//i couldn't resist the rest of the family. XDDD
Character Name: Kanamar && Deverel
Age: 18 and 3 Minutes && 18
Gender: Male && Male
Preference: Both && Both
Previous Position: Son of a Minor Holder && Son of a Minor Holder
Current Position: Journeymen Harper && Journeymen Harper
Appearance: The twin's look exactly alike. Down to the last freckle they each have underneath their left eye, right at the corner, they are indistinguishable even to those who know them. Possible Crown being the only one to be able to tell you the differences, when they aren't talking and showing you who is who, you can't do it. Both have different personality's, but they have perfected the art of looking, mimicking, doing exactly everything like the other. They have gone so far as to be able to perfectly mimic, down to voices and movement, other people. Tall, willowy, they look much like Hauze. A darker color blond then their siblings, they don't have the red tinge that Crown has, or the white color that touches Hauze. No, molten gold flows from the crown of these two boys, a darker, richer golden that moves like silk wheat. The two are tall, shorter than the six foot three inch brother by an inch and a half. Six foot one and a half, the two have clear blue eyes that are tinged with green. Unlike the older and younger siblings, they don't range, staying the same blank color. Pretty to look at, but nothing behind them.
Willowy, graceful, the two carry an air all of themselves. Not quite like their sister's feral prowl, but not their brother's elegant beat, they have a tune that is all to themselves. Straight noses dead center in the middle of their face, high cheekbones, all straight angles, they aren't bad looking at all.
Personality: Kanamar is one of the most stable and (mostly) serious person you will ever have the fortune(good or bad) to meet. This independent, rocklike character has many sterling qualities. He is normally confident, strong willed and calm. Hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious, he takes it to the extreme, and is capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal he has set for himself. He is the major finisher of most projects started by his more 'pioneering' brother; with firm stick-to-it-ness he is very much so the backbone of his sibling.
Kanamar makes of himself, resourceful, determined; setting high standards for himself and others. He strives always for honesty in his criticism of self, and he respects discipline from above and demands it from those beneath him. In his methodical, tough, stubborn, unyielding way, he persists against personal hardship, putting his family and his work before his own needs and welfare to reach his objectives long after others have given up and fallen by the wayside. In fact when practical ability allied with the drive of ambition are required, Kanamar is the person to speak to. He plans carefully to fulfill his ambitions, he is economical without meanness, and able to achieve great results with minimum effort and expense. Because of his organizing ability he is able to work on several projects simultaneously.
He has a great respect for authority but may not, if he reaches a high rank, be willing to listen to other opinions on things he is directly responsible for. As the ranking authority figure in a given situation, he expects his underlings to be as self disciplined as he himself is, and to perform every task undertaken to the highest standard.
Kanamar is, nevertheless, fair as well as demanding. Among his equals he is not always the most pleasant of work fellows for he is reserved and too conservative, valuing tradition in some aspects more than innovation, however valuable the latter, and he is often humorless. There is also a tendency to pessimism, melancholy and even unhappiness which he is not always unable to keep to himself, especially if he fails personally. In the extreme this trait can make him a very depressed individual; ecstatic happiness alternating with the most wretched kind of misery which is so subconsciously buried that he can only stay in his room and try to breathe. For the above reason, this capable man spends many hours in meditation, gathering the strength to control such inner emotions.
The swings in mood are not the only reason some enjoy labeling Kanamar as capricious. He can be surprisingly and suddenly witty and subtle for the quiet, reserved individual he seems to be, and he also has a tendency to ruin things by unexpected and utterly irresponsible bouts of flippancy. The temptation to do this is resisted with iron self-control. Another unexpected quality in him is an interest in the occult which persists in spite of his naturally skeptical turn of mind.
His intellects is sometimes very subtle. He thinks profoundly and deeply, throughly exploring all possibilities before deciding on a 'safe' alternative. He has a good memory and an insatiable yet methodical desire for knowledge. Kanamar is rational, logical and clearheaded, have good concentration, delight in debate in which he can show off his cleverness by luring his adversaries into traps and confounding them with logic.
In personal relationships he is often ill-at-ease, if not downright unhappy. He is somewhat self-centered but not excessively so, wary and cautious around people he does not know very well, preferring not to meddle with others and in turn not to allow interference with himself, thus he tends to attract people who do not understand him. Casual acquaintances he treats with diplomacy, tact and, above all, reticence. He makes few good friends but is intensely loyal to those he does make, and he can become a bitter and powerful enemy. Kanamar dislikes the opposite sex and tests the waters of affection gingerly before judging the temperature right for a relationship at all. Once in one, however, he is faithful, though inclined to jealousy.
His occupation choice as a Harper was chosen because he was always strongly attracted to music. He excels as a bureaucrat, especially where projects demanding long-term planning and working are concerned, and his skill in debate and love of dialectic makes him good in the subtle politics around Pern. He is an excellent teacher, and enjoys having the authority to manage and organize without too much intimacy with staff members. He is talented with his hands, and the wit that is rare to come out makes it easy to make people laugh.
He has a fear of Healer's, known for actually violently fighting not to go, although he is never like this any other time. A hemophiliac, this is not a good thing.

Deverel is in a series of words dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand he produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. Many times, he has often been described to have the graces and faults of the young. When he is are good, he can be very attractive; when he is bad Deverel is more the worse for being the charmer he is. Like a child, he is lively, and happy, although he has flashes of being egocentric, imaginative and restless. He takes up new activities enthusiastically but lack application, constantly needing new interests, flitting from project to project as apparently purposelessly as a butterfly dancing from flower to flower. To him, life is a game which must always be full of fresh moves and continuous entertainment, free of labor and routine. "Changing runners in the middle of the stream" is another small quirk in his distinct personality which makes decision making, and sticking to a decision, particularly hard for him.
Since he lacks the quality of conscientiousness, he is apt to fight a losing battle in any attempts he makes to be moral (in the widest sense of the word). His good qualities are attractive and come easily to him. He is affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with his own life and comforts. He learned quickly to use his outward attractiveness to gain his own end, and when striving for these he will use any weapon in their armory - unscrupulous lying, and cunning evasiveness; escaping blame by contriving to put it on other people, wrapped up in all the charm he can turn on. In his better moments he may strive to be honest and straightforward, but self-interest is almost always the victor. If things go against him, he sulks like a young boy.
Also like a child, he demands attention, admiration, and the spending on him of time, energy and money, throwing tantrums if he don't get what he wants. He reflects every change in his surroundings, like a chameleon, and can become pessimistic, sullen, peevish and materialistically self-centered if circumstances force him to struggle in any way. If the conditions of life become really adverse, his strength of will may desert them entirely. He can become uncertain of himself, either withdrawn, or a nervously excitable worrier, sullenly discontented, hard and irritable, with "Self" looming ever larger in his struggles. On the other hand, his versatility can make him very adaptable, adjusting himself to control the world around him by means of his inherent ingenuity and cleverness. It all really depends on what his twin wants and doesn't, and what the other male is feeling.
Deverel has a keen, intuitive, brilliant intelligence and he loves cerebral challenges. But his concentration, though intense for a while, does not last. His mental agility and energy give him a voracious appetite for knowledge from youth onward, though he dislikes the labor of learning. He easily grasps almost everything requiring intelligence and mental dexterity, and is often able to marry manual skills to his qualities of mind. His intellect is strongly analytical and sometimes gives him so great an ability to see both sides of a question that he vacillates and finds it hard to make decisions. But Deverel's intelligence may very well be used to control and unify the duality of his natures into a most efficient unit. If faced with difficulties, he has little determination to worry at a problem until he finds a solution - he will pick the brains of others. In his intellectual pursuits, as in other departments of his life, he risks becoming dilettantes, losing himself in too many projects which he'll follow until they become difficult.
In love he is fickle, not intentionally so but because of the basic inconsistency of his emotional nature, which has an amoral aspect to it. Their is a side to Deverel which can become deeply involved emotionally, and another, hostile to sentimentality, which stands back from a romantic situation, laughing at it and the protagonists in it, including himself while analyzing it intellectually. He is much like a Gemini, and if you have ever met one, they take nothing seriously. So, in love, in spite of his temporary depth of feeling (for the intensity of involvement lasts only while it is new) he is superficial, light-hearted, cool, flirtatious and unimaginative in the understanding of the pain he may give others. He likes intrigue, the excitement of the chase, but once he has caught the prey, he looses interest and look around for the next creature to pursue. In less serious situations he makes a witty, entertaining companion, a good acquaintance rather than a friend. Even at his worst he is never dull - there is usually playfulness below the surface, and he can be a brilliant conversationalist - but he can also be quarrelsome, prattle, boast, lie, and cheat. This is part of the reason that he is a hypochondriac, constantly believing he is sick.
He can be successful in many walks of life though his general characteristics tend to make him unreliable. He is a skilled manipulator of language, in speech and writing, and is a talented debater, diplomat, orator, teacher, and writer, which is part of the reason he went to be a Harper. In business, any work which combines quick-wittedness with a change of surroundings suits him; working with public in any capacity is right up his alley. Because he is dispassionate, logical, rational and analytical he is good at astronomy, mapping the stars. Deverel takes danger no more seriously than anything else and while a bad thing, he really doesn't fear thread. He's been in danger before, self-inflicted, and tends to live. As a Harper he excels in music, and he is known for his abilities to do research of a skeptical kind. Negatively, he can sometimes degenerate into a confidence trickster, and a thief.
