Character Name: R’dric (formerly Rodric)

Appearance: Though not done growing, R’dric already reaches to a formidable 5’10”. He is average in build, not scrawny but not bulky either. He has light hazel eyes and dark blonde hair that he keeps short and spiky. His face is slender, with a long yet not overly large nose. A thin scar runs the length of his right shoulder, from a time he fell while climbing the walls of the Weyr.
Personality: Confident and suave, R’dric is your typical Weyrbred charmer. He was raised among dragons and already felt like he could fly even before Impression. Nothing really gets him down, as he can laugh off uncomfortable situations and even challenging jibes from his peers. Unfortunately, R’dric sometimes takes his good humour too far, for this young man has a hard time being serious. Life is a big game to him, and he’s not eager for responsibility any time soon.
History: Born of a green flight, R’dric was raised in the past of Artemis Moonlight Weyr. He was fostered off soon after birth but had regular opportunity to interact with both of his parents, who didn’t bother to hide their identities from him. His mother took part in raising him from time to time, when she wasn’t too busy with her duties, and his father often stopped in to wrestle with the boy or walk with him around the Weyr.
From a young age, R’dric knew that he was going to be a dragonrider, just like his parents. More specifically, R’dric was certain he would impress a brown, just like his father. He had no desire for the expectations placed upon bronzeriders, but he was impressionable enough to hope for a dragon with some rank and prestige among his friends. When Clutches became few and far between, it was an easy choice for R’dric to make the jump forward in time with his parents. The gamble paid off, as R’dric Impressed at Araelen’s very first Hatching. Toruth taught R’dric some of that responsibility he’d been loathe to take on, but the lad was surprised to find that it didn’t weigh on him when he was helping his dragon. If it was possible, R’dric became even more self-assured. This did not mean, however, that the Weyrleaders thought him as capable as he believed, for he did not rise through the ranks as quickly as he thought he would.

Dragon's Name: Toruth
Dragon Colour: Toruth is a fairly even mix of two different shades of brown: chestnut and klah brown. The lighter, klah shade covers his back, the back of his neck, the top half of his tail, and his legs to the elbow or knee joint. Perceptibly darker chestnut brown covers what is left, giving him an almost sun-faded appearance on top. Toruth is of average size, with a strangely elongated build. In comparison to his longer body, Toruth’s neck is slightly short.
Dragon Personality: Already with his head in the clouds before he had learned to fly, Toruth is a dreamer. Although he can focus when he wants to, the brown is often found daydreaming in lessons, which could come much to his rider’s discomfort if this occurs in flight. Many of his daydreams are reflections on his lofty goals, for Toruth is fairly ambitious. He is also a very headstrong dragon. His stubbornness may cause some struggles with his rider, for it will be difficult to persuade him away from something once his mind is set. This will include romantic pursuits, for once committed, Toruth will not be denied.
