Status Being Applied For: Bronze Rider
Reason for Wanting this Status: M’kel is ambitious and strong minded. He is intelligent and cunning, the perfect qualities for a bronzerider. There is no weakness in him when it comes to standing up to others, and he will defend himself readily in a fight. At the same time, he is not overly aggressive and spontaneous, generally choosing to coolly examine a situation before reacting. His ‘tough’ qualities, as well as his analytical mind, make him perfect for Impressing a bronze. I would also like the chance to rp a bronzerider’s character, as he will be an active member of the Weyr and a controversial/dramatic possible Weyrleader.

Sample Post, including this Status: M’kel strode confidently about his new weyr, scuffing at a drift of sand here, dragging a finger along a dusty surface there. Tirenth conducted his own meticulous inspection, snuffling disconcertedly at a dry depression carved by water in the floor of the cave that would serve as his bed. The sceptically whirling eyes he raised to look at his rider caused M’kel to chuckle fondly and abandon his scrutiny to approach his dragon and scratch the eye ridges reassuringly. “I know, it’s not nearly as clean and comfortable as our last weyr, but this one has never been lived in. These carvings are purely natural. They’ll become smoother with time.” He crouched to examine the texture of the floor depression, confident that Tirenth’s hard scales would protect him from the worst of its initial rub.
It is bigger, the bronze allowed, swinging his massive head to emphasize the height of the ceiling far higher than he could reach. M’kel grinned and straightened, popping briefly into the smaller cavern off the main weyr where his own bed would be established once Tirenth was unburdened of his packages.
“Yes, it certainly is, my friend. Much more suitable for a bronze dragon and his rider.” The slightly bitter note in M’kel’s voice at their previous, inadequate housing in the old Weyr that hadn’t valued them nearly as much as it should, was emphasized by the whirling agreement in the bronze’s eyes. M’kel stood for a moment, reflecting on their sudden change in status. No longer the most junior of bronze pairs, they had leaped through the ranks of power in their immediate and loudly declared decision to join the Junior Weyrwoman in jumping forward in time. A sudden thought entered his mind, and M’kel grinned cheerfully again. “Besides, it’s not like we’ll be staying here long. Soon we’ll be in the Weyrleaders’ weyr, then no one will have a larger bed than you. Of course, you will have to share it.”
I wouldn’t mind sharing it with Aviciath. M’kel laughed, buoyed by his own as well as his dragon’s confidence in their abilities. The young queen would rise soon, and Tirenth would catch her. Things were playing out entirely according to plan.
