Kasanis stalked into the runner beast stalls with patience after a few laps. He did not want patience to get in the way again. He led patience to her stall and he locked it not paying any attention whatsoever to anything around him. He was in an odd mood that day, and super tired. He yawned. Then he slowly started to walk out side to do something but he could not remember what. That was another problem. "Where am I?"kasanis said aloud. Then he fainted from tiredness. (aww...poor Kasanis )

(I hope you don't mind me making my debut in your thread. ) The sound of retreating footsteps brought forth a cautious rustle from a pile of straw. A set of wide blue eyes peered out. Ah good, the stable was empty again. Silent but for the sound of chewing runnerbeasts, the occasional stamp of a hoof. Empty. A second rustle, and the head of a black-and-tan canine puppy popped out of the straw. He sent a muffled woof at the stable door. "Tipri, shush!" a young voice squeaked. The owner of the straw-hidden blue eyes shot out of her safe haven to snatch the puppy back in. When no one rushed in to discover what canine dared disturb the runnerbeasts, both dog and child cautiously slipped forth. Niera carelessly brushed the straw from her hair and clothes, giggling as Tipri, the puppy, shook it from his coat as well. Neither of them were supposed to be in the stables, although to be honest neither of them were even supposed to be in this time. Oh well, what twelve-Turn-old really cared where she was supposed to be? The pair, confident that there was no one around now that the sound of bootsteps had ceased, bolted out the door. Too bad that loud thump she'd heard had been Kasanis falling to the ground. Luckily, she didn't step on him. Unluckily, she tripped headlong over the inert journeyman and sprawled in the dust. Not even that kept Niera down for long - the girl jumped back to her feet with an exclamation of surprise. "Shards, Tipri! He's not dead, is he?" She squatted on her heels next to the man and poked him in the side. Tipri trotted over to sit next to her, regarding this strange ground-lump curiously. His pink tongue darted out to lick it. Well, the ground-lump was human all right. Niera smothered a giggle, blue eyes dancing.

(I don't mind at all...What could a fainted man do?)
Patience neighed in surprise as a girl leaned over her owner. Kasanis could not hear or see anything. It was blank. It was nice. He was finally sleeping, which he didn't get any that night because he was too unusually hot and uncomfortable in bed, and when he had tried to sleep outside the blankets, and he got cold. Plus he, for some reason went to bed late. So that was why he was tired. He just got a few hours of sleep. So now there he was, laying on the dirt, looking like he was dead.
Patience whirled back, and neighed loudly, again.

The sudden neigh of a runnerbeast startled Niera back to her feet. One of the runners was looking very agitated. Strange, there was nothing around to bother it except Niera, Tipri, and the ground-lump. Maybe the unconscious man was the mare's owner, and she was worried or something. It was a very sweet thought, but the last thing Niera wanted was to get in trouble for being in the stable.
"Tipri, guard" she ordered the young canine. Tipri woofed in acknowledgment, sitting down in the dust next to their ground-lump to watch. Niera then moved slowly toward the mare, hand extended for her to sniff. "Hush now, sweeting," she crooned soothingly. Hopefully the mare would stay quiet.
But what was she going to do about the man lying in the dirt? He didn't seem to be dead, but she couldn't just leave him there. He could get trampled. So, abandoning the effort to quiet the runnerbeast, she hurried back into the stable to grab a bucket that had been filled with water for one of the runnerbeasts and dragged it back over to Tipri and his charge. Without a second thought, she dumped the contents over the ground-lump's head and shoulders.
And then it occurred to her that she could just as easily get in trouble from this man when he woke up as from anyone checking on his noisy runner. Oops.

"Hush now, sweeting,"
Patience stomped her foot. She refused to be quieted down by this girl. The runnerbeast saw the girl pick up the bucket and splash it on Kasanis. She neighed again as he jerked awake.
Kasanis sat up, spiting out water. "What..." He said sitting up. he looked up at a girl and then at her dog.
"where did you come from?" he asked the girl. He looked down at himself. He was soaking wet!
He saw a bucket by the girl. "You threw water on me!" he said angerly. He pulled himself up looked around for towel. When he found a small one, he looked more closely at the girl.
"why are you here? What is your name?"Kasanis demanded, frowning.

Niera wasn't in the least put off by the former ground-lump's reaction to being awakened. "Of course I threw water on you, you were asleep in the middle of the ground and everything, someone might have stepped on you and then where would you be? In the Infirmary with runner tracks down your back probably!" She sniffed haughtily, the very picture of injured dignity.
"Why were you on the ground anyway? Did you fall and hit your head? When I was little one of my brothers hit his head falling out of a tree and didn't wake up for three days. We were all ever so worried. Or did you drink too much? My uncle always drinks too much and then falls asleep where he was and sleeps for so very long. Is that why you were on the ground? I hope not, because he was really mean when he woke up." Her bright eyes peered guilelessly up at Kasanis. She wasn't too worried, really. If he was anything like her uncle and drank too much, he'd be really slow so he wouldn't be able to hit her or anything. Although even when he hadn't been drinking her uncle had always yelled at her for her chattering, which he said was worse than a sharding firelizard, so maybe it was just her uncle's personality. Hm. Well, anyway.
Niera bounced up on her toes a little, hands clasped behind her back. Little Tipri pressed against her legs, bristling at Kasanis, but Niera just ignored him. "Oh right, and my name's Niera, and I'm here because I live in the Weyr and everything so it's not like I'm doing anything wrong by being here. So what's YOUR name?"

Kasanis put a hand on his aching head. It had started when the girl started asking him questions. He was still tired.

'I guess I fainted"Kasanis frowned. "thank you for waking me up...I guess"
"No I did not drink! Why would you ask such a question?" Kasanis shook his head."I'm really tired since I didn't get enough sleep last night probably"
"Ok Niera, My name is Kasanis, but some call me kasane" Kasanis explained.
"Why are you here? Are you looking for something to do?"Kasanis asked.
Patience neighed. "I'm alright patience! no need to worry!" kasanis called sweetly to his runner.

"You're welcome," Niera chirped brightly in response to Kasanis' thanks. Well, at least someone knew how to show gratitude, even if it did seem a bit forced. "I'm not looking for anything to do - I was playing Hide-and-Go-Find with Tipri in the stable. We're bored with it now though, so I'm going to go fishing and catch the biggest fish ever." Tipri barked suddenly, as if to punctuate her claim. "See, Tipri thinks so too." Cheerfully, Niera swished around what was left of the water in the bucket. The sight of a green flying high in the distance stopped her movement, and the girl watched in silence until it winked between. She turned glowing eyes back on Kasanis and asked him, with a little hop-skip, "Isn't it great, Kasanis? With the dragons and all? It's like an adventure every day here. I'm so glad I came here!" She grinned, giggled a little, and gave another hop-skip, a dreamy sort of look on her face. "Do you know how people get picked to be dragonriders, Kasanis?" (OOC: I'm a little out of it today, just getting over being sick, so sorry if it jumps around a lot. )
