Character Name: S'pren ( Formerly Sipren )
Age: 20, not quite 21.
Gender: Male
Preference: Males.
Previous Position: Journeyman Weaver
Current Position: Wingrider
Appearance: S'pren, though considered to be on the shorter side for most of his adolescence, recently had a huge growth spurt, and now stands at about six feet. His body type is slender, though by no means is he weak. It's just that he has almost no body fat. His lifestyle wasn't one that prompted laziness, as a dragonrider. And he'd never been much of an eater. His tousled hair is a bright blond with darker streaks throughout, cut off at his ears. His eyes are blue, though very pale in shade.
Personality: S'pren is a trickster to the core. With a care-free attitude matching his whimsical appearance, he's rarely seen doing any work. He's laid back in the best way possible and is known somewhat as the go-to guy if you're feeling down. He's also very spur-of-the-moment, leading to some sticky situations that he's so far managed to charm his way out of. First impressions are very important to the brownrider, because he tends to decide what he likes or dislikes very quickly. Despite his aversion to work ( or indeed, any sort of strenuous activity ) during crisis or threadfall, he can become very serious. He retains his calmness, however, making him an ideal leader- if need be. He hates responsibility, though, thus making him an ideal brownrider.
History: His mother was named Jonna, and his father Tiem. They were both pleasant people, neither caring much for politics or high-ranking positions. They did their jobs- harper and herdbeast breeder respectively, happily and competently. Sipren grew up in this quiet life at the small farmhold for his first ten years, moving to the more populated Celos just a few weeks after his tenth birthday. His mother had an old weaver friend living there who was looking for an apprentice at the local Weavercrafthall. At the age of fourteen, he received word from home that his mother was severely ill. He returned at all haste, but he'd only been back for one day when she passed on.
When S'pren had turned seventeen and just received his journeyman status at the crafthall, a searchrider offered to take him to the weyr. He briefly considered staying and attempting a mastership at some point, but in the end decided that the lifestyle of the dragonriders was more fitting to his personality. A mastership was a lot of work. Getting a dragon and practicing some archaic drills was not. The hatching occurred about two sevendays after his arrival, and S'pren was late. An event in and of itself not uncommon, but coupled with the fact that it was a hatching, and you've got some trouble. S'pren arrived in time to be bonded to his dear Giyriath, and found himself delighted. Not just a means of avoiding work, the boy and his dragon were matched perfectly. Their pranks were soon an expected thing at Artemis Moonlight.
Around the time that he graduated from weyrling status to full-fledged rider, he began to hear whisperings of a new weyr. His interest piqued, S'pren approached Sitareh and was quickly engrossed in her plans. What a wonderful prank... disappearing, then returning on the eave of the next pass! He couldn't resist, and thus S'pren proceeded with the jump.
Since his mother's passing, S'pren's relationship with his father soured. He blamed his father for not saving his mother, or at least calling him back sooner. His father disliked being around the boy because of the similarities between S'pren and his deceased wife. The dragonrider sometimes regrets that he didn't patch up the family rift before his jump forward, but for the most part, he's moved on.
Position in Family: I'd rather he be an only child since I have this weird dislike of anyone but me playing my character's family, but if that's an issue, oldest child.
Pets: He used to have a tame feline named Rikak, but left it back in the past with his old mentor.
Alignment: Loyalist.
Dragon Colour: Brown
Dragon Personality: Giyriath is just as sneaky as S'pren. Though he might sometimes put on a well-mannered act, the dragon is really the more playful of the pair, which is saying something. Always a willing accomplice in S'pren's hijinks, even inventing his own, Giyriath is one of the more subversive dragons, probably why he also enjoyed the time-skip as much as S'pren. The dragon also enjoys in meeting lady dragons- heads up, greens!- and swimming. Exploring new places is also a hobby of the brown's, but he rarely does this, as S'pren thinks it's a lot of work to go see more of the same- Jungle, jungle, and... you guessed it, jungle. This has never been a problem for the spunky brown.
