she asked eagerly. Maybe if Seath would oblige, she -would- dance, maybe even with L'kas' permission... not that she'd tell him her plan to jump off Seath, of course...
When they landed, she looked down at the water, immediately beginning to unstrap herself. "Does Seath like swimming?" she asked, curiously, seeing how the brown flitter apparentally did.

L'kas laughed and nodded "Oh loves to watch dancing, sometimes he'll even hum along. Seath rumbled and settled lower in the water so that his passengers could dismount I would like to see a dance mine and music is so nice. the bronze told his rider enthusiastically. L'kas only laughed louder, slapping his dragon's neck affectionately "He has even asked for you to please dance for him," he explained before she thought he was going insane.
He tilted his head and looked over his shoulder for a moments before slipping down into the water that came up to his knees "Seath loves to swim, he could spend days in the water if I would let him," he told her, grinning as Cael his brown firelizard flew up to land on Seath's neck, trilling inquisitively to Elkie.

Keldara was all grins when Tirenth burst out of /between/. Of course, the cold, feeling-less "dimension" of it surprised her, but she felt as if she'd experienced something that other folk hadn't in so long, it felt exhilirating. Her eyes glanced over the bronze's shoulder as he glided to the beach...then swerved, landing in the water. She laughed as water splashed over her, a result from a flap of the bronze's wings, and quickly pushed her now wet hair out of her face.
The candidate quickly slipped off the bronze's back, making a splash as she landed in the water. She nodded to Tirenth in thanks for the rider, then walked to the store "Thanks for the ride, M'kel," she said to the bronzerider, a ways away from him. She stretched once away from wet sand, then sat down, grabbed a twig, and started to draw.

Elkie giggled. "Humming? You hum, Seath? Singing?" she asked in quick succession, slipping into the water. She laughed, wanting to just roll around in the warm water. But no... She had bigger fish to fry.
"Seath, darling," she asked, unable to help herself after saying he wanted to watch her dance. "If you help me, we could dance right now. Would that be possible?" She asked him innocently. She would warn him about the falling off part later... Look over at L'kas, she grinned. "I'm an aerial dancer, you see. Trapeze is my thing, but I wanted to try dancing on a dragon, to see if I got the same feeling."
She looked down at Cael, her blue eyes twinkling. "And who is this handsome fellow?" Elkie asked L'kas reaching out to the little brown to scratch his eyeridges.

"That would be Cael. He is a sweet little pest, but great help when washing Seath," he said with a grin then tilt of his head as he considered what she was saying. Cael nearly purred as he leaned into the scratching, his eyes closing in delight. "I've heard of areial dancing, but never had the privilege of seeing it in person," he said as he leaned against Seath's foreleg, lazily crossing his arms as he thought.
Seath turned his head and very gently nudged Elkie with the blunt tip of his muzzle, humming a short burst to prove to her that he did indeed do such a thing I would like to help her mine. I want to see what kind of dance she does [/i] the bronze looked at his rider with one quickly whirling blue faceted eye. L'kas hesitated only for a moment long before chuckling. "Well since Seath is so determined to help you I really can't turn the two of you down now can I?" he said with a slow shake of his head and a shrug of mock exasperation. "What do you need?" he asked as he took his soaked shirt off, tucking it into a sack hanging from Seath's straps.

"He's so soft!" Elkie remarked as she scratched Cael. "And I'm sure he's not as pesty as you make him sound," she added with a patient expression. "Aren't ya, little guy?" she asked him in a coo, finally detaching herself.
She giggled at Seath's "singing." "Well, I'll be a wherry-hen!" she announced. "You really can sing! Lovely voice, too!" she added with a wink to the bronze.
Elkie looked up brightly. Start out with aerial dancing, warn the bronze, then drop, she thought, absolutely excited. Amazing plotting! she thought wickedly.
"Well, I'll need two strands of rope, but a strong vine might do, and a bar of wood, which I'm sure we can find here," she told L'kas with a bright smile. She paused, and looked up. "And maybe a third, long piece of vine or rope for a safety strap."

Myra felt a rush of excitement and joy flood over her, and it translated into a wide grin on her face. Some found it frightening to be circling higher, higher above the world, with nothing between her and the deadly pull of gravity but the back of a dragon. Myra, however, found it exhilarating, and found that it made her feel more full of life than she ever had before. She could spend all day in the sky, wheeling through the air like a…oh, there just wasn’t anything she could think of worthy of comparing to a dragon! Dragons were in a class of their own.
She enjoyed flying much more than what awaited her in moments: between. She loved the feel of the dragon beneath her, of warmth of the sun, the sight of Pern so far below, the ability to see so far in every direction! She wasn’t scared of between, for it had a feeling of safety to it. Nothing could harm her there; there was nothing to fear between, except for [I[between[/I] itself. She shuddered slightly at the thought of being trapped there for eternity. Yet all the same, she didn’t mind it, but much preferred flying.
The world suddenly disappeared from sight, as though she had gone blind. But she had also gone deaf, for she could no longer hear the sound of the dragon’s beating wings, of the wind rushing past. Nor could she feel, neither the dragon nor herself nor Keldara or M’kel. It was frightening the first time, to be left devoid of all sensation, and she supposed it was unnerving the second, although she was not afraid. But she barely had time to think these thoughts before between was gone, and all was back to normal.
She drew in her breath sharply, but it was an exclamation of delight. The weyr had disappeared, to be replaced by what she supposed must be the cove. And oh, it was beautiful! Farther down, waves threw themselves against the rocks with a heave of energy, casting frothy white water into the air. Yet it was clear to see the place M’kel had intended for them, because it was so vastly different than the lovely, yet dangerous-looking rocky coves she could see further down. It had a peaceful appearance, for the crashing waves subsided into gentle swells, meeting the glistening sand placidly.
The wind rushed through Myra’s short black hair as the dragon descended, an excited smile plastered on her face. How could one not be happy when riding a dragon? Myr instinctively gripped Tirenth with her knees and legs as he suddenly veered, sending them all crashing into the shallow water. The ocean rose up, sending foaming white water cascading over her tunic and pants. But Myra didn’t mind, and rather, she couldn’t suppress a hearty laugh. She was glad that M’kel and Keldara laughed as well. Easily, the tall girl swung herself off of Tirenth’s now wet back, water rushing into her boots and onto her pants as she met the sea below. Feeling heavy with her clothes bogged down so, she sloshed her way through the water toward the shore.

As M'kel reached the shore, he peeled off the water heavy jacket, carrying it to a tree to hang in its branches. He then proceeded to remove other soaking layers, including his shirt and boots, and hang all of these in the tree also. Well, the boots were actually propped between the branch and the trunk, but at least they'd be exposed to a drying breeze. He shook his head, grinning, for Tirenth had marooned them all for some time. They couldn't possibly go between in wet clothing, and he wasn't going to have his jacket ruined by carrying it through that frozen place! The rider couldn't help but wonder if it had been part of his dragon's plan in order to secure a longer stay at the cove.
Tirenth rumbled quite innocently, thrashing his wings again. Are you going to stand there analyzing my motives all day, or will you come and give me a bath already? M'kel brushed at his wet pants, pretending he couldn't hear. You're already wet! This was followed by a haughty, expectant draconic snort, and the whirling eyes fixed on his rider.
Sighing, the dragonrider turned to gaze at the sparkling cove. Seath had followed Tirenth's example, plunging into the inviting waters. L'kas was chatting it up pretty determinedly with the girl he'd brought, and M'kel chuckled at the intents they shared, despite their competitive relationship.
Keldara had sloshed her way to shore as well, thanking the rider as she seated herself in the sand. He nodded at her thanks, then watched as she began to trace images in the sand with a twig. Raising a brow, M'kel made his way over to her, his feet already coated in clinging particulate. The other girl, Myra, had also made it to shore by now, though she remained silent.
Glancing once more at the enviable example set by a talkative L'kas, M'kel gestured at his wet clothing hanging in the tree. "If you have anything you'd like dried, that'd be the place to hang it. Personally, I'm about to get wet again. The almighty Tirenth has requested a favour in return for his transport of us to the cove." He paused, smiling devilishly. "Ever bathed a dragon before?"
