Character Name: Minelli (Min for short)
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Preference: Straight (Males)
Previous Position: Apprentice Harper (about to be made Journeyman, however, a year after if she hadn’t been searched)
Current Position: Candidate
Appearance: Minelli has medium lengthed blonde hair. Her figure is a result of being inside, her skin being very light, her figure petite and just barely muscular (though she is surprisingly strong). She has bright blue eyes that are deep sapphire colored. She is flexible enough to dance, and even though she’s a bit on the short side, she has long legs to accommodate for it.
Personality: Minelli is a person who is just bursting with music. She loves to sing and dance, and she isn’t afraid to speak out, though she doesn’t normally. A really great friend, though she doesn’t flirt (actually, she is absolutely clueless if a guy likes her), and reflects her friends emotions. She has major guilt trips, and is an extremely nice person.
History: Minelli’s father, Gorden, was a harper, her mother, Julianne, a trader. When she was three, her mother took her for a trading route. Her mother was killed in an upturning of the “caravan”, the runners having trampled all of them. Min was lucky to have lived throughout it all, but something even worse happened. Traumatized by the whole ideal, the young girl did not speak for nearly five years. She went to live with her father and older brother, surrounded by music and dancing. Her father was always hoping that she would speak again. But she didn’t for almost five years, and Gorden found he had forgotten what her voice sounded like.
But finally, when she was eight, she spoke. At a gathering, her father was singing, she sitting at a table to the side. In the middle of the song, her father’s voice cracked; every thing went silent, the instruments cutting off immediately. Gorden was known as a wonderful singer, so everyone was shocked at the sudden lapse in his voice. Min, not wanting the gather to end, started to sing. Speaking for the first time in five years, her voice was definitely different, much more mature, but didn’t even falter. She had a wonderful singing voice, she found out that night, and as everyone turned and stared, her father was grinning with pride.
So ever since then, she has sung and spoken to her heart’s content. Still terrified of caravans and runners (or at least the more rowdy ones), she has gotten over her speaking problem, and followed in her father’s footsteps as an apprentice harper. She studied hard and excelled, and a year before she would probably be turned into a Journeyman (Journeywoman, either or), she was searched by a dragonrider. Thinking that, maybe the weyr could use some song in their everyday life, she decided to go.
Oh, and when she was around thirteen, she impressed a green flit that her father gave her. She named her Mini, since she was so small that people that she wouldn’t survive, and she was emerald green. But she had a surprisingly beautiful singing voice.
Position in Family: Youngest of two
RP History: Already stated
Familiarity with Pern: Already Stated
Agility Preference: Creativity, Rescue, Agility
Desired Dragon Colour: When asked, she says green or blue, but secretly she’d love a queen. Though she doesn’t want to get her hopes up.
Reason for this Preference: For the blue/green, so she won’t be utterly bound to the weyr, and when permitted, would be able to go back to the harper hall to visit her family. As for the queen, it might put her in a nice dilemma, and…hey, maybe queen’s have good singing voices?
Syllable Numbers for Name: Three would be good, not too short or too long.
