//Tonimine, I think that this is ridiculous that you are worried about what people will say. They should talk - besides, I am a gorgeous Green, and you do know that they will be more startled by my brilliant appearance than what Mother-Queen you hatched from.
With a soft chuckle, the girl at the large Green's paws rose, bracing her hands on the cheeks of the haughty dragon.
--Wyth, darling. Of course they will talk, you are the most beautiful thing out there. However, with humans it does matter what Mother-Queen we came from.
Her dragon oftentimes had troubles separating apart the human minds from the dragon minds. She payed little attention to the 'stupid bald-things,' besides Her's of course. As she had explained it to Toni, Tonimine was not a stupid bald thing. Tonimine was wonderful, pretty, and funny, the most perfect thing in the world. Never had the girl with such insecurities had something be so utterly and mindlessly devoted to her, and it slowly helped heal the scars her own mother had left when she did not Impress the dragon that she had wanted her to. Indeed, Toni's painfully shy and quiet composure helped egg on the dragon that had her own fear's of not being good enough.
Mosawyth had fears of not being good enough, pretty enough, fast enough, small enough, of not being able to be good for Her's. However, as Toni slathered on the praise in full-hearted truth, it soothed the easily fixed moss-green girl, and allowed her to be the pompous Green she was.
//Good, now that that is settled, please, let us go.
An anxious twitch around the Weyr that she had called home now. One of the old Bronze's room, she had taken to staying in it because Wyth had refused to stay in the one that they had been alloted. It didn't matter, dragons slipping Between quietly often enough, older dragons dieing, and no new clutches on the sand's since her own. She loved this Weyr, she loved the simple decorating she had done... Why did she want to leave this?
//Because,
in a tone that broached no argument,
//it is going to be boring and silly and no one wants to stay in a land with no dragons. Besides, we shall be an asset. We are strong, young, and know the techniques of fighting Thread.
With a sigh, Toni did as she knew she would do - assenting to her dragon's common sense and arrogant manner, she finished up packing the few things she needed (the rest stayed behind as though they were just going between and staying between. Kissing her dragon on the nose, the girl rose up and flung her things on the back of the Green, then ambled her to the ledge. Nimbly vaulting to the back of the large, dappled creature, she stretched and finally, with one last look at the great old Queen sunning on her ledge, whispered those fatal words.
"Lets go."
Snapping her wings open and diving out and down, the Green held the picture in her mind with careful precision and snapped into the cold between. A cough, once, twice, thrice, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh... She grew uneasy as they stayed, almost suspended, but Toni was never one to panic, and she quashed her fears... And they were spiraling out over the Bowl of a new Weyr, and with new thanks, she gasped in the warm air, Wyth bugled her arrival.
//A new beginning Tonimine. You will like it, you will see.
--I hope so.
They settled down as they landed, Toni slipping off Mosawyth quickly and removing her helmet.
"I think I'll just wait here for someone to find me. I'd hate for them to think I'm a spy or anything... Do you think they'll recognize me?"
//Tonimine, darling, breathe. I would like my eyeridge scratched, and you worrying about things that can not be helped is not helping that.
A sigh, and she turned to her demanding moss-green beauty, kissing her softly on her nose before rubbing the offered ridge, keeping one wary eye out for anyone approaching, as they must sooner or later.
