First of all, I'd like to welcome everyone again to the Revival of Araelen Weyr. Now that things are up and running, with candidates pouring in, I thought I'd let you all in on some of the plans we have for the weeks to come.
Soon, the Weyrwoman and her bronzeriders (as well as some other riders, perhaps) will meet with the Lord Holders and Craftmasters of Pern. This will set the stage for all future Hold-Weyr relations, as well as make obvious the dragonriders' intentions for the New Pern Order.
As everyone has been anticipating, the Queen shall rise around Monday, June 25th. This would occur earlier, but our beloved Weyrwoman will be away for the week prior to this time. Thus, to prevent an interruption of the Flight (as we'd like it to run smoothly), we're postponing it until this time. This also gives bronzeriders a chance to stake their claim and duke it out a little. Aha.
After the Flight has ended, there will be a rigorous analysis of the candidates conducted by the Weyrwoman. On this new Pern, with Holds brimming with potential dragonriders as there have been no Searches in centuries, Sitareh will handpick the candidates to stand on the Sands (don't worry! Unless you choose otherwise, your character will stand. This will just add some excitement and drama, for your charries will have to appeal to the Weyrwoman to slip by).
Then, we will announce the colours and numbers of eggs. This will be followed by the candidates' opportunity to meet the eggs. There are rumours of a potential...*drum roll drowns out words*...and a member (non-Meddler) is guaranteed to Impress.
There will also be a fire lizard Clutch found and Hatched before the actual dragon Hatching.
Thus, in around a month, a month and a half, the actual Hatching will occur. Please submit candidates as soon as possible to develop their characters prior to this. We have even more drama planned for the future, but we can't let you in all of it just yet! Where would the fun be in that?
