B'raun gazed forth from the back of the massive Klazariath at the lightening, star-strewn sky. It was the day after B'raun had jumped forward in time and settled in the volcanic crater on an island off the Southern continent's coast. He was one of the first riders to make the leap after Sitareh so he had been assigned the duty of scouting out the general area's resources and venturing Northwards along the shoreline.
At that moment Klazariath was spiralling downwards for a break in a large sandy cove. Once his dragon settled lightly on the beach, B'raun unstrapped the leather bindings and leapt off of his friend. He spread out a sheet of parchment he had taken with him and lay it out on a large, flat-faced rock. He took out a feather quill and an ink jar and slipped off the lid. He dipped the quill tip in and started scratching marks on an all ready roughly sketched drawing of the coastline he had just been following. It was his job to identify the areas rich in resources that could be manufactured for the Weyr with easy accessibility. As B'raun filled in some spaces on the map, he was startled by the huge roar of a large body entering the ocean behind him. He turned abruptly only to see the tip of Klazariath's tail slip into the bubbling sea. He smiled broadly at his friend's antics.
Won't you join me? B'raun smirked as he heard his dragon's thoughts echo in his mind. B'raun looked over at the map layed out on the stone. I'm afraid I still have a lot of work left to do, B'raun mentally replied. Klazariath's head broke through the surface of the water and his swirling eyes peered over at him.
If you insist, came his dragon's reply and the head receded back into the salty depths. B'raun chuckled to himself and settled back on the sandy beach before the stone and continued to sketch out the details in the map.
