Loyalists, unite!
lol. I just wanted to remind everyone that being a Loyalist can be fun too (as there seems to be a lot of excitement over being a Rebel right now, and not so much for the Loyalist side!).
Some ideas to spice it up:
Loyalists can be cocky, strutting around because they own the place Loyalists can be suspicious of their peers, eager to rise in the ranks of Sitareh's favourites by finding the rats Loyalists can use their fire lizards to try to glean info from suspicious meetings they see occuring Loyalists can be friends with Rebels, completely unaware of the friends' stance, and then will face the moral dilemma of turning in the traitor or standing by their pal
There are many opportunities out there for the Loyalists to have just as much fun as the Rebels! So try some things out. Talk to your friends (on this board, via PM, whatever y'like!) and create some plots. Do your charries now find themselves on opposite sides of the fence? Or can they band together?
The potential is endless...

Not sure if it's my place to add to this or not, but I thought of a point and wanted to make it. XD;
Loyalists don't necessarily have to be bad or power-hungry Loyalists may not know any better about the corruption Loyalists may feel allegience to the Weyr for providing them with their dragon Loyalists may be afraid to act out for their own sake or someone elses' Loyalists can go through interesting character developments as they gradually see they've taken a side that isn't as grand as they originally thought
Also, it's somewhat irrational for there to be more rebels than loyalists. If it's such a secret-secret, hush-hush thing, how did everyone find out about it? XD You can still be a loyalist but disagree with their actions. :3 Or trade sides later. I can sense more angst on the Loyalist side...:3 Come to the Loyals! We have angst. <3
I guess the only problem is that we have a lot of justice-orientated characters. XD I love it. Heh heh. X3

lol, this is exactly what this board is for! To discuss plots, plans, and drama!
And I quite agree with you, Tany! The Loyalist characters can be just as dynamic and go through just as much development as, if not more than, the Rebels!
They will constantly have to struggle with: Did they choose the right side? Can they trust their friends?
Go Loyalists!

Also a Loyalist can simply be someone who doesn't want to pick a side because they want to help every one.

Yeah, Fel's one that just wouldn't choose either side - she's too obsessed with keeping the weyr together and is really more neutral. She doesn't care which side succeeds, so long as one does - and soon.
Corenne, on the other hand, is your more rigid, hidebound type. She doesn't necessarily agree with the Loyalists, but she does agree that tradition states that a weyrwoman cannot be overthrown.
I wouldn't call either of them cocky, overconfident, suspicious, or looking to step up in the 'ladder' of things. And neither of them are necessarily naive about the corruption, timid, or feeling a particular allegiance to Sitareh's cause.
I think there's an extremely wide range of characters that could be loyalists, for tradition, for loyalty, for a superiority complex, for all sorts of crazy reasons.

I agree with all of the above, lol. There is a wide range of characters that may choose to be Loyalists or Rebels.
But in getting the plot going and bringing excitement in, we really ought to have people start discussing with each other to create rp ideas for their charries. So if your charrie is a Loyalist, and they are friends with another rper's charrie, find out what alignment that charrie has, 'cause they might be different! What will happen to their friendship when they realize their difference of opinions? Dun dun dun...
