Character Name: Anah
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Preference: Males
Previous Position: Weyrfolk
Current Position: Junior Weyrling
Appearance: Anah has long red hair that is always up. She wears baggy clothing, if she can find it, as she doesn't really like tight clothing. She has bright blue eyes, and tan skin, probably from always being out in the sun. She stands at 4'10 and she's not chubby, but not skinny either, kinda in the middle. She has long legs and a short torso. Her face is rather short and rounded at the chin. She does have a bit of muscles, but not so much that she looks like a body builder.
Personality: Anah is quite outgoing and adventurous. She loves the out doors(which is why she has a tan. xD) and she isn't one to hold back her thoughts on a subject. She is use to physical labor, and has no qualms in doing such. She is quite friendly, but can have quite a temper on her. And if she's mad at you, you'll know.
History: Anah's parents were both dragon riders. The met, fell in love, and before anyone knew it, they had three children. Anah was the youngest of the three girls and she acted different from her girly sisters, and most of her friends growing up were boys. She learned how to climb trees and she helped her friends out when they needed her help. But as time flew on they began to make fun of her, and they soon grew apart. Now years later, and she finally hopes that she'll be picked to become a dragon rider.
Position in Family: Youngest
Dragon's Name: Iseulth
Dragon’s Appearance: Iseulth has vivid, spring green hide covering most of her form. Her head, however, is completely coated in darker ivy green, which fades gradually away as it nears her neck. Her tail is also ivy green in colour. Iseulth’s limbs are lighter than her body, with more of a frosty green appearance to them. Iseulth is on the small side, even for a green, and has an overall shortened, though well-proportioned, body.
Dragon’s Personality: Although fairly quiet for a green, Iseulth’s silence is not due to shyness; it stems primarily from her innocent nature. She is an optimist, choosing to view only the best in others despite their failings. It pains Iseulth greatly to see others hurt, and she aid them in healing emotional or physical pain. This is especially true in terms of her rider, for whom she would devote every moment of her day to heal any kind of wound. In her relationships with other dragons, Iseulth’s innocence is also apparent, for she tends to fall in love easily. Not understanding the true meaning of the term, she is likely to believe herself smitten after paid the barest of attention. Luckily, her extreme loyalty to her rider will aid in her overcoming potential infatuations, for she would dismiss them if told to do so.

Character Name: Kagairo
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Preference: Heterosexual
Previous Position: N/A
Current Position: Junior Weyrling
Appearance: She's 5'4" tall with her torso a bit shorter than average, making her even height with her brother, despite being two years older. She has brown eyes, and her hair is light brown, with a little bit of red in it, and she has it grown out to a little past the middle of her back. She would like to have it longer, but her parents keep cutting it. She wears it loose only when she feels like messing with getting it under control. Otherwise she puts it up; when one's hair is up, it's harder to tell how much time they put into it before. At least, that's her view on it. She typically likes to wear dull-colored clothing, with an exception: the colors red and blue.
Personality: She tends to talk to herself often, though her focus on something nearby tends to give it more the appearance that the object of her speech is something inanimate, from rocks to various walls of the hold. These times when she speaks to no one in particular typically include responding to herself, sometimes turning into rather in depth conversations, especially considering the lack of multiple participants. She is adventurous and prefers the outdoors to the indoors. She loves dangerous situations, seemingly oblivious to the fact that she might actually get hurt one day. This likely was part of what prompted her to run to a Clutch of eggs without looking to see if there was a female creature hovering over protectively. The fact that she's always been around the same height as her younger brother irritates her to no end, causing her to look for reasons to disagree with him or prove him wrong; she also has a short-temper for people who comment on her height, even if she doesn't really get mad over anything else. A death threat doesn't warrant even half the anger that a statement that she's short does.
History: Mother: Arula, Father: Venaroc
She lived in a minor hold with her two brothers and parents, then one brother and her parents after her older brother left to become an apprentice harper. When she was four or five turns old, she imagined being a dragon when she grew up, as if truly believing she would change species completely over the course of her lifetime. Sometimes her parents wonder if she ever actually dismissed this fantasy as impossible, or if she still hopes it could happen. A few turns after her older brother left, she spotted a Clutch on the beach while walking, daydreaming about dragons; her second fantasy had always been being a dragon rider. If the attempt at turning into a dragon failed, the next best thing would be to ride one, right? Upon noticing the Clutch, she got excited and ran over to it, forgetting completely of the likelihood of their being a protective mother nearby. It was a small Clutch from a green fire-lizard, and, noticing now that the mother wasn't around, she took one of the eggs, carrying it home. Her parents were annoyed that she'd just snatched an egg like that, but she told them she couldn't remember where the nest was, so it was rather hard to just return it. Instead they had her keep the egg warm and told her it was her job to watch it until it hatched, since she was the one who found it. When it finally did hatch, it was a blue fire-lizard, and she hurriedly fed it the nearest food she could find and happily named him Tyran. As her and the flit got older, she started to notice something odd about his behavior. Confused, it was. From the images and emotions he sent her, she eventually figured out that he believed himself to be a dragon and was puzzled as to what he was doing in a hold rather than with other dragons; he sent her images passed from older fire-lizards of a Weyr filled with dragons as if telling her that's where he should be. No matter how she tried to tell him, she could not convince Tyran that he was a fire-lizard and not one of the much larger dragons. As she got older, her hopes that she might get Searched increased, though she wasn't sure how old one had to be to Impress a dragon. She still wanted a dragon, and maybe it would calm her silly flit down if he could live in a Weyr.
Position in Family: Middle sibling, has two brothers.
Dragon's Name: Caelith
Dragon’s Appearance: Caelith is a mesmerizing pine green colour, and this is fairly consistent over most of her form. Dark teal covers her back in faint but visible swirls and loops, beginning at the top of her head and gliding all the way to the tip of her tail. She is on the large side for a green, but only just. Caelith appears larger than she is in actuality as a result of her somewhat oversized head and thick legs. In contrast, her feet and nose are on the small side.
Dragon’s Personality: There is little weakness in Caelith’s manner, for she is a strong and independent green. Although she is extremely loyal to her rider, she is not overly dependent on her rider’s constant presence and support. She is determined to achieve both her goals and her rider’s goals, and she will pursue these ends with great intent. Her intelligence will aid her in all pursuits, especially when it comes to learning new abilities. Despite her strength and intelligence, though, Caelith can be amazingly flighty in her social interactions with other dragons. Around males, especially, she can act in a manner completely contrary to her normal personality.

Character Name: Vinxi.
Age: Sixteen.
Gender: Female.
Preference: Straight.
Previous Position: Um... Holder?
Current Position: Junior Weyrling
Marks: Two.
Appearance:
Vinxi is short and skinny (height is five feet, four inches, weight is one hundred twenty-five pounds), with dark little freckles across her face, arms and back, long red-orange hair that makes her look like her head’s on fire, and sparkling greenish-brown eyes.
In a more thorough description, I’ll tell you that she dislikes being teased about her shortness, but will generally ignore it. Her build is skinny-ish, but somewhat lithe, and she’s pretty graceful in her movements and what she does. She hardly ever trips over things, or bumps into people – if she’s watching where she’s going.
Her eyes are a bright, bright sea green, with darker brown speckles in them, just a few. Her freckles, as afore mentioned, are scattered everywhere on her body. She’s one of those people with pale-ish skin who only get freckles, instead of a tan. They’re across her face (cheeks and nose), her back (easily spotted when she wears swimming clothes) and arms (just look when she’s wearing a short-sleeved shirt). She likes her freckles, and often spends more time outside, in the sun, just so she can get more.
She also likes the color of her hair. It’s a bright, bright reddish-orange, and slightly curled at the ends. She keeps it down, most of the time. It’s somewhat long, reaching down just to above her should blades when curled, but if she straightens it (and she rarely does, she likes the curls), it hangs an inch or so below them.
Personality:
Vinxi is, in a word… energetic. She always seems to have energy, bouncing from one project to another with ease, and though she does finish them she often has several going at once, if any. She never seems to run out of energy, always on the go – like Curious George after twenty cups of coffee and seventy boxes of Fruit Loops, but without the major sugar-rush headache afterwards.
She’s not really… hyper, exactly, just energetic. Occasionally she does tire down, but her batteries are usually recharged fine when she sleeps at night, and she doesn’t always get a full-night’s sleep, because sometimes she’s still doing stuff at a late hour. Though she does get enough sleep to keep her healthy.
She’s a sweet, understanding person with a long, long fuse and a love of making friends, meeting new people, going to new places and trying new things. She’s easy to like, and easier to make friends with, her trust freely given. She’s optimistic until the very end, always looking at the bright side of things, and always trying to have fun whenever she can. She has a sharp mind and a will to learn, a strong loyalty and good will to match, as well as a general calmness and steady mind to keep her from going completely wacko - though she can be a bit naive at times.
She acts much younger than her age is, most of the time, for reasons unknown to anyone but herself. She can be serious and cool if she absolutely, undeniably has to, but she’d rather handle things in her usual happy way.
History:
(Same as Raixeh's.)
Father - Corlats, Deceased. Previously in the Woodcraft. Mother - Serliu, Works in a minor Hold as a Harper. Brother - Raixeh, also a Candidate.
Raixeh and Vinxi lived a fairly normal life, up until they were twelve. They went to learn with other children from their mother, the Harper of Red Mist Hold, a Hold which was set half into a jungle, near a lake. It was named for the way the sun shown off of the mist that came in off the lake, and the dew in the morning, giving everything a distinctly red-hued look, in many shades.
Vinxi found that she was a fair singer, and could play flute instruments well, like their mother, and Raixeh discovered that his talents were in carving, like their father.
The pair of them were (and still are) very close, and did a lot of things together, including exploring - which is how they found their Fire-Lizards. When they were eleven, a warm afternoon trip to the beach with their parents resulted in finding a small Clutch; Corlats also Impressed a Bronze Fire-Lizard, and Serliu two Greens.
When the day they turned twelve, everything changed.
The four of them, and their Fire-Lizards, went into the jungle for an afternoon, just to explore, and search for the many varieties of flowers, and little creepy crawly critters, the like which some kids are interested in at that age. But, unfortunatly, they weren't to get out of there unscathed.
A pair of wild felines took them by surprise, leaping from a tree and down at Vinxi, who had strayed from the rest of them. When she screamed, both her Fire-Lizards and Raixeh's came from Between to her aid, as well as her father.
Between them, they managed to beat off the felines, but not before Corlats' jugular vein was severed. He died in a matter of minutes, his little Bronze vanishing into the dark, cold, airless space of Between with a terrible cry.
The remainder of family grew closer together, yet somehow a little more distant emotionally. They all went going on through life as well as they could, though it took them a while to get past Corlats' death. During that time, Vinxi grew quieter, more reserved than usual, the songs that Serliu wrote took on a more sorrowful note, and Raixeh's outrageous stunts took a turn for the worst - that was when he broke his leg riding a runner.
After that incident, they discovered that though they thought they had recovered, they hadn't really, and that they had some things to work out...
And then, the Dragonriders came, astounding everyone - Serliu, Raixeh and Vinxi weren't exempt from the shock.
Both Raixeh and Vinxi threw themselves at learning all they could about the past Dragonriders; they hadn't really done more than listen to what they heard in Serliu's ballads and songs. But now, they wanted to know more about these amazing new creatures and people.
Then, possibly what was the highlight of their lives happened (aside from Impressing their Fire-Lizards).
They were Searched.
Position in Family: Youngest kid, by three and a half minutes.
Relation to Existing Character: Twin brother, Raixeh, whose profile is to be posted next.
Dragon's Name: Dindraneth
Dragon’s Appearance: With unique, dark celadon hide, Dindraneth is sure to stand out. A small patch of fern green covers her throat, as well as her four feet from the ankle joint down. When she spreads her wings, Dindraneth’s fern green wing membranes are apparent, contrasting with her body in flight. Dindraneth is slightly large for a green and very well-proportioned, although her tail is a bit on the short side.
Dragon’s Personality: When meeting others, Dindraneth is shy and quiet. She allows her rider to make the first overtures and will gladly hide in the background for the duration of social interactions if possible. Thus, it will be up to her rider to encourage her to engage others and become more comfortable in friendly relationships. When Dindraneth does make friends, she will be extremely loyal. She will often make sacrifices for others, exhibiting a noble spirit beyond most other dragons. Dindraneth is also a quick learner, despite her humility, and she will easily accomplish the tasks required of her by her rider.

Character Name: S'cam
Age: 25 turns
Gender: Male
Preference: Males
Previous Position: Candidate
Current Position: Candidate Master
Appearance: S’cam has short red hair that spikes naturally at the top. He has bright blue eyes and a tan complexion. S’cam wears tight clothing, and usually tries to look his best, no matter what. He has muscles, and is by no means weak or girly. He stands at 5’10, making him quite tall.
Personality: S’cam is quite the teaser, and loves to mess with people. He knows his place however, and respects those lower than him to respect it. He can be serious or playing, and you probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. His favorite past time is spooking the Candidates, telling them what can happen to them, what will happen to them, and other such tells. He can’t stand not flirting with a couple of cute guys, which usually ends him up in trouble. He is quite kind however, and when he is serious, you can count on him for anything.
History: PARENTS: Myum – Master Dancer, Dead S’ack – Bronze Rider, dead When S’cam was born most believed that he was dead, or would die soon. But somehow he survived and grew to be a healthy boy, with the irresistible urge to play pranks. He was soon searched and he became a candidate, soon after he got his blue Ravith, he realized he had fallen in love. In love with a man so stunningly handsome, several girls feel for him too. It wasn’t long before this love grew and S’cam finally told the man what he felt, and surprisingly, the man felt the same way. They trained together, and they did several other activities, most which shouldn't be talked about involving a bed. But one day the man fell ill and passed away soon after that. S’cam never really got over his first love dieing, but continued to do his daily activities. Soon he learned that he was going to be traveling into a new year. Coming from the past and getting use to things wasn’t that hard to deal with, not for S’cam. But he did love the people’s faces when they did seemingly pop out from no where. Since he had just recently become Candidate master he was excited when the gold dragon had clutched because that meant that he would be able to do his job, and have fun while he was at it. And so now, here he was, sitting there with a bunch of Candidates.
Position in Family: Oldest Child
Dragon Colour: Blue
Dragon Personality: Ravith can be a bit clumsy at times, but is most of the time graceful. He loves younger humans, rather than the older ones. He, like S’cam, loves to play around and spook the candidates.

Character Name: Draien
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Preference: Homosexual
Previous Position: Apprentice crafter
Current Position: Junior Weyrling
Appearance: Draien stands at about 5 foot 10, having just hit his growth spurt, but shorter than was normal for his family. His hair is solid black, falling around his face, to about his shoulders and he absolutely refuses to tie it back, no matter the circumstances. Because of this it often gets in his eyesight, which, or so he’s been told, makes him look slightly sinister. With soft purple eyes he doesn’t take much after either parent and only slightly resembles one of his four siblings.
Personality: He was quite protective of his youngest sister, Aarn, and still is towards his best friend. Other than that he’s quite adventurous, always looking to seek out some sort of amusement, even if it’s reckless or stupid. Not only that, Draien is known for disappearing for hours on end, hiding out in whatever ‘secret location’ he has found recently. Hardly ever is he careful, and anyone that knows him well knows that its not a smart idea to ruin his fun.
History: Born as the fourth child and second son of R’kin and Fira on a small farm, with two older sisters, and older brother and one younger sister. When he was 17, Draien wandered off with a friend for a day, dragging him along to ‘explore’, but when the two returned home, ‘home’ was gone. Sometime while they’d been gone some group of thieves pillaged their home, leaving only Draien’s youngest sister and himself alive, his sister having been sent off to gather flowers for the kitchen table because she was too young to help with the rest of her siblings. This only served to make Draien even more protective, not just of his sister, but of everyone he cared about, as well as possessive. He'd always had a great love for the stories he'd heard of dragons, and longed for those days to return once again.
Position in Family: Fourth of five children
Dragon's Name: Meliavith
Dragon's Appearance: Meliavith is an almost turquoise colour, although his hide has more blue highlights than green. Royal blue flows along his long, sinuous tail, as well as his muzzle, enveloping his nostrils and mouth, although it tapers away down to the bottoms of his cheeks. A bit undersized for a blue, he makes up for it with a strong, stocky build that will give him the strength he’ll need to last Threadfall.
Dragon's Personality: Sophistication is the word that describes Meliavith, for he is a very artistic dragon in both words and creativity. Give him a canvas and a jar of paint, and Meliavith will surprise the crowds with his creative use of his tail as a brush. This is a reflection of his fun-loving nature, for the world is not meant to be boring, and Meliavith will do everything in his power to add excitement to his rider’s day. He is also a very down-to-earth dragon, being quite modest about his artistic pursuits. When it comes to impressing greens, though, Meliavith can be suave and charming, perhaps even boasting somewhat about his abilities.

Character Name: Elkie
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Preference: Bisexual
Previous Position: Dancer
Current Position: Candidate
Appearance: Elkie is fairly wraith-like in skin tone; she is very pale with straight, thin, jet-black hair that reaches her shoulders. Her hair is normally always in a ponytail clipped to her head in a strange type of bun, but the pulled back hair reveals her relatively small ears. Her eyes are a very bright blue, framed by thin eyebrows and long eyelashes. Her nose is fairly long, but not large.
She stands not overly tall, but still tall enough to move beyond the “average” height. Her arms are very fit, but still disguise how strong her arms really are. Her fingers are calloused and rough, but she does nothing to try and avoid that. She has very few curves, but it works to her advantage in her career path.
Personality: Elkie is kind, but slightly eccentric. Other members of her troupe have described her as “so nice, but kind of strange.” Others have commented that all the air from aerial dancing has gone to her brain, but that is not the case. She comes off as distant to some people, leaving some questioning if she even truly likes them.
She is also known for her odd remarks about things. Similes, puns, and hyperboles are spouted from her mouth at various times, used sometimes to help people learn when she tries to teach them how to dance.
Elkie is quiet about her aerial dancing- some people wouldn’t even know if they haven’t seen her practice or perform. She comes off as your average dancer until the trapeze, which gives only shows how modest she is about dancing.
History: Elkie was born to a drudge at small Hold, with a fisherman who had found her mother, an old flame of his, as her father, where she stayed and prepped for drudge life. She was obedient, if slightly energetic. Born with plain looks, Elkie was a child who was often left in the shadows, or forgotten to have existed by most people who met her.
At a young age, she became exposed to dancing. Picking it up by watching from the sidelines, she soon made a name for herself among the lower class in the Hold as being a miraculous young dancer.
When she was about 9, she met performers at a local gather. They performed acrobatic stunts so incredible that Elkie immediately decided that that was what she wanted to do. Begging both the troupe and her mother, she began to learn the ropes. Her specialty became the trapeze, where she performed aerial dancing as her specialty. Though the troupe only came for gathers, she set up her own trapeze, with assistance from another aerial dancer and her mother, and performed solo at gathers with the troupe.
Seeing her daughter had the potential to be absolutely incredible, her mother consented by letting her join the troupe at age 11. Absolutely ecstatic, she joined up with them right away, and also began learning other styles of dance in addition to the styles she already knew and aerial dancing.
At 16, she still loves the trapeze, but she is eager to try new things. Seeing the dragons suddenly in the sky, she was struck with an idea: Why limit herself to the trapeze when you can actually drop through the air and get caught by a dragon? This idea of "dragon dancing" totally consumed her, and through catching the eye of a Searchrider at a gather, she may have a chance to bring that dream into reality.
Position in Family: Only child, unless her father had more kids
Dragon Name: Elyanuth
Dragon Appearance: The most striking feature of Elyanuth is not his hide, but his size. Or rather, his lack of size. While he manages to outgrow most green dragons, it is not by much, as he is certainly smaller than the average blue. He is a pleasant sky blue, with very subtle streaks of lighter cornflower blue flowing down the length of his body. His wing membranes, in contrast, are ultramarine. In fact, Elyanuth’s wings are his most redeeming feature, for they are near perfect in shape and size.
Dragon Personality: There is nothing that defines Elyanuth more than his undying loyalty. For his friends, and especially his rider, he would do anything. If it meant rescuing a friend from a sticky situation or even putting a smile on his rider’s face, Elyanuth would break the silly rules of the Weyr without a thought. Despite these bold acts, he is typically rather reserved when mixing with others. As well, Elyanuth is a strong follower, eagerly being led by his rider in whatever pursuits she may choose. He doesn’t have much ambition to speak of, being content to let others fret over rulemaking and abiding.

Character Name: Ayalexie
Age: 11 (passing off as 12 though… oh, the trouble he shall be causing!)
Gender: Male
Preference: Unsure as of yet, but will probably lean toward hetero
Previous Position: Brat
Current Position: Candidate
Appearance: Ayalexie is scrawny, but tough. His body is a ruddy tan from being in the sun, and he is very small in stature. His muscles don’t show, but he is pretty strong for his age from all his years of duking it out with the other brats to become a leader. His thin body shows his ribs somewhat, but he eats quite a bit compared to the other boys in the village. Scars litter in various places over his entire body, sticking out in white lines on his tanned skin.
His oval face is just as tan as his body. It is crowned with shaggy, dirty-blonde hair. It is unevenly cut, as if he had done it himself. He brushes it, but not very well, so he always looks unkempt even from his hair. His eyes are a light brown, and dark shadows hang over them. However, they look eager and earnest, but have traces of maturity lined in it if looked in deep enough. His nose and mouth are both thin, but his mouth is always poised to smile or chatter happily. A dimple pokes in on his right cheek, visible only when he smiled wide enough. His chin is slightly pointed, with a tiny cleft in it.
His clothes are plain and dirty, and many may wonder if they have ever been washed. In the mild winter months of Nerat, he wears plain brown, tattered shorts that always look a little too big. He wears them in winter as well, but he wears a thin shirt in addition to it that looks very worn, and too large. He wears crude sandals no matter the season, with no desire to walk in bare feet along the rocky shore. However, back in the old village, he could wander with no shoes in no fear.
Personality: The first thing most people note about Ayalexie is his lack of hygiene. He despises baths with a passion, so he always has some sort of smell about him. He is very likely to need to be dragged to a bathing room, being proud of the dirt that smears his thin cheeks. He also has no desire to wash his clothes- they’re just as comfortable dirty, so there is no point in washing them, in his opinion. Many would find this offensive, but where he is from, most people are of similar mindsets.
He also has a heavy dialect with a light accent sprinkled on it. His words have a slight nasal sound to them, but it is not too noticeable unless one is paying very close attention to the way he speaks. His dialect makes his sentences sound broken. He has a lot of trouble speaking with the past tense, and other tenses all get confused in his sentences. Where one might say “My name is Ayalexie,” he says “Me name be Ayalexie.” He is also not good with asking- most words come out as polite-sounding demands, where this is acceptable as a question back in the village. Manners also are foreign to him, so if he intends to catch up, he has a lot to learn.
He is interested in learning about the Weyr customs. He wants to be accepted, for he hopes that way a dragon will actually want him. He is an eager learner, willing to do what people ask of him unless it involves hygiene. He will be a slow learner, but his determination will drill it into his brain eventually. He still is at a point where he gets dragon’s gender and ranking mixed up (he can't figure out what bronze is- to him, they are "orangies"), but he is starting to get that the bigger the dragon, the more important it is.
Ayalexie is also interested in finding some sort of role model- if he wants to be accepted, he figured, he must try to act like others here. He may tag along with someone, whether male or female, to do what is needed. He doesn’t want people mothering him, he only wants to observe and learn that way, asking questions where needed.
If the name Ayalexie gets too difficult for people to say, he will allow them to call him Aya, unless he is lower in rank, where he can be called Lexie. However, his idea of ranking makes sense only in his mind. He doesn’t think dragonriders out-rank him unless they have a specific title, and he is doubtful even of those who do. In his eyes, they are all the same, unless they have muscle, where he will meekly submit. As it was back in his village, the stronger you are, the more dominating you are, regardless of whether you are male or female.
He is a kind boy apart from his setbacks- with his friends, he is willing to do great things. He can help people in all the ways he knows how, even though he has no real talents that make him stick out from a crowd. When he takes a liking to a person, he is likely to stick around and do things for them.
History: After Thread had died out, some people from Southern Hold moved out onto their own to live in an isolated little village place not far from the sea, but further east of Southern. This place was out in the open, made primarily of wood, for Pern’s new abundance of wood (as Thread was no longer falling) made it possible to move out of their stone holds. It was made so out of the way of society that harpers didn't want to come that far out, not to mention it was hard to get to. The original settlers wanted a place to live away from all the pressures of normal society and wanted to live off the land, and creating a village so seperated from civilization that one couldn't help but do so. Ayalexie is one such descendant, hailing from this village which was later called Southern Village, unofficially.
Ayalexie was only one of many of the children in the village, and was raised in the rough life of most of the brats there. He had no formal or informal education, only learning that the only way to earn a place for himself in this village was to scavenge, barter, and wrestle his way to the top.
At a young age, he made it plain to his brat friends that he was going to be their leader. After many tumblings and fights, no one question Ayalexie’s authority in their little gang. Soon, they became loyal out of approval rather than grudging, once they saw he did have what it takes to lead them. So he spent his childhood this way, rounding up his brat friends and doing little things, whether stealing sweets from the few who could make them, or from hunting for flitter eggs along the seashore.
One day, during a tussle with his friends, Ayalexie noticed large flying things in the sky. Amazed, he realized that these must be the “draggies,” the near-myth that lived out only in stories to scare the brats. Sure enough, they were flying through the sky. Instantly, all the little brats fell in love with the creatures. Sometimes, they would just lie out on the grass and pretend that they had a dragon. Though the details were lost to them, they found the colors were green, blue, brown, and bronze, the latter which they called “orangey.” Golds were remembered, but they had never seen any, so they doubted the existence of them.
Ayalexie soon came to decide that he would get a draggie- he didn’t know how, but he would somehow get himself to do so. He pestered his elders about them, trying to find out any random facts about the draggies. Some of the elders had heard stories about them from trips into local holds- the dragons lived in things called Weyrs, they fought nasty things called Thread, and took people in their teenage years to become dragonriders.
This excited Ayalexie- he wanted a fire-breathing draggie! However, he didn’t want to wait until he was a teenager- he wanted one now! And when Ayalexie wants something, nothing is going to stop him from getting it. Even though the villagers called his dream useless and stupid, it didn’t put the young boy down. Waving good-bye to them, he soon departed to find his way to this “Weyr.” Southern Hold seemed like the best place to look first- it was the nearest bit of civilization.
This was the first time he left his village, and he was painfully aware of how different he was compared to the rest of Pern. While others spoke clean, with good grammar, he had a rough dialect with horrible diction and a slight accent. He had no manners, which also set him back a lot. “Please” and “Thank you” were foreign words to him, and he was unused to asking questions. He also hated baths, while these people were always squeaky clean. Despite these setbacks, he convinced someone to tell him how to get to Araelen. A visiting runner told him which runner trails to go on, so getting there would be fairly straightforward.
So he followed those trails, scavenging for food and sleeping under the stars. Finally, after a long time of determination and patience, he reached his destination: Araelen Weyr. Going in, he was subject once again to how different he was, but managed to convince riders to tell him about candidacy, which greatly confused Ayalexie- didn’t he just get a dragon? He also learned that he needed to be a certain age, which bothered him.
However, he is determined to be a “man” and convince the weyrfolk that he is, in fact, of age. He knows he is strong enough to convince them of how fierce and mature he is. With this reassurance to himself, he is positive he can finally get a draggie.
Position in Family: One of the middle children amongst many, but Ayalexie doesn’t keep track.
Dragon's Name: Galeshinth
Dragon’s Appearance: Galeshinth has piercing steel blue hide. Its metallic appearance is bold, especially with the vein-like streaks of navy blue that trace his form. His wing membranes are also navy blue. Galeshinth is a larger-sized blue, with overly large feet. This causes him some difficulty on the ground, and he will likely feel much more at home in the sky when using his powerful wings.
Dragon’s Personality: Galeshinth is as bold as his hide, pursuing his goals with a certain measure of ferocity. This ambition is unusual in a blue, for he is determined and committed. He will encourage his rider to approach life in a similar manner, for he knows that they will succeed as a team. As well, in accordance with his large feet and thoughtful manner, Galeshinth can be quite clumsy at times. He may be easily confused or stumble, but he is typically unbothered by this occasions. His confidence, bolstered by his rider’s affection, can overcome any embarrassment or slight.

Character Name: Rytia
Age: 15 turns
Gender: Female
Preference: Both. : O
Previous Position: Weyrfolk
Current Position: Candidate
Appearance: Rytia has soft black hair that reaches about mid-back. and dark brown eyes. She has a pale complexion. Her nose is slightly down turned. She stands at 5’6 and she has a slender body build. She has a smallish face, with a rounded chin and jawline. Although it doesn’t show because she wears a baggy shirt, she has quite the large chest.
Picture:
Personality: Rytia is the kind of person who can be shy at times, but outgoing at other times. She keeps her secrets to herself, and trusts no one. She doesn’t usually talk to her friends as she does believe they’ll turn on her someday. She never says whats on her mind, and keeps her mouth shut when she should. She looks after her sister, and loves her deeply, but is quite jealous of her.
History: As I said before, Rytia’s parents were dragon riders, called Renth (F) and D'usk (M). Her older sister was born before her, and then soon came her and later Anah, the youngest. Rytia had gotten all the attention as a kid until Anah showed up. Rytia soon became very jealous of her. However, Rytia was to scared to speak her mind. She thought it was ridiculous that her sister played with boys rather than girls. But her parents still loved Anah more than Rytia (in her eyes) and it seemed to her that Anah would soon be prettier than her, and then she’d have nothing over her little sister with the tan skin. So Rytia would follow in the footsteps of her parents and become a dragon rider, something her sister would never accomplish.
Position in Family: Middle Child
Relation to Existing Character: Anah, Older sister
Dragon's Name: Percevisth
Dragon’s Appearance: Percevisth’s main colour is midnight blue. However, light, almost purple-tinged blue covers his entire form with thousands of specks and splashes, an effect that brings to mind the night sky. He is a bit leggy, which will give him an awkward gait and appearance at birth, but as Percevisth ages, this will have the opposite effect, as he will learn to use them gracefully. Percevisth is large for a blue, although certainly not the largest.
Dragon’s Personality: Eager and innocent, Percevisth is quite an impressionable young dragon. He will listen fervently to other’s claims, believing every word, and then strive to match their boastful claims, whether his rider tells him it is possible or not. Percevisth is extremely enthusiastic and has high hopes, striving daily to achieve his goals. Although these may be innocent enough as a youth, his hopes may be honed into ambition as he ages. It will be up to his rider to keep Percevisth on the right track, for he may become distracted by his dreams. This also contributes to his tendency to daydream, for he can be quite the romantic.

Character Name: B’raun
Age: 25 turns
Gender: Male
Previous Position: Tanner
Current Position: Bronze Rider
Appearance: Tall, gangly fellow with taut, nicely tanned skin. He has bushy, hickory brown hair that has a slight curl to it when it’s wet. His eyes are a deep, luscious green, which almost seem to entrance people with the quiet intelligence they behold.
Personality: When he’s in a good mood, B’raun can be quite the pleasure to be around. Although rather a heavy drinker, he doesn’t tend to get over-emotional. B’raun is a family man at heart, always spending a lot of time with his dad in his small workshop, and tending to his younger siblings. He is very protective of his friends and family. He doesn’t have many close friends, but he does socialize a lot and have many cordial acquaintances. B’raun would fight to the death for his dragon or his loved ones. He would defend them, whether or not they were right, because he was loyal to those he loved.
History: Biraun grew up in a little, isolated town in the Southern continent, not very far from the coast. Biraun grew up with a younger brother and a younger sister, both within two turns of each other, but Biraun was four turns apart from the oldest. He spent his childhood taking care of his siblings, learning firsthand from his father how to dry and work the hides until they were flexible and smooth. He grew attached to his humble life in the countryside, and his father was convinced he would become a great Tanner with the skills he possessed in the trade. He showed great delicacy when dealing with the hides, and he was very talented when it came to printing designs in the belts he made.
When a dragon flew down from the skies for the first time in Biraun’s life, he was but fourteen turns. He was frightened of the foreign beasts that were so large they could block out the light from the sun when they flew directly in front of it. Where some people ventured out of their modest dwellings to stare in awe of the creatures, Biraun locked himself inside and kept his little siblings close at hand. He was the only one at the house at that time since his dad was off in the shop working on an important project and his mother had gone to the local market for some supplies. When a knock came to his door, Biraun refused to answer it. The stranger was insistent to the point that he threatened Biraun until Biraun finally relented and opened the door. He came face to face with the exact thing he had despaired over. An enormous, leathery-brown dragon craned it’s thick, muscular neck towards him and studied him with that frightfully intelligent eyes.
Biraun was the chosen as a candidate by this massive beast, and he was far from being compliant when it came to going with these two strangers. The man who accompanied the monster was incredibly strict and absolutely positive in his belief that Biraun should go with him immediately. This was his destiny, he was told. A destiny Biraun had never imagined would come upon him, and wasn’t a welcome one either. The dragonrider was adamant and said that his family would suffer from horrible business if he refused to go to the Weyr. Biraun, who was raised in a rather superstitious family, was scared into finally agreeing to go with the dragonrider who was quick to strap him onto the dragon and escort him to Artemis Moonlight Weyr for the last hatching there would ever be in that Weyr for many years on Pern. Biraun watched as a neighbour took his siblings and scooted them into his small home, a home he would never see again.
Although the search rider was punished for his unacceptable behaviour with the candidate, Biraun was against being a candidate for the short stay he had at the Weyr before the Hatching. At the climactic moment, when he was standing on the burning hot sands in the Hatching Ground with one of the last clutches and the worn-out queen observing her young’s birth, it suddenly struck him. When that little bronze dragon slipped out of it’s egg and stumbled across the uneven earth towards him, he was frozen in a state of blissful disbelief. It was at that moment when he looked directly into the vulnerable little creature’s many-faceted eyes, swirling with fear and uncertainty, that he suddenly felt his own hatred and fear slowly melt away. From that point on, he and that little bronze dragon were bonded for life, and with his dear friend, he knew they would support each other through anything. Although still upset with being abruptly taken from his modest life out in the countryside, away from his loving family, B’raun knew he couldn’t go back, and his life was meant to be here in the Weyr now.
When B’raun had the opportunity to go on a dangerous journey to a new time with the powerful-willed Sitareh and her gold dragon Aviciath, he took up the challenge, predicting the fall of the Artemis Moonlight Weyr was inevitable. He quickly took flight with his bronze dragon, Klazariath, and went on the expedition of a lifetime, being one of the original founders of the new Weyr in a far off time, Araelen Weyr.
Position in Family: B’raun is the oldest son in a family of five. He had a brother four turns younger than him, and a sister almost six turns younger than him.
Dragon Colour: Bronze
Dragon's Name: Klazariath

Character Name: Raixeh. Shortened to R'xeh.
Age: Sixteen.
Gender: Male.
Preference: Straight.
Previous Position: Um... Holder?
Current Position: Candidate.
Marks: Two.
Appearance:
Raixeh has long-ish, chocolate brown, sun-bleached blonde streaked (in places) hair that’s totally unruly. It never fixes up how he wants it, or how others might want it, so he leaves it be, in all it’s tangled glory. In spite of the tangles and spikes it generally looks nice, sticking up a bit at odd angles, with bangs that constantly fall in his face no matter how many times he pushes them back, but it’s a good look on him. He’d tell you it’s like his hair just wants to be left alone, and in return it fits itself so that he looks good.
His eyes are a dark gray-blue. They show his emotion freely (he doesn’t bother to hide it, why should he?), sparking or snapping when he’s angry, seeming to darken when he’s sad, twinkling a little when he’s happy, clouding when he’s confused, brightening with surprise…
His body is fit, owing to the outdoorsy activities he does. He’s well muscled, though not in a bulky way. His skin is very tanned, and not easily burned. He’s tall, though with about an average build.
One odd feature is that he’s double-jointed in his arms, and able to twist his arms (from his elbow) and his wrists and bend his fingers in weird ways. He likes doing this to freak people out.
Another one is that he broke his left leg bone (below the knee) in half while trying to ride a runnerbeast in an extraordinarily stupid (though dashing) way that requires a lot of training, when he was about nine. The leg wasn’t set quite right, and is at a slightly outward thingyed angle, though he hasn’t let that stop him from doing what he wants. However, it can sometimes cause him trouble in balancing or doing certain physical activities.
Personality:
Raixeh is one of those people who, although they aren’t famous, popular or exceedingly good-looking, is fairly well-known in the Weyr anyway. Most likely because he’s one of the people most likely to get into some sort of trouble that spawns a wildly inaccurate tale from the local gossipers.
Raixeh is a daredevil to the end, always looking for something either fun and dangerous, or dangerous and fun to do. He’s not afraid to try new things, tease people, get in trouble, get back at people who’ve done something to him even if it’s a ridiculous little nitpicky, petty insult, make enemies or friends or do something stupid that might get him hurt.
He doesn’t care what other people think of him, so he has no problem in dealing with the rumors and crap that might spring up around him, and other stuff. He stands strong in his beliefs, and will not turn from them unless presented with solid proof, depending on what the subject is.
He is rash, bold, stubborn and somewhat proud, and brave. Some would call him foolish, for what he has done before and will do, but he’s not. He is actually quite intelligent, and has very good common sense, even if his actions don’t show it. How else does he always seem to get his work done on time, and with pretty good quality? He just wants to have some action and fun in his life, and doesn’t hesitate to do it his way.
He’s very difficult to control, no matter how many punishments he’s given or privelages and such are taken away. (He'll probably do what he's been banned from, anyway.) Very few of his higher-ups in rank earn his respect, though he does seem to know where the invisible line is and not to cross it… even if he puts a few toes over it now and again.
He’s fairly loyal to his friends, and more so to his family, though that doesn’t mean he’ll listen to them any more. He’s usually fairly calm, cool, collected and dangerous in a fight, verbal, or physical, and easily shoots back insults of his own to his enemies without skipping a beat, though he can be shaken. He rarely ever truly gets angry, even if he can become irritated or annoyed more quickly.
On the inside, he would come to the rescue of a friend in an instant, and help them with the best of his skills, no matter the cost. He’s not as hard as he seems, and is quite gentle in private or sensitive matters toward those close to him. He often has good advice, too, despite what people might think. Although, I wouldn’t advise taking all of it seriously, ‘cause some of it might include things that could get you in trouble, if you aren’t careful. Not that he means to get you in trouble, that’s just the way he is.
History:
(Same as Vinxi's.)
Position in Family: Oldest kid, by three and a half minutes.
Relation to Existing Character: Twin sister, Vinxi. (Not fraternal twins.)
Dragon's Name: Lamorkth
Dragon’s Appearance: Lamorkth is a vivid, reddish shade of bronze. His rich hide is powdered with darker bronze on his limbs, and his neck and belly are golden bronze in colour. He is an extremely well-built bronze, with powerful muscles easily visible in his wing joints and limbs. He is a larger than average bronze, and his head is square in shape. Due to his musculature, Lamorkth is broad and impressive in stature.
Dragon’s Personality: Fully aware of his intimidating, powerful appearance, Lamorkth has an unquenchable air of pride that borders on arrogance at times. He relishes the freedom granted by his stature, and he will lash out with a fiery temper when provoked. Lamorkth is very strong-willed, posing potential struggles between his rider and him if they disagree on matters. He can also be quite crafty in his pursuits, for Lamorkth is extremely self-gratifying and will pursue his whimsical desires, whatever they may be, with a single-minded determination. As well, Lamorkth is a brave fighter, and, despite the conflicts he may have from time to time with his rider, he is very committed to his rider and a loyal friend.
