Representatives from every Crafthall in the Southern Continent have come to display their wares. Bargaining is a necessity, for Crafters are apt to price items above their market value (due to their pride in the workmanship, of course). Hired strongmen are positioned at every other stall to dissuade thievery. The Tannercraft, especially, are present in abundance, for they know that dragonriders will be present and are eager to profit from the Weyr's need for wherhide.
Purchases will require the use of Marks earned through Member activity. Please see the thread titled 'Price Listing of Gather Items' to determine item costs.

Skye looked around herself, frowning as she was bumped into from behind. She pinned the offending party with a glare and sniff before turning back to her observation of the stalls. She sighed, the Tanner Craft stalls were so busy, but she really needed new pair of gloves and a new belt.
She shook her head and smoothed out the skirt of her light dove gray, form fitting dress, her rank knots in place. She liked how the dress accented her hair and her eyes, bringing attention to them and to her figure. She smiled to herself as she noted the stares from many of the men around her and winked at a couple. She had styled her hair so that it fell in ringlets about her face, and falling to rest between her shoulder blades in gentle waves. She had a sling across her chest, holding a small blue flit close to her heart where he could peek out if he wished.
She sighed again when she didn't spot who she was looking for, where the hell was M'kel anyway. She stomped her foot in agitation, the man had been avoiding her like the plague since her green's flight and she was not pleased one bit. Shard it but the Weyrwoman was a tyrant, she didn't even really like M'kel as far as Skye knew, just kept him as a ornament on her arm and probably slept around on him.
She placed her hands on her hips and pouted for a moment, well at least the man hadn't gotten her pregnant, she thought to herself. She did one more sweep of the stalls and something sparkling caught her attention. She arched a delicate eyebrow and made her way toward a small stall with jewelry. She looked over the selection, nodding as she noted the fire quality of the jewelry. She smiled as the stall worker made his greeting, thankfully not pressuring her.
A lovely jade bangle bracelet caught her attention and she picked it up gingerly, running fingertips along it. Immediately the man named a price far too outrageous for the thing.
"That is robbery good sir," she said, turning on her most charming smile "I'll give you 8 marks for it," she said. The man shook his head and asked for 12 marks. Skye offered him 9, the man asked for 11. Skye sighed and offered 10 marks "That is my finally offer good sir," she said, leaning slightly toward the man.
The stall worker was quiet for a long moment the nodded. Skye laughed and smiled brightly, handing over the marks as she slipped on the bracelet. So much for the gloves and belt, but hers were still in good enough condition.
She looked down at her little blue and smiled at him, he was healing nicely from the terrible wounds that evil bronze had inflicted upon him, but he was still weak and the verdict about whether he would fly or not was unknown still. Skye gently rubbed Lucky's eyeridges and cooed to him as she made her way through the stalls.

With a neatly done downsweep, Tirenth settled lightly onto the grassy bluff adjacent to the milling Gather crowds. It had been cleared specifically for the purpose of landing dragons (by Sitareh's demand) and was large enough for two to land and take off at a time. M'kel's hazel eyes eagerly scanned the crowded Stalls ahead, glancing briefly at the mostly empty Dancing Square. He would be spending most of his time there, later in the evening, but he wished to procure some items in the afternoon. Eagerly, he slid down Tirenth's shoulder, landing as neatly as his bronze had, and raised an arm to help Crown down. The drudge who had helped him to bathe Tirenth before had requested his aid in reaching the Gather, and the Weyrleader had gladly acquiesced. It would be no bother for him or Tirenth; one extra person was little weight for the great bronze, and M'kel had no intention of monitoring a drudge for the Gather day. Sitareh could hardly throw him out for one run-away drudge!
Besides, he thought, this girl deserved a break. After hearing her shocking tale of a less-than-happy childhood, the bronzerider couldn't help but feel a touch of compassion (rare in M'kel, I know!). And she had been labouring with such fervour in the Kitchens (or so he believed)! M'kel didn't feel such sympathy towards other drudges, not at all, but he felt that this girl was different somehow. She had vastly larger amounts of intelligence than those others; a Gather would be wasted on dimglows. And, if he so needed it, the bronzerider would have a personal servant for the rest of the day. She would certainly be grateful enough to him to offer her services.
"My, what a lovely day it is," he said with a sly wink for the girl. "Now that we've arrived at this charming Gather…" M'kel's gaze drifted back to the various stalls as his nostrils twitched at the scent of bubbly pies, "…I have a few rules, in exchange for carrying you here today." Despite his words, it was obvious that the bronzerider was eager to finish this as quickly as possible and escape to the Gather. "You are not to leave the Gather grounds. You will report to me if you have any difficulty with anyone. You will not speak of private Weyr matters, " aka anything about the Weyr, "and you will not cause problems. We'll be here until I'm ready to leave," which could be in the morning, "And I expect you to be waiting by Tirenth, for he'll send out a call to you." The bronze lashed his tail, eager to be off and basking in the sun, as well as socializing with the other dragons.
"Now!" he finished with a jovial smile and a clap to her small back, "Enjoy yourself out there! Here, this…" he fumbled in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a Mark, "…is for your dinner. Don't break the hearts of any young lads, now!" M'kel winked again, grinning broadly. "Time to find some amusement of my own." He jingled his Marks purse, glancing around before striding purposefully towards the Craft Stalls. It was time to better outfit himself for Threadfall!

Ah ha! Skye thought to herself as she spotted M'kel entering the stall area. She turned quickly to look at the goods at a tanner stall, smiling sweetly to the worker there. Lucky chirped softly at his person and Skye rubbed his eye ridges lovingly.
She looked down at the wares for sale, not really seeing them as she thought of the best way to ambush M'kel, that seemed to be the only way she could get a chance to talk to the man. She sighed to herself and turned around to look for M'kel and bumped right into him!
Now that was completely unintentional, she had wanted to run into him in a more graceful way. She immediately caught herself and looked down to Lucky, making sure the little blue was alright. Thankfully the blue was well cocooned in his little sling and the bump had only startled him.
Skye smiled and looked at M'kel "Hello, M'kel," she said sweetly, hoping that he wouldn't try to cause a scene and try to get away from her. She only wanted a moment of his time anyway, after all she could easily find a more willing partner her. She brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, still smiling sweetly.

Despite his self-assurances that he must use his Marks to procure Threadfighting equipment first, M'kel's hazel eyes were easily caught by a Stall displaying handsome belts with intricate details on the clasps. He found himself drifting towards it, entirely against his will of course, and thus he was not paying attention to who or what was directly in front of him. And it just so happened to be Skye.
Rebounding off of her with an additional jump of surprise, the Weyrleader hastily blurted, "Sorry!" before realizing who exactly he had collided with. His eyes widened, then darted immediately away. The bronzerider cleared his throat awkwardly, looking anywhere but at her, and a distinct flush rose in his cheeks.
Pixie's reaction was a strong contrast to her person's. The little green had been sleeping, curled up in his weyrhide jacket and forming a lump on his chest, when she had been startled awake by the jarring motion. Rather than screeching and clawing her person to pieces like most other flitters would have done, she peeked out of the top of the jacket, eyes whirling with interest. Obviously something exciting was happening out here! She trilled in curiousity, roving gaze scouring the surrounding crowds. This was exciting! A moment later, the lime green flitter was perched on M'kel's shoulder, taking it all in.
The bronzerider absently stroked his fire lizard, for he had already grown very fond of her, and she had a surprisingly soothing effect on him. Skye's sweet tone, which M'kel was sure held bitterness, did not soothe him in the slightest. "Hello...Skye," he replied, shifting his weight away from her as if moving to escape. "I haven't seen you..." he'd almost said 'since the Flight' "...in a while," he finished lamely. Even as he stood there, the Weyrleader was certain that he could feel Sitareh's scalding gaze on the back of his neck. He had to get out of here as quickly as possible! No bit of fun was worth that woman's wrath.

Skye smiled softly as she noted the green fire lizard that seemed to be bonded to M'kel, but she also noted his shift away from her. She sighed softly and reached up to gently scratch Lucky's eye ridges as the blue peeked out to glance around, to discover the source of the bumping around. He chirped a soft greeting to the green fire lizard, but ignored the man who seemed to have upset his person.
Skye rested her hands on her hips "M'kel, I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry how things turned out after the flight and well, I know the Weyrwoman has probably told you to avoid me," she said softly, shaking her head again. She made a face and turned slightly away from him "Don't worry M'kel, I won't cause you any more grief with that tyrannical woman, but if she ever gives you any breathing room I think you know where my weyr is," she smirked a bit at that.
"Just remember I'm not going to wait forever," she said as she turned away, waving back at him, the sun sparkling off of her new bracelet as she walked away, hips swaying with natural grace and sensuality.

The awkward meeting had finally come, the one he had dreaded ever since the Flight. M'kel had avoided Skye rather like the plague...but not because he was repulsed by her in the slightest. Quite the opposite, in fact. He had been both surprised and pleased when she had reached for him, even though Tirenth had not caught Calith. At the time, the naive young man had spared no thoughts for consequences, simply enjoying the moment. Afterward, of course, there had been consequences aplenty.
Sitareh had literally thrown his clothing from the weyr ledge...and he had slept in the Lower Caverns for a sevenday or two. Not that he minded about the location; the bronzerider had managed to charm some of the pretty kitchen workers into bringing him extra snacks. Still, M'kel was very much aware that Sitareh's favour, and Aviciath's in particular, were what determined his status in the Weyr. He had worked too long to become Weyrleader, and he couldn't risk throwing it away over a fling. However pleasurable that fling was...
M'kel listened with a pained expression as Skye turned to depart, and his darling Pixie chose just that moment to trill a cheerful and enthusiastic response to the greenrider's blue, causing M'kel to start in surprise. To this was added another twitch of surprise at Skye's comment about her weyr. He had thought that she would be done with him, after his behaviour since the Flight. It had been a bitter thought, for he had enjoyed her company...she didn't make him feel constantly on guard, like Sitareh did.
His eyes followed her swaying hips as she moved off through the crowd, for he was a singleminded young man as always. A questioning chirp from Pixie snapped M'kel out of his reverie, and he moved forward instantly, attempting to follow Skye. He wasn't as small and lithe as the woman, and it was more difficult for him to manouveur amongst the swirling crowd. "Skye! Wait!" he cried, deciding on a daring move and not caring whether or not Sitareh could see him. He caught up to her and leaned in, his rich tones full of mischievousness. "I'll save a dance for you tonight...how would you like that?" Oh, pompous, lordly M'kel. Of course every woman would immediately swoon at such an offer, forgetting all wrongs.

Skye paused as M'kel called out to her and Lucky chirped questioningly at this. He peered out of the sling again to regard the man and his green quietly. Skye arched an eyebrow and listened to M'kel's words a slow smile curving her full lips.
She regarded him for a long moment, her emerald green eyes sparkling. Sighing softly she reached out and rested her hand on his arm lightly. "I would be honored to have a dance with you M'kel," she said with a warm smile. She also knew that the moment Sitareh snapped her fingers he would ignore her again, but she liked the bronze rider.
Skye grinned and laughed softly "And perhaps I will share a glass of wine with you after the dace," she said teasingly, still allowing her hand to rest on his arm until he pulled it free. Lucky chirped softly and placed his front feet on the edge of the sling, watching everything curiously.

Pixie chittered merrily at the blue flit, her tail entwined around M'kel's neck, though she held on loosely through the jarring movement of his struggle through the crowd. She tilted her head to the side, wondering why her blue brother was not out where he could see things better. The little green's warbling grew louder and louder, her excitement building as she sensed the excitement in her person.
M'kel made a mental note that he'd have to be more careful with dear Pixie around, for she was not as practiced as Tirenth was at trying not to reveal the bronzerider's emotions. For he was feeling more excited; his attempt had worked! This, of course, was the last thing this Weyrleader's inflated head needed, for it had proved to him once again that a flirty wink and word would right all wrongs with women. How naive he was!
Despite the fact that he had experienced far more with her, the touch on his harm still created a tingle in M'kel's spine, and his smile widened. The bronzerider was convinced that all reparations had been made, and that this lovely greenrider was his once again, if he so chose. Now that he thought about it, the Gather did present certain opportunities, for there were many people around and it was easy to disappear...
At her mention of wine after the dance, it was confirmed for the Weyrleader that her mind was following a similar path to his. In response, he chose his most suave move, shifting slightly so that her hand would drop from his arm. However, after allowing just enough time for Skye to think that he was pulling away, M'kel caught her falling hand and winked. "I would like that, very much..." He glanced around briefly, feeling the hair rise on the back of his neck again. "When it is darker...yes...I must do some shopping first. Prepare for Threadfall and all," he chuckled awkwardly. "I'll see you later, then." His voice was smooth and sultry, and his hazel eyes danced with amusement as he began to slip away, over to the nearest Tanner Stall.

Skye watches M'kel retreat with a slight smirk, shaking her head. She could understand his fear of the weyrwoman she supposed, but still it was frustrating that she had such a hold over the young man. She sighed and turned to look over the stalls, her thoughts already turning to the night ahead.
She would enjoy getting to dance with M'kel and the shared glass of wine after. She smiled at the thought and began to hum to herself as she worked her way through the crowd, pleased to note the appreciative looks some of the men, and even some of the women gave her.
