((It seemed like everyone needed a little nudge, so I've decided to set the stage XD. And remember, you can bring any char you like; it doesn't have to be the one you posted with))
It is a beautiful day. The skies are clear, Rukbat is shining brightly, and the ocean is calm and majestic. It's not yet spring in the Southern Continent, but since it rarely gets cold, the temperature is pleasantly cool. The sands, on the other hand, have been warming for much of the day and are very inviting.
Those who won the lottery were guided to the island by a dragonrider pair assigned by the Weyrwoman. The dragonrider also brought a pair of drudges to serve the winners during the day. The island is equipped with a roasting pit, and the drudges are ready to serve cool fruit juice to any who desire it. This island is quite small, especially compared to Araelen Weyr Island, and a ring of coral surrounds it, causing the atoll to be protected from the strongest ocean waves. There is a stretch of jungle in the centre of the island, although it is not extensive.
During the day, one of the contest winners will be lucky enough to stumble upon a mound in the sand. And they'll all be just in time!

Rhea held on tight to Minath's neck, clinging to the dragon she had only just learned to fly on as their escort showed them with a flourish the island they were meant to land on and spend their day in paradise. It really was nice of Sitareh to give out a holiday to some of the people of the weyr, considering what she'd had to go through of late, with the other gold rider coming in and laying a clutch (even if Min had come of that clutch) and having to invite those dreadful whers into the weyr. It was quite sad, really, and she came back and gifted everyone with this lovely trip to paradise.
The girl and dragon landed clumsily; it was their first time flying for very long. The only reason they'd flown at all was so that Minath could come. The guide had wanted to leave the dragon at the weyr and take Rhea between. Obviously, taking a dragon and a child would be too difficult for one dragon to take, along with his rider. But Rhea had insisted on Min going with her. After all, Min was her best friend. He had to understand how that was. He was bonded to his blue, after all. It wasn't very fair to leave her just because she wasn't a person.
When their guide made a move to rise up and go between, Rhea couldn't help but call out. "Thank you! For showing us the way, I mean!" She waved as the man and dragon disappeared with a snap. What a nice man She thought, keeping silent except to her beloved Minath.
Indeed, Rheamine. And these sands are quite nice on my feet. I believe we shall like it here, mine.

She knew she needed the vacation, but it still just didn't seem right to disappear off to some island she'd never seen before. There were things in the weyr that needed to be done, she had duties that could not be ignored, and a little blue firelizard that was sure to make trouble wherever she took the little bugger. So why in Faranth's name was she going, again?
Because the nice people are making you, Breunth informed her, as well as sending a mental image of her blue, Terror, doing what he did best: attempting to steal the hair of the 'nice' people guiding them. Felina shook her head. She'd let the little monster do no such thing, or she'd have the Werywoman on her case for sure. Anyhow, the weather is very nice, and I would like to lie in the lovely sun and see if the tiny cousin grows any more. After all, every little dragon needs sun, and lots of it, if they want to grow big, he said sagely.
Felina suppressed the urge to snort in disbelief as they glided down to the sands, coming to a near-flawless landing. If there was anything the big brown could do well with his oversized wings, it was bring himself to a stop without jarring any passengers. Still seething inside, the brownrider thanked her guide, if a little curtly, and hopped nimbly down to the sand.
Almost as soon as the thought of possible relaxation popped into her head, though, Terror and Happy came from between, the latter chattering angrily at the former, a pair of blue and bronze streaks as they darted around arguing. So much for a vacation. Smiling halfheartedly at the other girl there, Felina gave up all hope indeed of a nice day. At least you'll have a pleasant time, she remarked sourly, glaring at Bree who was already stretched out on the beach, determined to take in as much sun as he possibly could. The loveable lump of a dragon.
"Sorry they're so loud. If the blue tries to land in your hair, just throw some sand at him or something. Should discourage the little bugger, otherwise you might lose a bit of it." Well it was only fair to give the girl warning. Poor little weyrling, stuck on a beach with a brown dragon who never could be described as particularly smart (though 'pretty' was another matter entirely), two very excited fire lizards, and the ugliest woman in the weyr.
The girl would be traumatized by the experience, undoubtedly.
