Anah was sitting on the ground, staring at it. Her shirt was quite dirty as she had kinda just finished romping around, and beating a guy at his stupid little game. She sighed, as she stared at her hand, the ground, then tried to stare at both, which caused a headache. She then looked at the sky, saw nothing but well, the sky and closed her eyes, finally plopping down. What a boring day. Nothing going on, and nothing was going to happen. She'd eventually go to bed when this day was done, and then dream of riding a dragon. That was the best thought in the world. Her, with her very own dragon! She'd have a dragon that stood out, or something, maybe even an odd colored dragon! Yea! She'd be looked at like someone other than just dirty old Anah. And it'd show her stupid sister she was just as good as her, if not better! But would she have to wear a dress?

I sense a presence here, Mine! Kmarath remarked cheerfully as Robika flew over Celos. With a bemused expression, the greenrider looked back over at the dragon's face. No, this wasn't one of Kmarath's usual tricks. Sometimes Kmarath would randomly announce a presence, leading Robika on a wild goose chase for a non-existent candidate. The green apparently got a kick out of doing that to her rider. However, it was not that way today. Kmarath's eyes didn't have the tell-tale pink tinge that always appeared whenever she tricked Robika. The woman smiled. Time to bring some lucky child back to the Weyr with her.
She signaled for Kmarath to land, thinking over her position as a Searchrider. Robika and Kmarath had to fly around through the holds, sniffing out enough candidates to make Sitareh happy- which was a lot. Lately, Robika had been unsuccessful, and she was worried that it was bothering Sitareh with her wastes of time. No matter- today was a change of luck. Today, they would bring someone back to the Weyr. They landed onto the ground, Kmarath stretching her wings lazily, as if waiting for the children to come out and look at her with awe in their eyes. She loved the attention, and she always received it.
Robika chuckled, eyes scanning the surprised crowd. Standing straighter, she hollered, "We come on Search!" She really was not in the mood to try being discreet- not that being discreet ever worked. Any time there was a dragon around, the holders would all come running out just to catch a glimpse of one of Araelen's dragons. Whereas back in the old time they were considered normal, the people here would fight each other out of the way so they could get a good look at just a mere green. This must be what happens when the dragons make a comeback, she thought with amusement. "Could all children between ages of twelve and twenty-two Turns please come forward?" she said in an official tone.
But of course, official things never last. Winking in from between, Padma was currently attempting to scold a shrieking Emanor. Blinking in confusion, Robika soon found the reason. Emanor was clutching a strip of dried meat in her claws, hissing at Padma, who apparently wanted some. Heaving a sigh, Robika quickly bespoke Kmarath to get the flitters to calm down. Rumbling in amusement, Kmarath obliged. Emanor gave one last hiss, darting onto the safety of Robika's head, while Padma gracefully landed on her shoulder. Robika felt herself blushing, and she cleared her throat, gesturing for the potential candidates to come forward.

Anah walked forward looking at the green. Green dragons, didn't that mean that this was a search dragon. She didn't think she'd get searched, and she probbily wouldn't even be considered, but she still stepped forward, and did push one of her old friends out of the way, as she noticed people were gathering around. (NPC people? lolz) She stared at the rider, rather than the dragon. She let out a gasp as she landed in the dirt. Apperently someone thought it was funny to push her. She grumbled and dusted the dirt off of her.

Robika looked around at everyone who had come forward. So many people, yet how many would be a candidate? She doubted many- they seemed very rough, she thought critically as many pushed each other out of the way to get closer. "Hey, kids, watch it. She's gonna take a look at all of you, no matter where you stand," she told them sharply watching one girl fall to the ground. Sighing, she nodded to Kmarath to begin looking at them.
The green walked forward, her eyes gazing each individual person as she walked along. Robika supervised, making sure none of them would attack Kmarath. Every now and then, Kmarath would sniff someone, making the children look up hopefully, but Kmarath continued to walk on. Finally, Kmarath came to an abrupt halt, stopping to sniff the girl who had fallen down.
This is her, Mine, Kmarath told Robika. Smiling, Robika approached the girl as Kmarath continued to sniff out any more candidates.
"Hello, girl," she told her brightly, offering her a hand up. Padma and Emanor looked down, eyeing the girl carefully. "I'm Robika, rider of Kmarath. It seems Kmarath wants you to be a candidate!"

Anah seemed a bit shocked. "Me?" she asked, her eyes sparkling. She took the hand as she got up, back on her feet. "I'm Anah." she said, looking at the green dragon rider, Robika. She was a bit unsure what to say next, happiness and joy was rushing through her at the very thought of being a dragon rider like her father and mother were.

Robika smiled kindly at the girl. She knew many candidates had reactions like hers, and she nodded. "Yep, Kmarath thinks you have the potential," she replied cheerfully, looking back up to the green. "Nice to meet you," she replied, watching Kmarath turn back to her.
There is no one else, Kmarath told Robika. Nodding to the dragon, she turned back to Anah. "All right, so you're all we're taking back today," she told the girl with a smile. She paused, then said, "We'll wait and you can gather your things. Then we'll take you to the Weyr and show you around." Waving her hand to shoo the girl off to gather her things, she stroked her flitters as she walked back to Kmarath, leaning against her as she waited for Anah to return.

Anah quickly ran to gather her things and, has she never really ever had much, shoved them into a bag and ran back out to the rider and dragon. The group of people had already started to grow smaller and Anah came up, a slower pace now and a big grin on her face. "Ready!" she said.

Robika waved to the girl. "All right. All set? Let's go!" she announced, climbing onto Kmarath. Padma and Emanor launched themselves off of her shoulder, wanting to go back to the Weyr themselves. Simultaneously, they winked between, and Robika chuckled. Reaching a hand down to Anah, she said, "All right, just try stepping onto her foreleg, then her back. I'll be pulling you up, so you'll have to follow along anyway." She was unsure if Anah had ever ridden a dragon before, but she figured that she should tell her anyway. Tossing Anah a spare riding jacket, she pulled her own goggles on.
When Anah was strapped in and situated behind her, she gave the signal for Kmarath to lift off. The green did so, pushing herself from the ground with ease and off into the air. The green pumped her wings without any trouble, and Robika chanced turning around. "We're about to go between. It's short- cough three times and we're out. Hold on tight, here we go!" she hollered, and then they were in between.
The chill last just as long as Robika promised, for soon they were in the air above Araelen. "Welcome to Araelen!" she said cheerfully, and Kmarath swooped down gracefully. Landing with a dull thud in the Weyrbowl, Robika unstrapped herself and hopped off, offering another hand to help Anah down.

Anah got onto the dragon, got situated, and got ready to go. She had only been into /between/ once, and it was no better the second time. As they pulled out of from /between/ and landed in front of a weyr. Anah let out a gasp as she was helped down. "It's so, big." she said, sounding stupid, but shocked none the less. ((OOC: Off to the candidate barracks I uppose))
