Caltrain was in the middle of nodding a polite greeting to F'lan, when the rider said something about Loana bothering him....
He frowned slightly, perplexed. "Oh, my, no, she didn't bother me at all," he said. "In fact, I was just about to ask Loana if she'd like to sit with Rapture and me after she gets her bubblies. The seats seem to be filling up quickly. You're invited as well, of course, if you have the time."
Rapture raised his lovely cocoa head, exposing the shaded sandy underbelly, and trilled a beautiful, tuneful note in agreement.
Caltrain simply couldn't help smiling with the flitter in his arms, and chuckled. "See, Rapture wants you both to keep us company, as well!"

Brinne had barely taken her first sip of cool fruit juice before the first man approached. She smiled into the glass, batting her eyelashes slightly before lowering it in order to view her first caller. Her eyes widened at the sight of H'ter, the Sr. Weyrling she had met not long ago in the Bowl. Little did that brownrider know, she had planned on hunting him down at the Gather today, although she hadn't set off on that mission yet.
There was mischief afoot, for Brinne had told K'ji to meet her at the Gather. She had then planned on finding H'ter to arrange a meeting. With that part taken care of for her, the prospects for the day were suddenly far brighter, for she was free to spend it how she wished.
"H'ter!" Brinne exclaimed, smiling playfully and patting the seat beside her. "Yes, of course, do sit down!" Her eyes sparked at the sight of a blush on his cheeks, and she smirked, quite pleased with herself. Yes, she definitely still had it!
Before he even had a chance to sit down, another man had approached. Swiveling eagerly in her seat, Brinne raised a carefully manicured brow at the sight of her friend, Farallen, who was clumsily manouvering around H'ter to set down an overladen tray. "Hello, Farallen," she greeted him in turn. However, the smile she gave him was not her typical, playful one, for she was past flirting with this boy (well, mostly). Instead, it was warm, for she was quite fond of the naive lad. He could be so amusing. Like in this instance, when he seemed oblivious to H'ter's presence for quite some time.
"Gentlemen, gentlemen, please!" she cooed, waving her hands daintily. "There's plenty of room for everyone to sit by me." She was teasing of course, but Brinne kept her gaze on the pair to watch for the effect. Even if Farallen was too innocent to understand flirtations and she had other goals for H'ter, the candidate did adore throwing men off balance.

H'ter smiled his thanks and Cobalt chirped a greeting of his own from his person's shoulder. "Thank you Brinne," he said, his blush fading slightly as he began to sit, but shifted out of the way as Farallen bustled around him. He started to apologize for being in the way until he noticed who it was and his blush deepened and his words got caught in his throat.
At Brinne's teasing words her was sure his face was fairly glowing crimson now. He licked his lips and carefully set the pastry cake on the table before slipping into the seat to her right. He took a quick sip of his juice, trying to regain his composure, Cobalt nuzzling against his cheek and Bediverth sending his rider loving, reassuring thoughts.
After a long moment H'ter had finally calmed down enough to speak with out squeaking out his words. "How are the two of you enjoying the gather so far?" he asked, truly curious to see how they were enjoying it.

S'lem spotted Felina and smiled, she seemed to have her hands full with her own new fire lizard as well. His own Majesty was full now and half asleep. He smiled and picked the gold flitter up gently, cradling her as he stood. Majesty gave a sleep chirp and snuggled closer to her pet as S'lem maneuvered through the tables.
He hesitated a moment before approaching Felina. He hadn't really had a chance to speak to her and well her being impressed to a brown and he to a blue ruled out more then just a friendly relationship, but he did want to be friends with the girl.
"Good day Felina," he said with a grin and a half bow, his gold half opening her eyes to look at who he was speaking to. "How fares your Breunth and yourself?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.

Farallen smiled happily back at Brinne, quickly taking her up on her offer and sitting down beside her, his laden food tray before him. He picked up a bubbly pie and bit into it, making an appreciative noise as he chewed the first morsel of the sweet pastry. As he pulled the pie away from his mouth, however, its juices began to trickle down his chin, and he quickly set the treat back on the tray as he reached for a napkin. “Juicy!” He exclaimed, grinning apologetically at his friends.
H’ter’s query found Farallen halfway through his next bubbly pie. The dragonhealer quickly swallowed his morsel, wiping the red juice away from his mouth before answering. “The Gather’s going pretty well! I’m enjoying it. I got these ten bubbly pies for an eighth of a mark!” Farallen remarked, quite pleased with himself and completely unaware that he had paid double what his food was worth. After all, he had no way of knowing how the monetary system had inflated or deflated over the countless turns that had gone by when he went forward through time! When the vendor had asked for an eighth of a mark, Farallen had simply attributed this higher price for bubbly pies to the new time, and handed over his money without complaint. Why would he suspect that the man was gouging him? Surely he had no reason to be dishonest. Such thoughts had never even occurred to the naïve lad.

((It took me five minutes to find the thread xD I am sooo out of it. Lol.))
K'ji could not believe that Brinne had talked him into coming. It was quite astonishing, and even Blancheurth was surprised when he asked her if she could bring him here. What was even more odd was that he was looking forward to the gather! He was fairly happy that he had enough guts to come. His green was mighty proud of him.
She was out sunning herself and K'ji was slipping among the crowd, invisible as always. Actually, he was given a few hellos, and after the fifth he ran a hand through his tousled hair. Well, this was a new experience for him. And...he liked it?
Finally he caught sight of the girl and started over to him. His brown flit, Lupin, decided then to pop out of /between/ and glide down to his shoulder. He gently rubbed the firelizard's chin as he got to Brinne.
"Hey Brinne," he greeted, happily. Then he noticed Farallen and H'ter. He gave them a meek smile, as Lupin chirped a greeting to the other firelizards.
Well. Seemed as though K'ji was going to get a few friends today.

"In fact, I was just about to ask Loana if she'd like to sit with Rapture and me after she gets her bubblies
When Loana heard that, she smiled. "I'd love to" She answerd. Loana looked at F'lan and he seemed like he approved.
"Well, beastmaster, that sounds like a pleasent idea. He turned Loana towards the bubblie pies. "Best hurry up now" He said.
Loana looked back at the men and she heard Rapture trill a tuneful note. She laughed. She bought the pies and went over to the table where Caltrain and F'lan were sitting. She gave a Pie to F'lan and offered one to Caltrain.
" So how are the beaststables master Caltrian?" F'lan asked smiling while eating his pie.

After Loana ran off to get the bubblies, Caltrain swung by a drink stand and bought a large flask of iced fruit juice, and grabbed three cups.
When the girl returned, Caltrain accepted the bubbly pie, and slid a cup of juice over to her, then poured one for F'lan as well.
The bubbly pie was burning hot when he bit into it, and Rapture waved his wings and crooned encouragement as the Beastmaster sucked in air and tried to cool his tongue with fruit juice.
"Careful with those," he said, laughing, "They're fresh baked! The stables? Very well, thanks! The Candidatemaster has been sending extra help my way, so chores are coming along nicely, what with the candidates and my new apprentices. You like to ride? Stop by some time, we've got a few gentle mares now who would probably enjoy carrying you around the corral."

"Ride? me? sure!" F'lan smiled, "how nice of the candidatemaster send help for you." F'lan seemed as though he was really enjoying himself, and Loana smiled.
Too bad she didn't get signed up for cleaning the beaststales; it sounded really fun. She looked around the gather watching poeple go by. It was a great day for a gather, and she was enjoying it. She even forgot all her troubles; she was so happy!
Nothing in the world could go wrong. Not at all.
Loana smiled at Caltrain, she had made a friend!

For Brinne and her posse "Excuse me, is it - alright if we join you?"
Armed each with a bubbly pie and a tankard of water, Kanamar and Deverel stood at the edge of the group, looking at them. Meet the twins, my ladies and lords. Exactly alike, down to the curious tilt in their head and the freckle right underneath their left eye, in the corner. Even as one, they balanced the pie on the tankard and ran a hand through molten golden hair.
"Actually, we were wondering - you all are rider's and candidates at the - Weyr, are we correct?"
High cheekbones, baby blue eyes with a tinge of moss green around the iris, they looked much like their older brother. The family resemblance was there, from the straight, blade thin nose to the shape of the head and how they held themselves. But these boy's smiled, no one unable to tell the difference between the two of them and they knew it to. That was the way it went.
"Journeymen Harper's - Kanamar and Deverel."
The Harper's had been here for awhile, playing instruments during the dancing. But the Masterharper, gruff old man that he was, had sent them out to eat and replenish, to enjoy the Gather. Of course, teenage boys, they went straight to... Guessed right, the food. And it was so popular that most of the other chairs had been taken, leaving the boys to attack this group. Plus, they were on the lookout for their younger sister, and what better way to ask those at her own Weyr?
