Kimber looked down at the white canine who was whining at her feet. She reached down and gently petted the canine's ears. "I know Dazzle, you miss your sister," she said softly, sighing. Truth be told, she missed her own sister as well and couldn't believe that her twin had insisted on staying, in fact she had been very surprised that her twin hadn't come with her.
She shook her head again and looked around the room. It was the one that had been designated for the Dining Cavern and the small lunch was being served. It would be a while before they had the bounty for a feast, but it was still something. The canine leaned against Kimber's leg, shivering slightly. Ah, yes, the cold. Kimber truly didn't care for the cold having been raised on the Southern Continent, but she supposed she would get used to it, just like she got used to being a dragon rider.
She lightly brushed her brown's mind. Ferth was taking a break from his labors as well, soaking what little sun light he could to warm himself. She knew that she had worried her dear heart, being so sick. She looked down at herself, still recovering from the poison. It was gone from her system, but the effects remained. She had lost a lot of weight, gone now was that little bit of baby fat that had stayed with her, and now her figure was lean, almost gaunt.
She scowled and scratched Dazzle's ears gently. She really should go back to Araelen and drag her sister here.

Crown was in the Dining Hall, talking to the different riders one at a time. They needed to know she wasn't going to be another useless Goldrider that they've seen before - it helped that she could be kind when she wanted to, and that Ezelth was helping her with names (something she was miserable at.) She finished with K'l'sran, and nodded to the Brownrider before crossing over to get a cup of a klah, taking a sip as she scanned the room. That was everyone... Ah, there was another one. Grabbing another cup, and taking a gulp of her own, she crossed over to the room where a girl was standing with a white canine. She offered her the klah with a smile, and nodded.
Ferth's. Her name is Kimber. "Hello, Kimber. How are you and Ferth settling in?" She went down on a knee as she spoke, offering her hand to the dog. The Weyrwoman was wearing a thicker long sleeved tunic and heavy canvas pants - she was comfortable enough, and quickly getting used to the cold. She didn't like it as much as she liked being in the warmth, but Ezelth assured her that the dragon's were hardier than humans, despite how they might complain, and the cold was not truly bothering them that much. They could and would freeze, but they could take much worse conditions than Their's.
Ezelth reached out to Ferth, brushing his mind with Her's. And Greeting's to you, Ferth. How are you and Your's doing? Crown - focused on the girl - waited. This was important - she needed to get to know the people, the new members of her Weyr. Such an odd phrase - Her Weyr. Not weyr, but Weyr. She had people counting on her, people who trusted her enough... And the woman would not let them down. She was ready for this - and her and Ezelth would not back down.

Kimber blinked in surprise as she was approached by Crown, truly shocked that the Gold rider was taking the time to talk to her. She smiled and accepted the cup of klah gladly, curling both of her hands around it. "Hello Lady Crown," she said as cheerfully as she could muster through the fatigue. "Ferth and I are settling fairly well, going to take some getting used to the cold though, especially for when I want to play my lute," she chuckled and took a sip of the warm klah.
Dazzle tilted her head and sniffed at the hand offered to her. Her tail tapped a rapid tempo on the floor as she nudge against the woman's hand, her tongue lolling out in a version of a canine smile. Dazzle loved attention.
Mine and I are doing well. She worries for her clutch sister and wishes to go see her, but she is unused to being away from her sibling, Ferth said to the gold, unaware that he could possibly get his rider in trouble with his statement, but the brown was sometimes too naive for his own good. I hope that you and yours are well also, Ezelth.
Kimber nearly choked on her klah as she heard what Ferth told the Queen, but she quickly caught herself. "You picked a perfect location for the Weyr Lady Crown. Despite the cold we'll get used to, we are well protected here," she said with a soft smile.

The tall woman ignored the surprised look and tried to smile back, careful to give each person a chance. If this was going to work, they would need it - she needed to make her judgements clear, and she was going to make them fair as possible. She would be a Weyrwoman that was involved, and she would make sure that her whole heart was in it, and the rest of the Weyr knew that as well. 'Hello Lady Crown.' Quick eyes noticed the tired girl, and she smilied again, a deeper smile. She was working at least - good girl. 'Ferth and I are settling fairly well, going to take some getting used to the cold though, especially for when I want to play my lute.' Crown nodded, taking an easier stance, laughing quietly with her. "I understand that - I'm wearing three layers right now." The offered hand was nudged at, and Crown smiled down softly at the dog, rubbing her head softly. "Hello beautiful."
Mine and I are doing well. She worries for her clutch sister and wishes to go see her, but she is unused to being away from her sibling. Ezelth stiffened then, on the ledge that she was settled on, eyes tinging red. It irritated her that she would worry about a sibling, when Her's was seperated from her older brother right now - it was not a sad moment, but an angry one. The other rider was a traitor, a person who did not believe that they were right, who would stand under a Murderer, and Ezelth's tones grew slightly frosty as she slipped into Her's mind and relayed the words.
I hope that you and yours are well also, Ezelth. The Senior Queen took the words with a regal air, and answered back clipped. Better now, that we are not under the control of one who would poison her own Clutchsibling.
The Weyrwoman indeed, had grown an inch or so, no longer relaxed, taking in the sudden alarm on the girl's face with no emotion on her own. 'You picked a perfect location for the Weyr Lady Crown. Despite the cold we'll get used to, we are well protected here.' The woman nodded again, but her mind was on a different track. "What did your Brown mean?"

Ferth ducked his head and cowered slightly at the Queen's clipped, regal answer to his comment. He sent her apologies quietly then turned silent.
Dazzle thumped her tail against the flood, her whole body shivered from the joy of getting attention and she leaned her head into the petting, nearly falling over when it stopped. She looked at Crown then back at Kimber, her ears drooping as she picked up the tension between the two women. The canine leaned against Kimber's legs comfortingly.
Kimber sighed softly and gripped her mug of klah between both hands. "Ferth meant that I miss my twin and that I would love to go kidnap her for her own good. But I'm not going to do something so stupid I promise you Lady Crown. My sister is now a traitor," she said, her voice breaking slightly as she spoke the last sentence.
She blinked quickly to banish tears, she'd already upset the Weyrwoman enough, no use in adding fuel to the fire by crying.
