L'kas grinned and followed her to the tree line, picking up his boots on his way. He paused to drape the riding straps and the sacks across a branch so that they would dry along with his boots. He looked at Elkie and tilted his head "What kind of wood would work best?" he asked, looking around.
Cael allowed his eyes to drift shut as he enjoyed the attention he was getting. L'kas smiled "I think you made a new friend," he said, nodding toward the brown fire lizard.

A loud splash followed by laughter greeted the dragonrider's ears when he lifted his head out of the water for air. He paused, turning in the water to view the candidates sloshing after him. Actually, there was only one candidate visible, and the bronzerider's breath caught for a moment, but Keldara was merely sitting in the water at the time, having momentarily been knocked back by waves. The grin on her face reassured that she hadn't been injured, and M'kel noted that Myra was gaining on him.
However, before he could dive back in for the last few strokes to Tirenth's side, another call met his ears. M'kel paused, glancing out at the green dragon drifting in deeper waters. Robika was struggling in vain to clamber onto the slippery back, and her dragon seemed far too amused by the efforts to be of any help. The bronzerider doubted that he'd be much more assistance, being of a rather...shorter stature, but he decided to give it a try. "Tirenth!" he hollered, spitting out sea water when it splashed in his face just then. That was unpleasant. Your tail!
Familiar with this old trick, the bronze immediately swung his tail through the water around his side, causing a mini wave to surge towards the shore. M'kel was nearly caught in its pull, but grasped the end of Tirenth's forked tail just in time. As quickly as Tirenth had swung it towards his rider, the dragon now swung his tail out to sea, propelling M'kel with it. The dragonrider, with the boost, made it quickly to Kmarath's side, laughing all the while before sinking under the ocean's surface, having released his grip.
M'kel kicked up once more, grasping one of Kmarath's wing joints to keep himself above water without treading. "D'you need a boost up?" he called to Robika over the crashing of the surf. That would be about the most help he could offer, without cutting the straps loose. He wasn't the nimblest Pernese, after all. Tirenth! Tell this silly green to get closer to shore for her rider's sake.
The bronze was lazily watching the approach of his other two bathers and twitched at the mental request. I can't do that! he nearly gasped. M'kel's mental glare caused Tirenth to grumble, but he swiveled his head to gaze at Kmarath nonetheless. Mine wonders if you would like to come closer to shore, so that we can share the extra hands for our baths. We can swim after...?

Elkie examined any fallen branches- they would be easiest. She didn't want to knock down a tree, nor did she have the means to do so. "What I need," she said, her dark eyebrows contracting in concentration, "is something sturdy. Not thin, because I could break it. But not thick, because I need to be able to maneuver around on it," she said slowly, picking up a long branch, peering at it. "Can't be brittle, but not too bendy. Stiff would be best, but not the crumbly kind. You know what I mean?" she asked, giving him an estimating look with her large eyes.
She tore her eyes away from him, and leaned over to look at a long stick. After a moment's examination, she lifted it up, then shook her head. "This one is too bendy," Elkie told him, showing the slight bend it did.
--
Robika looked over at M'kel, and let out an exaggerated groan. "Yes, yes, that would be helpful," she told him, still unable to pull herself up. Loose strands of wet hair fell down by her face. She was quite grumpy looking by now.
I must give Mine her workout first! Kmarath told the bronze mischievously. She paused. But I would -love- an extra hand in a bath! I like baths, she added, looking down at Robika. Amused, she splashed her rider with her tail.
"Like heck I need a workout!" she said loudly before yelping as the water splashed at her face, forgetting that some would not have just known what Kmarath had said.

Struggling forward, Keldara was able to stop her laughter enough to try to trudge through the water. But Tirenth's movements created a ginormous wave to crash over her. In a moment she was pulled under and pushed away from the shore to deeper water. Not afraid in the least, the candidate allowed the wave to calm slightly before kicking back up to the surface with a laugh. She coughed once, then stretched and glanced over to the bronze (who know was not very far from her) only to see that the bronzerider was not near him. Confused, she twisted around to see him talking with the greenrider.
"Oh," she said quietly and chided herself. But the candidate froze when she felt something rub against her leg. She looked down and grinned as she saw a familiar gray shape swim around her legs twice before zooming towards M'kel (the water was deep enough for her). Keldara glanced at Tirenth to see if he had seen the dolphin, and gave him a slight mischevious look to warn him not to say anything in case he had.
Alphi snuck up on the bronzerider, without touching, and waited patiently. When he seemed to pause in his tail with the other dragonrider, the dolphin butted his legs with her snout and backed up before swimming easily back over to Keldara, who was trying her hardest not to laugh as she kept her head above water.
(ooc: was it okay to bring Alphi in? If not, I can take her out, if you want. Just making sure.)

L'kas arched an eyebrow slightly as he listened to Elkie's explanation. He frowned slightly as he nodded slowly "I think I understand what you mean," he said as he to began to search through the fallen branches for something that fit her description.
He tossed a few away after determining that they were not what was need. He finally found one that he thought might work and held it up for her inspection.
Seath rumbled with laughter as he watched the whole scene with Kmarath and her rider.

((lol, I don't really know how Alphi would happen to find Keldara in some random cove down the Southern coast, but stranger things have happened))
Breathing deeply after the exertion, M'kel nodded at Robika's agreement. He maintained his grip on Kmarath's wing joint, grasping the greenrider around the waist with his free arm to push her up. The bronzerider kicked furiously to aid in propelling her upwards, for he wasn't the strongest man on Pern (at all), and heaved with all of his might. He hoped that she'd be pushed high enough to grasp at Kmarath's neck ridges, or at least the riding straps.
"There you go!" he cried, grinning up at Robika. As the dragonrider sloshed back down into the water after his attempt, an unexpected bump against his leg caused him to lose his grip on the wing joint. M'kel gasped, sinking under the surface in his surprise. His eyes stung in the salt water, but a flash of grey was visible in the moment of being underwater. Kicking his way to the surface once more, the bronzerider coughed, taking deep breaths, and scanned the surface of the ocean. What was that?!
Keldara's laughter reached his ears, and the dragonrider turned in surprise. He wondered if she was merely amused by his and Robika's antics, but then a glimmer of memory surfaced. That grey colour, and Keldara...her dolphin? "Was that Alphi?" he called, running his hand back through his dripping hair to pull it away from his face.
Fine! I shall wash myself, an indignant Tirenth interjected. Immediately, the great bronze straightened his limbs, rising more out of the water. His mighty wings unfolded from his back, sinking beneath the ocean water. Finally, they began to flap, splashing great torrents of water over himself and anyone near.
Even over by Kmarath, M'kel was pelted by the intermittent drenchings. He was laughing, though shielding his face from the stinging stuff. "You great oaf!" he hollered, attempting to duck behind Kmarath. "Are you really going to take that, Kmarath? Seath?" M'kel cried in challenge. "Tirenth could use deflating."

((Heh, looks like I missed a post somehow. XX Anyway, I’ll just make up for it with one that covers both. xP))
Myra couldn’t help but drop what she was doing (which was, at the moment, swimming) to watch in awe as M’kel grabbed on to his dragon’s tail, then surged through the water and air as Tirenth whipped his tail, M’kel attached, toward Robika and Kmarath. It really was amazing, she thought, to see the two working together so! It made her think about what it was to be a dragonrider, to be a permanent team with a wonderful dragon. You could do anything together, and do it better, but there was much to learn. Yes, she had a great deal indeed to learn from M’kel, his Tirenth, and all dragonriders.
While she had been swimming at the time, Myra had had her attention drawn when a wave crashed over her very unexpectedly, too suddenly and too large to be a natural one. No, it was not, for it had clearly been caused by what Tirenth and M’kel were doing.
Myra was very near to Tirenth, but she wondered if she should go to the dragon, or not. Fascinating though it was, M’kel’s trip on Tirenth’s tail had sent him off towards Kmarath, leaving Myra wondering if she was still going to bathe the dragon. She could hear M’kel asking if Robika wanted a boost, followed by a statement from Robika about…needing a workout? That left Myra feeling very confused indeed, and she shook her head in an effort to clear the water that must be in her ears away. Unfortunately, she was already treading water somewhat precariously in the ocean, and the sudden movement only forced her head under. Whereupon she found herself face to face with…a dolphin?!
This day was getting stranger by the minute! The sleek grey creature swam off as quickly as it had appeared, and, with a thrust of her arms, Myra brought her head back above water to see where it had gone. Apparently the creature was friendly with Keldara, because it kept returning to her. Ah, well, Myra had heard something about Keldara…and dolphins…but she couldn’t remember exactly what. Myra made it a habit not to listen to the gossip of the female candidates.
Her guess was confirmed by M’kel’s questioning of Keldara. Alphi? The dolphin’s name, perhaps. Myra always had enjoyed being around animals, and she expected that dolphins were just as wonderful. Although, Myra did prefer to be somewhere where there was something solid beneath her feet or body, rather than liquid where she had to somehow manage to keep her body right side up. And given the size of her body, that could be tricky.
And of course, as it if wasn’t hard enough already, keeping her position was made ten times harder when an irritated Tirenth began pounding the water with his wings, sending water cascading over her head. Myra found herself forced under, but she held her breath as she was sent tumbling. Instinctively, she drew in her arms and legs to avoid having them be smashed against a rock, or, more likely, given the absence of rocks, a dragon, person, or the ocean floor. But she soon found that there was tan, sandy ground beneath her, and she reached for it with arms and legs alike. Her legs met it first, and she straightened her body, hauling herself out of the water and taking in a lungful of welcome sea air. Standing in the shallows, she began to chuckle, although she wasn’t sure why exactly herself. Well, maybe just because she was…happy.

Elkie bent down to look at more branches, and was annoyed to see that there were very few long enough to make a trapeze. With one that did look long enough, she was suspicious. To test it out, she snapped it with no problems. Discarding the two pieces over her shoulder, she turned back to face L'kas.
Curious, she picked up the branch in both hands. Seemed long enough, wasn't crumbly or bendy. It's only flaw was that it looked a bit thick, but not so thick that it would stop her from dancing. Nodding in approval, she grinned. "Excellent!" she announced, sliding the branch under her arm. "Let's go put it together!"
With that, she nimbly stepped over the bushes and branches and propelled herself forward through the sand back to the beach. She turned, making sure L'kas wasn't getting lost.
--
Robika looked down at M'kel, and proceeded to kick upwards to aid him in this endeavor. Finally, close to one of Kmarath's neck ridges, she reached, only to discover her arms were too short. Groaning, she grabbed the saddle, using the short arms to her advantage- more muscle! She pushed herself up with two arms, gritting her teeth, and finally grabbed the elusive neck ridge.
Whooping with triumph, she gave a thumbs-up to M'kel. "Thank you for that!" she said, and proceeded to begin undoing the straps. However, she paused for a moment at M'kel's exclamation.
"Did a big mean fish just attack you?" she asked with a grin, not knowing what an Alphi was, so she just took it to be some sort of mysterious sea monster. Looking down at M'kel, she slid onto her stomach to not strain her neck. It was then that Tirenth decided to spray. Yelling out a string of curses, she covered her eyes, and instinctually grabbed at Kmarath's neck ridges again. But she laughed.
Yes, that was not very nice, Tirenth! I am someone who would like a -normal- bath, Kmarath told the bronze. She turned her multi-faceted eyes to M'kel. That sounds like a good idea, she replied mischievously.
Before Robika could protest or get off, Kmarath lowered her head to deliver a headbutt to the bronze. The greenrider was yelping all the way, until finally, Kmarath made an abrupt halt as she came into contact, and Robika went flying over the bronze into the water, cursing the whole time she was in the air. But she had the sense to protect herself from a bellyflop, which she was relieved of, for she it the water with a sharp -smack- anyway.
She resurfaced, rolling her eyes. "Humans were not made to fly," she announced after a moment. "This is why we have dragons." Swimming back over to Kmarath, she slid the loosened saddle off of the green, giving her an amused slap on her hide, and swam it back to shore, needing a brief break from her "flight."

(Maybe, dolphin instinct? Lol.)
Keldara laughed. "Yeah, that was Alphi," she called back to the bronze. Kicking her legs to keep her head above water, she saw Alphi break the surface and squeak loudly in amusement. "Standing" on her tail, the dolphin arched her back and slipped back into the water as the candidate just laughed.
A sudden wave broke over her, crashing down and forcing her underwater again. Startled, she blinked her eyes to see herself staring right at the dolphin. Alphi squeaked, which underwater sounded very odd, and turned around. Grinning, Keldara quickly grabbed onto her back fin. The dolphin immediately swam away from the slightly annoyed bronze dragon until she was out of range of hard waves.
Alphia surfaced and Keldara took a gulp of air. She whiped the salt water from her face, still holding onto the fin, and glanced to Alphi, who was giving her a mischevious grin. Raising an eyebrow, the candidate suddenly realized what she wanted to do. "Well...hey, why not," she agreed. The dolphin squeaked happily as Kel took a deep breath before they plunged underwater.
Swimming fast, the dolphin dodged Tirenth, around Kmarath, and shot upwards. They left the surface of water, very well, and Keldara couldn't help but grin as the seemed suspended in the air. Then Alphi twisted in the air, Keldara doing so as well for she was still holding onto her fin, before they went down into the water again.
Keldara let go of the dolphin's fin and surfaced again, laughing. She swam to the shore until she was waist deep and stretched before trudging up a little more and sitting down. Alphi, in water just deep enough for her, watched the two dragons in the sidelines, intruiged at their antics.
((How am I gonna get Kerji here?))

L'kas grinned and tossed the branch he was holding over his shoulder as he followed her out of the brush "So how do we put it together?" he asked with a tilt of his head, arching an eyebrow in his curiosity.
Seath trumpeted in surprise as he was suddenly splashed by Tirenth's waves. He rumbled, more then willing to start splashing in return. He swung his tail up near the surface of the water and sent a wave of his own toward the other bronze as the green went to headbutt him.
