((More for my characters than actual roleplay, but anyone who feels like joining in, feel free. I just don't have any big ideas for this thread. D: emoz. Hopefully Brell's presence alone will suffice! ))
Brueth bugled in delight as he popped out from between, burly body arching toward the ground with relief. He stumbled a foot as he touched down, shaking the last of the empty feeling of between off his blue hide. His rider whooped with equal enthusiasm, pulling off her helmet to let her bushy red hair down. "By Faranth, Bruey, I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever see the sky again!" Brell boomed, shielding her eyes from the sun with a gloved hand.
It was a very long jump. Brueth agreed with a mighty yawn. Brell flashed him a grin as she stripped off her gloves and jacket. The warmth of Araelen was quite a contrast from the chill of between indeed. "Let's just hope we weren't off by too much, my friend." She scanned the Weyr, disconcerted by how settled it appeared. "Seems we may be a little late." She added as an unfamiliar weyrling dragon flew overhead. "Ah well. Less work for us, ey Breuy?" She laughed and patted the blue hide affectionately. "And what a welcoming party!" She declared, arms spread wide at the empty space around them. Brueth tilted his head. No one is here, Mine. "Precisely!" Brell thumped a fist onto her open palm. "By Faranth this is a slow bunch. Care to introduce us, Brue?"
To whom? Brell snickered. "Good question. "Well first things first, is Minth here?" Oh I like Minth. Breuth rumbled happily. Minth? Are you here? Brueth and his have arrived! I am here! Where are you?
Across the Lake, Minth raised her dainty head, bright eyes whirling. Breuth? Is that really you?
Minth? Oh I am so glad to hear you! Yes, it is me. I am here. Mine is here too! Where are you?
Over here! Minth let out a bugle that sent Q'tris, who had been washing the green, sprawling in the water. "Minth!" Brueth and his are here, Q'trismine! Isn't that lovely? Minth announced merrily. "Breuth and-? Oh!" Q'tris paled, scrambling to his feet.
"What's wrong?" Trilia blinked as she peaked around Minth, holding a damp rag in her hand.
Q'tris fumbled for words. "Apparently," He looked up at Minth then back to Trilia, as though somehow doubting the truth of his next words. Or maybe he was actually hoping they weren't true at all. "Breuth and Brell have come forward."
The effect on Trilia was instantaneous. She screamed in joy, throwing the rag in the air as she tossed her arms up. "Brell and Bruey?! Where-?" She turned to search for her mother and screamed again as she sighted the familiar bulk of Brueth lumbering toward them with Brell strolling along at his side. "BRELL!" Trilia cried, struggling to wade through water back to shore. Brell met her as the little girl ran, half slipping on the muddy bank, and scooped her up in her arms. Brell spun her around in a hug, merry face bright with a smile. "If it isn't Trilia! Shells is it good to see you! You nearly stopped my heart when I heard you, Trissy, and Minth were lost between! Do me a favor and let me in on any of your dramatic stunts before I have a breakdown next time." She kissed her daughter's forehead and Trilia wrapped her arms tighter, burying her face in Brell's hair as she nodded an assent. "As for you," Brell added, turning to Q'tris now. "You didn't think you could escape me that easy, didja?" She winked and Q'tris shook his head, an unwilling smile tugging at his lips.
"No I suppose not. Though I assure you that wasn't our intention." Q'tris replied as Brell replaced Trilia on the ground. The older woman rolled her eyes, smile broad.
"You don't need to explain yourself, Trissy. I'm sure Tril here was just as eager to follow the dragons as you were. As for me, I was left behind to watch dragonriders dropping off like flies. And what an unnerving thing that was! I mean, after a while it made you wonder if there was a new epidemic or if dragons were suddenly bad luck." She threw a thumb over her shoulder to indicate Brueth. "Had me worried, this one did. The last thing I wanted was to loose my Brue. Imagine my relief when I found out what the real reason for the disappearances were! Of course I couldn't miss out on the action. Though I do seem to have fallen behind. What'd we miss?"
Brueth bugled in delight as he popped out from between, burly body arching toward the ground with relief.
