Special Request Application:
Status Being Applied For: Six Firelizards (1 gold (Caliden), 1 bronze (Laidon), 2 browns (Malt and Milz), 1 green (Lethe), 1 blue (Sagitta). A bit of a collector, no?) and Bounty Hunter
Reason For Wanting this Status: Delano has the flitts for his business and for comfort. He isn’t close to anyone, so he resides in his creatures for support.
Sample Post:
The older man clasped and unclasped his hands. He was nervous, Delano could easily conclude this. He’d been around plenty of wealthy men, usually lord holders, that had nothing better to do than spend their fortunes on hiring someone, such as himself, to eliminate their competition and ensure their status in society. These politics didn’t bother Delano. He was quite content about the constant warring between holder since his pockets were always heavy by the end of the day.
The man across from Delano opened his mouth, his eyes screwed shut, preparing to address him. Delano shifted in his chair, seemingly bored by this meeting. Slowly, in a hesitant voice, the man finally spoke. “I’m not usually put in such an awkward position. You see, well you probably don’t, but I’m sure you’ve been…-“
“Sir, I do not appreciate these petty conversations that you attempt to make in your insecurity. So, to make things simpler, you could tell me the target, how you wish the death to take place, and then I will calculate my price.”
The holder looked at him closely, examining his options. Slowly, he leaned forward, greed seeming to gush out of his pores. “Yes, yes that seems right…” An almost mad look crossed his face as a plan began to unravel in his mind.
Business as usual, Delano thought as he sat, idly toying with the straps on his rapier’s scabbard. The power-hungry holder continued to spew his glorious plan of eliminating his adversary and reassuring himself that actions must be taken to save his people from certain death if this person remained alive. Delano knew protecting the people had nothing to do with it. He was used to this by now to realize how power manipulated all those within reach of it.
After the holder had been assured the target would be taken out without a trace, and a hefty wage had been agreed to, Delano left the hold and ventured into the forest. He made his way through the dense foliage until the fortress was no longer in sight.
Delano reached out with his mind, searching patiently until he made contact. In seconds a bronze firelizard appeared in midair in front of Delano and alighted on his shoulder. He stroked the animal’s neck affectionately and it purred in response.
Now, little one, I need you to watch someone for me. The firelizard chirped in acknowledgement. This wasn’t the first time he’d been asked to do this. After the request was made, Delano extracted a pouch from his jerkin and untied the strings that bound it shut. He pulled out a small, dried silver fish and tossed it to the bronze. It caught it and swallowed it within seconds, humming with content.
