Keep tuned to the Plots section for new and exciting occurrences in the world of Pern. There should be Announcements to alert you of new ones, but it’s your responsibility to keep yourself updated should you be away for a time and then return.
1. When a new Plot is posted, the occurrence in that Plot interrupts all threads. If you have a current thread going, the incident that has occurred in the Plot has now occurred in that thread (ex. Earthquake). Your posts afterwards must respond to that Plot accordingly. As well, any new threads must have occurred after the Plot/during it. The exceptions are: special requests (if you are working on your own sub-plot with someone else’s character and don’t want to be interrupted in a particular thread, ask for permission to ignore it) and lengthy threads (ex. Hatching, unless it is specifically stated that this thread is also affected).
2. Since threads generally span only a short period of time, it will most likely be necessary to start new threads to keep up with the Weyr, frequently. It will become unnecessary to continue some threads as time goes on, so they can be abandoned and more recent ones started.
3. If you find yourself with a character in an influential position at the Weyr, be sure to approve any of the plot ideas you may have with one of the Meddlers. Reasons for this would include: Hatchings, Gathers, Feasts, etc.
4. If you have a gold or green dragon or fire lizard, ask a Meddler before you start a Flight thread or a Hatching thread for eggs.
5. Since it will be impossible to maintain real-time in the Weyr, what with threads taking weeks to complete though they occur in a day, things will be sped up a wee bit. Instead of taking two years to mature, dragons will only take 6 months or so, if that, but your characters will not age as quickly. Check for news updates to find out when dragons have graduated from Weyrling status.
6. Important Plots to read: The Rebellion, Araelen Weyr's History, Dragon Tournaments, and Marks. For further information on Marks, please visit the OOC section of the boards.
