Skye heard the sand shifting behind her as M'kel approached, but she didn't turn to look at him as she simply concentrated on getting her tears and anger under control so that she could speak. She sniffled softly and tilted her head slightly as she heard the bronze rider speaking and she breathed a soft sigh at his words, which no longer seemed to be angry at least.
She brushed her hands over her face to get rid of the tears lingering on her cheeks before she turned slowly to face the man behind her. Her eyes were red from crying and her nose slightly red too. She sighed again as she let her arms rest at her sides as she looked at M'kel a long, silent moment.
"M'kel, I wasn't tell you I was pregnant to try and trap you into a relationship or anything. I just wanted to let you know," she said, struggling to find the words. "I don't know what I'm going to do and I know the final decision is mine and its going to be a hard one," she said, clearing her throat before taking a hesitant step closer to him.
"I don't want things to change between us M'kel, I really don't, but can you still see me the same? Will you still be able to see me a friend and playmate even when my belly is swollen if I decide to keep the child to foster when its born? Answer me honestly M'kel, its something I need to know. I know that I am just a green rider and your a bronze rider and could become Weyrleader again, but I still want to be a friend to you M'kel, thats the relationship I want with you." she hesitated for a moment before she put a hand lightly on his arm.
"I've heard the gossip in the weyr. Many other riders think I'm trying to get myself into the good graces of a bronze rider just to heightening my rank. But, I'm no fool hon, I know I'm a green rider and I know my place and I am in it gladly. I do the things I do with you because I want to as a woman and because I enjoy your company," she said with a slight smile and a soft sigh.
"But, I need to know if what I have told you today has changed how you view our friendship so I won't be shocked if my schedule of duties suddenly change," she looked up at him and waited, her emerald green eyes searching his face.
She stood there silently waiting. To say she wasn't afraid of the worst would be a lie, but she would handle it if that was the case.
(Sorry if its rambley, but I was only working with what I was able to drag from my muse.)
