So I heard it got pushed back...again! Til maybe 2012 or something...
But on IMDB Pro, the plot desc sounded a heck of a lot like Dragonsdawn. Which would be so awesome! That was my favourite book, so I would loooove it if that's the movie plot.
I'm so excited!

I had noooo idea that they're making a movie. XD I know there was a PC game (?) made way back when, but a movie? *tries to imagine Pernese dragons in some of the snazzy CGI we have these days* WANT.

I think the original contract that the movie had way back when was for Dragonflight, but it fell through... that was back when she had all those strict rules for role plays and stuff, because they were going to be making a movie.

Yeah, there was one they were going to make a long time ago, but they didn't end up going through with it. Which is too bad, since the guy in charge of it is the same one who makes Battlestar Galactica, which is awesome. Dx
BUT ANYWAY. xDD They made ANOTHER movie deal a few years ago or so, but awww, that's too bad it got pushed back again. I really hope they actually make it eventually!
And that would be awesome! I love Dragonsdawn. ^^ It might be better than Dragonflight for people who aren't familiar with the series and don't know anything about Pern.

Yup, the plot summary described ships landing on a new planet, and colonists settling in, when Thread begins to fall. So unless they're going to do some flashback thing, it sounds pretty Dragonsdawn-ish to me!!
I read somewhere that the old contract partly fell through 'cause the guy wasn't adhering to what Anne wanted for Pern...
But apparently she has a good opinion of the new guy. It's going to be done by Copperheart Entertainment, which is a small Canadian (yay!) company, but I'm kinda worried if they'll be able to produce a movie of this scale... The biggest thing they've done is Ginger Snaps. Nothing would ruin DRoP more than crappy virtual dragons.

Noooo, see, the guy actually made a really good pilot episode that she was happy with, but then they sent it to whatever company was producing it (WB?) and THEY made all these revisions. Something about trying to make it more like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. o0 Which I don't get at all...but yeah, so both the guy and Anne were unhappy with all the changes to Pern, because they both wanted it to be more true to the world setting in the books, so it didn't work out. xDD
But yeah, I hope they do a good job with the dragons! D=

There was talks for a Dragonflight movie once, too, that I think happened before the TV show attempt. I really look forward to seeing it.

There was gonna be a film?!?! (Why do we never hear of this kinda stuff in england?!?!?!)
I think a film of Dragonflight would be amazing, or Dragonsdawn x] I don't think it would be all that hard to understand starting with 'Flight, 'cause that was the one I started reading first :s But I suppose for the slightly less "fantasy-" and more "science-fiction" -minded 'Dawn would be better =[
Ah well, we're in for a long wait I think guys =[
(And theres still a year left before Maximum Ride is due to be released =[ )
