Ravyna rolled her eyes and gave M'kel a lopsided grin. "Oh, it's been beaten home, the challenges of living in a Weyr with runners. My goal right now is just to get her out of the sharding tunnel in one piece, believe me."
The girl knew when the bronze had drifted away from the rocky entrance, for both runners visibly relaxed a bit. She stroked Vision soothingly. "There you go, my lass, no one's going to eat you. Your new friend M'kel here will spread the word that you two are not dragon-lunch." She raised a brow toward the bronzerider and smiled. "You will, won't you?" she asked in a whisper, surprising herself that her good humor was being restored this quickly aftre having taken a trouncing.
Perhaps it was simply the ludicrous task of moving her own beasts into the Weyr, and the fact that she'd never considered what the presence of giant predators would do to their emotional stability. How stupid could she have been?
Ah, well, she'd always been better at laughing at her own humanity than at the stupidity of others, after all.
"Yes, please," she responded at his mention of the Beastmaster. "An introduction would be most helpful."
