((Calling Fallen and F'rallen! Wow, that's a mouthful o.O))
It was a perfect day. Just perfect! Brinne had woken early, yet well-rested, and had peeked out of her bedchamber to spot a clear sky and Rukbat's golden glow. Quickly, for there was far less of it now, the greenrider had washed her luxurious red hair and scrubbed her skin til it was pink, then dressed in swim clothes and pulled on a tunic and pants over top. This was just the kind of day she had been waiting for! No Sweepriding duties today, which meant F'rallen was free, and Elinth was fed and clean. No, there was nothing else this day could be used for except a swim at the beach!
As Brinne strode out of her bedchamber to scratch the slowly-waking Elinth's eye ridge affectionately, she paused a moment to ponder her day. Why, she hadn't really thought of it before, but wouldn't it be nice if she invited someone else along as well. After all, she and F'rallen spent lots of time together, especially since they were partners for Sweepriding, and it might be fun to spend the day with someone new as well. Besides, she was sure F'rallen wouldn't have a problem with it; he was fine with everything. So why not!
Growing more excited now, Brinne hurried over to a hide scrap stretched out on a table and jotted down two notes, then tore the hide in half. She tied one piece to Duke's leg and sent him off, rather begrudgingly, to find F'rallen. The other she attached to Damsel, who was far more willing, and directed the young green to find Fallen. There!
Like, what are you doin'? Elinth asked, curiousity piqued. She raised her mossy green head, turning to consider her rider.
"I sink it eez a perrrfect day for a swim, and I deecide-ahd to invite Fallen and F'rrrrallen. You like Vicroth and Dacrith, no?" Brinne included the dragon's names as an anchor for the green, since dragons didn't tend to pay attention to any human's names aside from their own. The girl picked up a redfruit she'd taken last night from the Lower Caverns and not eaten, biting into it while she moved to get her dragon harnessed.
Omigod, I like, love that idea, mine. I love swimming! And I totally love friends to play with. Although she was less excited by the idea of Dacrith being there, Vicroth was a very amiable bronze, and she had quite enjoyed his company in the past.
"I sot you vould be 'appy!" Brinne smiled, doing up the straps on the harness and pulling herself up into place. "I could uze a day in ze sun, some tann-ahng on ze beach, and a dip in ze vater. In zat order, zo, mesinks."
Feeling her rider comfortably in place, Elinth stepped off the edge of her weyr, dropping towards the floor of the Bowl before flaring open her wings. She swooped upwards and then between, coming out down the beach from the wharf, so that they would be in a quieter, more secluded area. The dragon glided slowly to the sand, touching down lightly and crouching so that Brinne could more easily dismount.
Are you like, totally sure that you don't want to swim first? Elinth inquired, gazing back at her rider sweetly.
"No, darrrling, I vill let you play vis ze boys fairst," her rider assured her, clambering down. Her toes scrunched up, enjoying the feel of the gritty sand, and she stepped away from Elinth so that the green could amble into the ocean.
Rukbat was not far over the horizon, but its warm rays were already baking the sand. Waves were gently washing onto the shore, their frothy tendrils rushing up to tease at Brinne's toes, and a couple of sea-birds were crying out as they circled high up in the sky. Brinne breathed deeply of the salty air, smiling broadly, and then stripped off the tunic and pants to leave only her swimming gear. She then settled herself onto an already-warm mound of sand, closed her eyes, and started soaking in the sunlight. Knowing men, it would take those boys a while to get here, so she may as well get some tanning in before they arrived!
((Brinne ze Frenchy and Elinth la ditz!))
