[Unable to reply to this topic, so am modifying my post here to fit the correct format, *sorry for spacing*, and will include a sample post segment at the end.]
I'm applying for a special request on the following charrie-ap due to the fact that the character is a bronze rider, has history with others at Araelen, and has a brown firelizard (details below). I've decided to enter this application because there aren't many riders RPing at Araelen yet, and because the character has the potential of causing some fun trouble. :-)
Character Name: B'kay
Age: (candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 22): 27
Gender: M
Current Position: Bronze rider
Segment of original app pertinent to the special request: When the Junior Weyrwoman vanished one day, along with several other riders, and then others began disappearing in small and scattered groups, B'kay, the 'uninvited', sought answers to this mystery without confiding in anyone else. Finally, he had his firelizard, brown Griz, follow behind a group of 'travelers' that the flitt had stumbled across and, unseen, he tracked them not only to a new place – but a new time far in Pern's future.
Griz returned, brought back exciting and intriguing images, and B'kay and Syth made plans to follow....
Dragon Colour: (if applicable): a very dark, black-shaded Bronze
Dragon's Name: (if applicable): Syth
Special Requests Application reason: (if applicable): bronze rider, history with other riders at Araelen, and a firelizard pet

Sample post:
B'kay waited impatiently, leaning against the dark, gleaming leg of his bronze.
The little one will return -- Syth began, but halted at the exhasperated sigh of his rider.
"If I sent that little idiot to his death--"
He is smarter than you give credit for, he will return.
As if on cue, a brown firelizard burst from Between, squawking angrily, and landed on B'kay's shoulder with fiercely grasping claws. His hide was cold as ice, and the impressions he blasted into his human's mind could have blown in off a glacier.
"Easy, you!" B'kay soothed, scowling, and stroked the little brown. "Slow down, Griz! You're not making any sense!"
Eyes swirling orange-red, the firelizard's opinion of that thought seared B'kay with aggravation, and Griz began to repeat the images more slowly.
A Weyr on an island off the coast, the land inland dotted with holds and farms and fields of hazardously growing crops and grains. Then, fear touched B'kay through the flitt's connection as an image of the Red Star, glaring balefully on the horizon, ended the relay.
The flitt snorted and nipped at his human's ear, but B'kay, lost in thought, paid no attention. Absently, he reached into his beltpouch and produced a bit of dried wherry, a treat he often used for training rewards, and handed it to Griz, who gobbled it greedily.
The Red Star ... and its position and brightness indicated not the fading apparition he'd grown to know, but the approach of a Pass.
B'kay stood suddenly, upsetting Griz, who clung to hair and tunic, screeching angrily, to prevent a fall. He spun to Syth, stared at the dragon for a moment.
Syth stared back, eyes swirling with golden curiosity in his near-black face. The bronze and gold highlights in his dark hide glistened as he turned to face his rider more fully, and the lowering sun caught them and flared them into a blazing orange.
"Time," he said quietly, then flashed the dragon a feral grin. "Pack your bags, my Only, we're going on a trip."
I have no bags, but you know I'm as ready for an adventure as you are. With only greens and no Thread to chase, life has become ... mundane.
B'kay turned toward the inner sections of his Weyr, already planning what would be tossed into his satchel. "It's about to get interesting."
Curious excitement brightened the eyes to match the sun-glazed hide, as the dragon watched the shadows envelop his rider.
