First off, wow.
Has anyone seen this one yet?
I'd have to say: Best Harry Potter flick so far. I really liked it. As the movie started and was progressing, I kept thinking to myself, "Oh good! They included that part!" and "Oh! They did that bit right!" I know they changed some things, as they always do, but what gave the movie an A+ in my books right off the start was the fact that they were actually wearing their wizarding robes again! Yay!
I was glad that the Grawp scene wasn't too long, and I was very happy to see as much of the DA meetings as I did. The relationship development between Ron and Hermione was too funny, and I loved Fred and George's triumphant departure. Umbridge was so creepily sadistic, with all of those happy kitties on her walls. AH!
A few things I was disappointed with were the lack of scenes with Draco, who always adds humour to the flicks, and the length of the movie. I read in the paper that it was the shortest movie for the longest book! That sucks. They could have made it a wee bit longer and done the scene in Snape's memory way better. I mean, when I saw the cast online, I was extremely excited to see Young Sirius, Young Remus, Young Peter, Young James, Young Lily, and Young Snape. However, in the scene, the only ones I was able to pick out from the random crowd of kids were Young James and Young Snape (I think the boy with long hair was Sirius?). That was one of my favourite scenes in the book, and I'd really hoped they'd play it out fully. "How do you identify a werewolf? He looks like Remus Lupin!"
I also really liked the development between Sirius and Harry. I'll lay it down right now...Sirius is pretty much my fave character in the books, and I loved seeing the 'bonding' between the two as it built up to the climactic ending. When Sirius called, "Good one, James!" during the duel, it sent shivers up and down my spine. So good!
Hey, was anyone else hardcore enough to notice that they were using the "Levicorpus" spell, which isn't introduced until the 6th book, when Harry reads the Half-Blood Prince's old text book? Hahaha.
Anywho, thoughts? Ratings? Disappointment or knock-out? I'd say compared to last year's flick, where they cut out half the important scenes in the book, this one's a winner! They're back on track!
