The cool season, which is the closest the Southern Continent usually gets to winter, had been marked by unusually harsh winds this Turn. And then an absolute phenomenon struck...it started to snow! Being at the highest point on the island, the snow that fell into the Bowl of the Weyr did not melt immediately, as it did almost everywhere else. And with the snow came a cold reminiscent of the Northern Continent, and now the snow is here to stay. The wind has created drifts, causing Weyrfolk to wade through 2-3 feet of snow when crossing the Bowl. With the bitter winds creating a swirling, blinding mass, life has become rather unpleasant. The only benefit of this cold weather is that Thread is falling as dust across the areas struck by the chill. In this manner, the Weyr is lucky!
This plot will affect all threads started from Dec. 25th to Dec. 31st. If you would like your currently running thread to incorporate it, feel free to have snow suddenly start falling.
Bundle up!
The Hot Springs may be a nice retreat...
