Kagairo listens closely, nodding in response to the instructions, but replying, "No..." to the question on to if she's flown on a dragon before. Obeying the rider, she grabs her hand and steps carefully onto the green's foreleg, not wanting to lose her balance and fall. She then concentrates on pulling herself onto the dragon's back.
The blue flit, on the other hand, was sulking, not being able to believe he was called 'small' by a green. A green! If either of them was small, it was her, not him. Tyran lands grudgingly on Kagairo's shoulder, not taking into consideration the fact that this would be impossible if he really were a dragon.
"Yes, do calm down. You've made your point, okay? Sheesh." Kagairo had only turned her attention from her attempts to mount the green long enough to make this statement, deciding to stall further outbursts. Telling him he'd made his point would get him to at least stop long enough for them to reach the Weyr, hopefully.

(( *pokes* You kinda used present tense a bit. ;D ))
Kmarath rumbled in amusement, sticking her foreleg out far enough for a candidate to not be worried. She was getting the hang of this Searchriding business. So many candidates were scared to death when it came to riding for the first time, and mounting also seemed nerve-wracking to some. Robika helped her up, steadying the girl with her arms into the space behind her.
Padma scolded Tyran for acting like a hatchling. What would the dragons think of him if he were to act this way at the Weyr? Emanor gave Tyran a dirty look- she just didn't like him. Her large eyes were whirling a mild red-orange, but Padma's patience proved to hold through. Giving Tyran a stern cheep, she pushed off of Robika shoulder, winking between. Emanor followed quickly, not liking the feeling when it was someone else who carried them between.
"All right, you ready?" Robika asked the girl cheerfully. She gave the signal, and Kmarath lifted off. Rising high into the air, she ascended for a good position to go between. Robika turned back to Kagairo, grinning. "All right, we're gonna go between. You can grab onto me if you need to, but it'll only last as long as coughing three times. You won't feel any sensation except cold, but, as I said, it's short. Ready?"

OOC: I used present tense for that post because I usually role play in present tense; it's habit. I was trying to role play past tense here because everyone else does, but if I'm not paying attention I fall back into present tense.
IC: After getting settled on the back of the dragon, Kagairo glanced again at her flit, and, having seen that he was resigned to sitting on her shoulder silently, pointedly ignoring Padma, she looked forward, started to respond to the questions with a nod, then realized that it was better if she answer out loud. Her response to all three was simply, "Yes."
Mostly she was preparing herself for the trip; between was supposed to be extremely cold and she was bracing herself the best she could. Tyran, on the other hand, evidently couldn't care less about the temperature of between; he still looked a little sulky, but didn't seem bothered by the imminent trip. But then, he went between all the time.
Her attention switched to below her as the dragon took off, her gaze following the Hold as it got smaller. The view from above was quite amazing, definitely different than from the ground, which was getting smaller until the dragon reached a comfortable height. At least, that was the only explanation she could come up with, and it was reinforced by the rider's statement that they were going to go between.

With that, Robika gave the signal, and Kmarath winked between. The sudden lack of cold and frigid temperature was something Robika could never be truly comfortable with, but something she could definitely accept. It wasn't as horrible as the experience had been when they leapt forward, but there was always the prickle of uncomfort that between gave whenever she remembered the jump when between.
Fortunately, this trip was a short when. When they emerged back into the sun, Robika turned to look back at Kagairo to see how the new candidate fared. "How was that for a trip?" she asked with a grin. "Something you could get used to doing on a regular basis?" Winking, she turned back forward, looking down at the Weyr below.
"This is Araelen- your new home!" she announced happily, Kmarath rumbled cheerfully, now veering downwards. The descent could be scary for new candidates, but Robika absolutely loved the feeling of going down into the familiar Weyrbowl a-dragonback. Sighing dreamily as the air whipped at their faces, Kmarath hit the floor gracefully, already looking up to her weyrledge for a nice nap. Grinning, Robika slid off the green's back, holding a hand up to Kagairo to help her down.
