Character Name: T'ril ( Tyrilen )
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Preference: He's probably like a 5 on that scale. ( AKA pretty dang gay. :3 )
Previous Position: Slacker
Current Position: Wingrider
Appearance: At first glance, T'ril seems like a classic villain. He's pale to the point of looking like a corpse, a comparison worsened by his black hair and dark eyes. He's a bit on the short side at 5' 7" and he tries to keep his form healthy sized, since he hates being mistaken for a zombie as much as the next guy. The greenrider keeps his hair cut short for visibility on dragonback, though it's been awhile since his last cut. He stays fit through normal dragonrider training, going so far as volunteering for fire-stoning duty sometimes.
Personality: T'ril is a flirt. Like the green he rides, he can be shameless. He mostly tries to be subtle, but occasionally acts out just to get a rise out of people. He likes to joke around and, even if it's not sexual, to be in contact with others. This is not to say he doesn't make casual touching into something else every once in a while, but it's not a necessary thing for him.
Of course, like all humans, T'ril has another side- one that won't be seen except by the closest of his friends. The greenrider acts like he's so carefree because of his father's attitude towards Vereth. In his mind, if T'ril acts like it was all his idea to ride a "lowly green," then others will overlook the reflection of his character. Like all dragonriders, T'ril cannot imagine any way that Vereth could be improved, but does hide some insecurities about what others will think of her, if they can't see her merits.
History: T'ril was a weyr inhabitant from birth. His mother was a pretty greenrider like himself, named Siarille. His father was a bronzerider by the name of T'lon. His parents left him to be raised in the lower caverns, but occasionally did take a hand in raising him. In such a way, T'ril grew up like most weyrbrats- sheltered and a bit spoiled. He couldn't see how holders lived like they did, and in this way never knew the hardships of trying to scratch out a living or learning a craft.
When T'ril was only twelve years old, his parents pushed him into a hatching. T'ril was still trying to figure out why he was suddenly suitable to girls, much less dragons. He knew that one day he'd be a dragonrider, but he couldn't understand why it had to be this day!
Unfortunately, or fortunately in T'ril's private thoughts, he didn't impress at this hatching. Or the next. Or the next. Finally, when he was almost sixteen, at his fourth hatching, his parents had almost given up hope. But then Vereth made a spectacular entrance and a beeline to T'ril. T'ril and his mother were overjoyed that his day had come and he was joining the ranks of riders. His father, not so much. T'ril couldn't understand what the problem was- after all, wasn't Mother a greenrider? What was wrong with that? Only a scant few days after the boy graduated from Weyrling to full-fledged rider did the icy relations finally blow up.
He and his father had a huge yelling match over Vereth in the kitchens, when his father admitted that he had wanted T'ril to follow in his footsteps, or at least become a brownrider and a good wingsecond. The argument escalated quickly, and before a large crowd could gather, his father went so far as to imply that T'ril was lax in certain areas and a leech on Weyr resources.
Obviously, this didn't sit well with T'ril, and so he leapt at the first chance to jump ahead, though he over estimated the time by a few months.
Position in Family: His parents were both dragonriders, so he's sure he's got at least a few half siblings about.
Pets: Let's just say that T'ril was never the best at caring for his pets.
Alignment: Apathetic, but if he had to chose, probably Rebel.
Dragon Colour: Green
Dragon Personality: Vereth, like most greens, is flighty. She's a complete flirt, thinking first of potential flight material and only second of duty. She has a vain streak, and prides herself on her deep lime tone. When not flirting or primping, though, Vereth can be exceedingly calm and collected for a dragon of her color. If she's not interested in you, she is quite capable of holding an intelligent and sane conversation. She privately thinks the queens are stealing "her" bronzes, but hold other greens in high regards. She enjoys the company of the non-metallic colors more, because she loathes censoring herself. Her vanity extends to her rider, to the point where if anyone says a word against him ( or his appearance ) she'll practically bite their head off.
