((You know those characters that you randomly think of and then....they won't leave you alone until you create them? ...Yeah, Cora's one of those. XD;;
I'm not sure if she'd constitute a special request application or not. I don't even know if there's such thing as a headwoman apprentice. Cora wishes. XD Basically she'll just be sticking her nose in places it shouldn't be, assuming authority over everyone (regardless of rank) and being a general pain in the butt. Just without the official title or true power. =P ))
Character Name: Cora
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Preference: Males
Previous Position: Sucks at life
Current Position: Self-proclaimed headwoman's apprentice
Appearance: Cora is the kind of girl that's easy to overlook, as she can be described as nothing but average. Average in weight, just a little above in height, light brown hair with no special gleam, sea-green eyes that are rather pretty and change with her clothes but whose eyes don't? She walks briskly, as though there's always something important that needs immediate tending to. Her hair is cropped short, often secured in a make-shift bandanna (Although this is a fashion preference, as it's really not necessary). But watch out, as unimposing as this young woman appears to be, she's got quite a set of lungs. And I don't mean for singing. Her glares can make even the strongest of men quiver in their boots. She walks tall and has pristine posture, chin slightly lifted, hands always occupied with important duties. A surprisingly intimidating young woman, once you’ve been on the receiving end of her temper.
Personality: Cora is everyone's bossy big sister who tells mom when you do something wrong. She's a stickler when it comes to making sure chores are finished. And although she'll pick up the slack when others aren't efficient, Cora will also be the one to whip slackers into shape, rest assured. She's loud, she's clever, she's capable, and she's D’gellin's worst nightmare. Cora does, occasionally, have her gentle moments. Helping raise some of her younger siblings has instilled her with the ability to deal well with children. One might even argue she has a soft spot for them. Not that anyone will get the chance to see that side of her though! Cora's a relentless nag who's convinced she knows everything. And she'll stand firm to her convictions, even when proven wrong. She's the last person to back down, mostly because she doesn't ever back down! However, for all her bravado, Cora has one itsy bitsy little problem: she’s terrified of dragons. And she's living in a weyr. Oh boy...
History: Cora was the first born of two loving, typical holder folk. Though a little clumsy and not the most beautiful creature to walk the earth, her parents had high hopes that once their daughter matured she could be married into a prosperous family, and bring subsequent wealth to their own family. Cora's parents were by no means forceful about this; it wasn't a necessity. But as Cora grew, alongside her two-turns-younger sister, Cora herself began to strive for this goal. For Cora had a little problem. And this problem came in the form of her graceful, beautiful, all but perfect younger sister. The rivalry, however one-sided, drove Cora forward. She became a self-proclaimed expert on all there was to know. She put herself into situations she wouldn't have otherwise. She did everything she could to prove that she was better, even though she wasn't sure who exactly she was trying to prove this to.
Her efforts appeared to be on the verge of success when a young man began courting her. He was handsome, charming, and successful, a journey-man-to-be; perfect. However, the longer she enjoyed his company, the less interested he appeared in the young woman. And before Cora knew it, she was watching her man walk off with her younger sister. Ashamed and alone, Cora turned to the only person she could to get her away: her newly appointed dragonrider brother, D'gellin. It took all of Cora's self-control to keep herself stationary as the intimidating bronze Lancetoth burst out of between and landed across the field. And it sapped every bit of her strength to make that horrifying jump into the darkness astride the monstrous creature, but she'd made it to Araelen. Where she promptly took up a self-proclaimed apprenticeship in the field most suited to a loud, bossy, know-it-all such as herself: headwoman.
