T'ryis was feeling quite proud of himself, in a foggy sort of way, as he managed to maintain a sitting position despite the weakness that still permeated his limbs. That is, until he realized he wasn't doing it on his own; there was an arm wrapped around his shoulders, and a body pressed near. He gave a mental groan at the realization. This expedition was turning out far worse than he ever could have expected; for Ravyna to have to support him like this, to see him like such a wherry… He was about ready to crawl into a hole and die.
Moments later, however, a new thought took hold, as his mind continued to clear. Perhaps he was looking at all of this the wrong way. Why was he so loathe to have Ravyna close? Sure, the scenario leading up to it was more than a little embarrassing. But the end result didn't have to be all bad.
Suddenly more aware of sensation, as if the whole world had become sharper, he felt the air brush his ear as she spoke. "It's not bleeding," he replied slowly to her inquiry. Every moment seemed to linger now, as her arm remained around him, and T'ryis worked hard to keep his eyes fixed straight ahead. "No, there's no need to call the Healers. Really, I'm feeling much better. Just a few more moments, and I'll…"
His speech faded away, as warmth bloomed along the side of his head and swept through him like a wave. The action had been quick and light, but the effects of her kiss were immediate and extreme. His heart began to pound faster in his chest, and the queasiness in his gut was replaced by fluttering. He had never…she had never…no girl had ever…
It was exhilarating and terrifying all at once, as T'ryis remained frozen to the spot. Adept in the most important areas of the social world, as he'd viewed them, T'ryis could be an expert diplomat, negotiator, and decision-maker. But when it came down to the things that really mattered, as he'd now realized, he was as lost as the newest Hatched dragonet.
"I…" he said slowly, daring not to look at her. "I really am all right." He paused for a long time, not sure what to do or say, until finally he blurted out, "Would you like to continue our ride, if I haven't ruined the day?"
