It was nice to do all of your chores quickly and have free-time left over. The candidate leaned back ever so slightly in her chair with the klah on the table in front of her, gaze wondering around. Writing and singing about dragonriders was always enticing and exciting to her, but living in the legend? That was utterly shocking, something she had wished she would do and is doing at this very second. Who would have thought that a harper apprentice would make it as a dragonrider candidate? Of course, she wasn't gaurenteed to impress, but being a candidate was lucky enough!
A brust of cold air alerted her to the prescence of another. Minelli smiled as she felt small claws land on her shoulder, and looked over to see her green fire lizard, Mini. Mini's tail wrapped around her neck loosely, and the candidate reached over to stroke under the creature's snout. As the flit's eyes closed, Minelli started to hum a song her father wrote, and soon, Mini was humming along as well.

B'raun had some free time to his own that day and had spent most of it around the lake, enjoying the pristine scenery and spending some time oiling Klazariath's bronze hide. After awhile both Klazariath and B'raun had grown hungry and decided to head to the Feeding Grounds first. There, the famished Klazariath took chase after the herdbeasts and picked out the plumpest of them, diving swiftly and clamping down on the screaming animal before it had a chance to escape. As Klazariath dined on the beast, B'raun decided to leave him for the Kitchen, his own stomach growling painfully. He had entered to the smell of freshly baked bread and his mouth couldn't help but water. After dishing up some delectable food, B'raun seated himself at the large, wooden table and began eating away. He didn't notice the girl near him until she began humming a lovely tune. Her dragon lizard, enjoying the music, starting to join in, his own unique sound combining magnificently with hers. When she had finished, B'raun put down his fork and looked directly at the young girl. "That was delightful. I've never heard it before... did you compose it yourself?" he asked curiously.

As Mini chirped a greeting to the newcomer, not the least startled by his sudden appearence (for neither of them had noticed him in the Lower Caverns), Minelli glanced over to him, surprised. She hadn't noticed anybody else in there with them, but she quickly flashed him a smile. She also realized that she recognized him from somewhere, but couldn't quite remember exactly who he was.
"Thank you, and no, I didn't compose it. My father did." Mini hummed the last verse again, and the candidate laughed at her green fire lizard, gently scratching her eye ridge once she'd finished. She quickly took a sip of klah and glanced to him again. Who was he?
She set down the mug again when it suddenly clicked; she'd seen him on a bronze dragon. He was a bronzerider! Unfortunately, she couldn't remember his name, so she shifted instead on her seat. "Oh, I'm Minelli, and the green flit on my shoulder is Mini." Mini crooned at the mention of her name, making her handler smile slightly.

B'raun greeted Minelli and Mini with a nod and a grin. He took up a piece of bread that was smothered in melted butter and took a bite of it, chewing it quickly. "Your father did, hm? Was he involved in the Harpercraft by chance?" B'raun asked, taking another large bite out of the warm bread and devouring it fast once again. "If not, then I think he ought to have been. That tune sounds like something that would have encores at any feast," he said pleasantly, admiring the green firelizard as he did with any other. "Ah, and I'm B'raun, by the way," he offerred back, aware that she was new to the Weyr and likely hadn't become familiar with all of the Weyrfolk yet.

Mini nuzzled Minelli's cheek gently and stretched out her wings as the candidate smiled at the bronzerider. "Yes, he was part of the harpercraft; so was I until I was searched and brought here." Her father's music had been much liked all around, and still was. She brought his music to the weyr and was proud of it, because his music did have catchy tunes. Even though one or two didn't really ever make it. Those and the song he used to sing to her were the only ones she'd never repeat, for different reasons of course.
The name clicked in her head and she immediately memorized his face with his name. B'raun...Yes, she'd heard somebody mention him a few times around. When you were doing chores, you had the chance of overhearing conversations, even if you don't want to. Minelli flashed him a smile. "Nice to meet you, B'raun," she replied politely.

((Eep, sorry about the delay in posting. I've had a really busy week with work and other stuff! First time I've got a chance to get on here!))
B'raun subconsciously ran a hand through his hair and then scratched an itch on the back of his neck. He rolled a bit of klah over his tongue, enjoying the flavour before gulping it down and responding, "I wish I had a melody muse but music is one thing that has always stumped me. No talent there! And I'm afraid I'd have to say the same thing about my flit," he smiled. At the very mention of him, a small pop produced a little blue fire lizard that alighted on B'rauns shoulder and chirped in greetings to Minelli and the green flit. "Well then, right on que, Munich!" he chuckled scratching him along his eye ridge.
(meep, short post cause I'm getting kicked off... *sigh* this is my life... grrrrr)

((That's okay))
Mini became immediately interested in the new flit; not because she was a flirt, but because he was one of the first she'd seen at the weyr. She also gave a musical trill in greeting, making her holder chuckle.
Minelli turned to the blue flit on the bronzerider's shoulder. "He's cute. How long have you had him?" She shifted slightly on the bench and a tune suddenly popped into her head; one of her own. Mini caught the thought and latched onto it before she began to hum it.
The candidate suddenly realized she was tapping her foot lightly on the ground in tune to her flit's humming. She quickly stopped and frowned at the flit; her song was a faster one than most, but she wasn't finished with it. Shaking her head at the flit, but not wanting to yell at her, she ignored the green's humming and turned to B'raun.

Munich listened with rapt attention as the gorgeous green began humming a sweet, quick tune and he felt the need to try and join in, his deeper hum clouding the happy, up-beat tune rather than adding to it. B'raun visibly winced at the ruckus right beside his ear and tried to shush him but the blue was insistent on making the dreadful noise. "Well, another similarity it seems," B'raun frowned as Munich was drowning out the pleasant hummings Mini was making.
Trying futilely to ignore Munich, B'raun answered Minelli's question. "Actually I just got him. He's from M'kel's clutch. They bunch of them just hatched a day or two ago. When did you get yours?" he asked back, putting a hand over the ear that was nearest the bugling blue.

Minelli laughed at the blue's attempt at a tune, though she did wince just a tad. The green, however, just glanced to the blue with an equivalent of a draconic smile, and hummed louder to try to out-volume the other flit. Though it wouldn't work, since Mini's voice was never really loud unless the song was loud.
The candidate focused on the bronzerider. "Oh, I heard about that. I watched the last of it." She paused. "I got Mini a while ago, before I came here."

As the challenging green began to try and out-hum Munich, he simply started to raise his own, deeper voice to a shrill, unearthy level and B'raun was forced to physically pry the squawking firelizard from his shoulder and hold him in his arms so he would calm down. With somewhat of a mental struggle, B'raun finally convinced the flit to quiet down and with a disgruntled snort Munich settled down in the crook of B'rauns arm and almost glared across at Mini. It wasn't that he didn't like the beauty, it was just that he wished he could continue his tune and receive the same appreciation for it as Mini was getting. B'raun merely shook his head apologetically.
"Sorry about that... Peculiar little guy to say the least," B'raun declared, running a soothing finger down his spine. "So how long have you been at the Weyr then? Did you live along the coast and find a clutch one time?" B'raun asked.
