Character Information
Character Name: Xiana
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Female
Preference: Males
Previous Position: Farmer's child
Current Position: Jr. Weyrling
Appearance: Like her brothers, Xiana has very dark hair and very dark eyes, but she carries them in a different manner. She very much looks the part of a baby sister, giving an onlooker the feeling that she must really be a doll; she looks so fragile and pretty. Her smile is so genuine, though, that they know she is not in spite of her ethereal beauty. To make up for her face's prettiness, however, are the subtle scars and bruises from her father's and older brother's less than gentle treatment? She does her best to hide them, because she knows that it would be bad to show them off.
Personality: Xiana spends most of her time idolizing her brothers. Although small, she will immediately fly into a rage at someone who even pretends to insult the twins. She cannot recognize the animosity between them, and seems unaware that the abuse they all bore under their father, and that Xiarly now continues, is not a way of expressing love for someone beneath you, although she has developed a bit of an inferiority complex from being always told that women, especially the youngest children, are weaker than their male counterparts. A little on the nervous side, she needs constant reassurance of things like love and sometimes, when disaster seems to strike, the very existence of her twins by her side, a need picked up after their father, who she loved unconditionally and irrationally despite his blatantly inappropriate behavior, died.
History: Father: Ximon deceased farmer Mother: Arla wife of farmer/punching bag Siblings: ~Xiarl - 17 turns - Jr. Weyrling ~Xian - 17 turns - Jr. Weyrling
Arla and Ximon met at a gather when she was twelve and he was twenty. As soon as he was able, Ximon wed Arla, and they commenced the baby making. Because she was so young and so small, she had several miscarriages before two, small dark baby boys were born.
The couple named them Xiarl and Xian, and the two brothers quickly became a part of the family in a way their fallen comrades, who never made it past the fetal stage and never made it into the conversation, would ever be.
Ximon held a heavy hand over their little familial unit. When he wanted something, he got it. AT the beginning, he simply wanted Arla on demand. That would change as time passed.
When the twins were no more than toddlers, another child was born into the family, a little girl. They named her Xiana, and everyone loved her. Xiana latched onto her brother Xian early on, because he was so gentle and kind to her when everyone else treated her like rubbish.
Their mother, too, was thrilled to have a baby girl, but she was also worried that Ximon would demand the same things of their daughter that he did of herself. She trusted him not to, though, because she loved him. It was a rather stupid thing to do, in retrospect, but she had no retrospect, and fate decided what would happen.
Xiarl was the dominating sibling from the beginning. He was the top of the pecking order, and Xiana looked up to him, because he always knew what to do, knew what was the right answer, even if he was a little mean to she and Xian a lot.
After a few turns of growing and schooling, if you could call it that, for the children, Ximon started creeping into Xiana's room while her mother was busy with other things, like an ill brother, or making dinner. He touched her and did things that made her feel like a big girl, even if he did tell her not to tell her mother or brothers. It was kind of fun, besides, to make her daddy happy like that. It never occurred to her that anything could be wrong with what they did behind closed doors.
Arla never knew about these infringements on the girl's virtue because soon after that began, she died. She had been pregnant with yet another child, and this one was expected to live. A few days before she was due to give birth, it became apparent that this was not the case, because she spontaneously aborted and bled out. The family buried their mother in silence, and she was never directly discussed again.
Ximon was never quite the same after that. He never hit the boys, but he was never nice to them. He began to abuse Xiana even more than he had been before, for lack of Arla to abuse, and not in quite the nice way she'd thought it was before. He wasn't so gentle, and he did things that seemed more dangerous. She trusted him, though, and he never got her killed, so, in her mind, it was right.
When she was twelve, Ximon died suddenly, leaving their farm and all its glory to the twins, including Xiana. Luckily for them, they were in no more debt than the usual tithe required annually, which was to be expected anyway. The managed as well as they could, under the circumstances, and kept the farm in good, working condition.
Their parents had been dead for around three turns when a rider wandered up to their little corner of Pern and took a liking to the girl. He ended up deciding to take her back with him to the weyr, and Xiarl managed to talk him into taking the boys back with him as well.
Position in Family: Youngest of three siblings.
Pets: None.
Alignment: whatever Xian and Xiarl are, what with her worshiping them.
Relationship to Existing Character: Younger sister of Xian and Xiarl
Dragon Information
Dragon Colour: As noble and proud as her personality is, she also looks the part. Nausith is a dark green, the color you find when walking through the forest right as the sun falls. Her color lightens as it touches her underbelly and the back of her legs, as though the sunlight has reached through the branches to touch upon it and throw the leaf green into a brighter light. The color on her back is not a uniform color, however. It seems to dapple and shift, especially when the direct sunlight hits it. Then the color is thrown into an clearer light, and the dark green bursts into a crystalline darker emerald. She is long legged and as a dragonet will sometimes be a bit clumsy, almost like a young filly - however, as she gets older she will begin to move with that grace and poise that you expect from a beauty as she. She isn't the strongest of the greens, and she isn't the biggest, but she is agile and fast, with a proud tilt to her head that she carries everywhere she goes.
Dragon Personality: Nausith is her own self, if nothing else. She is not one to focus on herself - no, that would be ridiculous. She is a noble thing who will not back down to anyone - when other's flee, the dragon will stand her ground. She is not the biggest of flirts, especially for a Green, but when she finds the special One she will do anything to please him, despite what Her's thinks. She is a dragon who enjoys being able to see Her's, or touch them - she gets anxious if she happens to be by herself for too long. Nausith is a thinker, another odd trait for a Green. She tends to be modest, but don't let that give you any ideas. She believes everyone is an equal, and if she sees anyone threatened infront of her, woe on them. Dragging Her's along, she will defend and fix any problem she sees. Nausith tends to be a dreamer - she takes things the clouds say or Her's has dreamed as "signs" and as quick as she is to decipher the sign, Her's and her will be off to do whatever it says. This is something she is very serious about - what the signs say, they do.
Dragon Abilities: Strength: 7 Concentration: 12 Agility: 13 Team Coordination: 10 Creativity: 7 Allure: 17 Search/Rescue Skill: 4
