Character Name: Aido
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Preference: Women
Previous Position: Holdbrat
Current Position: Candidate
Appearance: Aido is very small for his age, and many people find him adorable. However, he wants to shed this and someday become “handsome” and “strong” rather than “little” and “cute.” He is fairly pale, and has a very light dusting of freckles on his arms and legs.
He wears bizarre outfits a lot, but each and every one looks good on him. He also has a habit of wearing riding hats and goggles on his head regularly, but everyone knows that both cap and goggles belonged to his mother, and do not question it. Some of the holdgirls also dressed him up in a girl’s tunic and bonnet one day, and the older boys questioned his dignity and were publicly embarrassed for him. However, everyone has to admit he looks very good in them.
Aido has a curly mass of blonde hair that sticks out of his cap (or bonnet) and frames the heart-shaped face that he shares with his sister. His eyes are bright blue, set above a small nose and a large mouth. His large mouth is usually in a very wide smile, and makes everyone laugh all the time.
Personality: Aido is very nearly a polar opposite of his sister. He is playful and happy, and people sometimes wonder just how he could be related to Momo. He is very much like other boys his age, an occasional prankster but means well.
He loves to play games with other people, and has a gift to make people laugh. He may not be a genius, but he knows enough to save himself from being called stupid. He is also fiercely loyal to those he loves, particularly Momo. His goal is to have Momo be loved by everyone, but this doesn’t seem to be working.
He is outgoing, happy, protective, and kind, and this attracts people of all sorts into his friendship and enjoy it.
History: Aido was born mid-fall, the first and only child of a woman named Doria. The young bride was only 17, but was very excited to have a child of her own. Unfortunately, the father, Ailan, was not very faithful, but Doria was optimistic with thoughts about the baby, making up for the father's lack of interest in it.
She was a marvelous mother, and Aido grew up loved from the very beginning. He was a sweet, bright-eyed child and Doria’s pride and joy. Four years after giving birth to Aido, Doria was shocked to discover Ailan had come home one day, dragging along a young, angry girl who was Aido’s half-sister Momo. Momo had been wandering the streets after being kicked out due to bad behavior, and she had, upon learning her origins, pleaded with her father to let her live with him. Annoyed, but pitiful, Ailan had brought the girl back home, hoping it wouldn't be as bad, since Momo was born before he had married Doria.
Doria took Momo in out of pity, satisfied with two children now. Aido became close to both his sister and his mother, and was thrilled when his mother announced that she was pregnant again. This time, Aido got to help with the preparations for a new baby, and even got Momo excited. He was positive life was perfect.
Then the unthinkable happened. Labor began, and mother and baby died. Aido and Momo were devastated, and he clung to Momo as Ailan, who had married another woman promptly after, kicked them out (the new woman did not like these strange children), they moved from foster home to foster home. No one wanted to keep Momo for long, but he didn’t want to lose his last close family member, but this life kept the pair on the move all the time.
Eventually, Momo decided that Aido at least should have a stable home. After seeking out a good home, she had Aido live with a kind woman in the Hold while she would continue moving around in search for a place to live in a new Hold.
Though Aido was lonely, his sister leaving meant people were no longer afraid to be near him. He was able to make friends his own age, and he was able to reluctantly live a good life. But when the dragons reappeared in the sky, he knew without hesistation that he needed to do this, and is determined that with the dragon he hopes to Impress, he will find Momo and bring her to join him, reunited at last.
