The Weyrleader took the klah from the dragonrider himself, placing it within Penna's questing fingers. He was relieved, for it would warm her inside and out, as well as help with clearing the last of the wine fog from her system. M'kel glanced at C'lyn once again, wondering if the Weyrhealer would be adding any medication to the klah. Surely this woman must need something after jumping so far between. It was remarkable that both dragon and rider had not only survived the flight, but appeared to be mostly unscathed. M'kel was no Harper, but he doubted that anyone had made such a leap in the history of Pern.
The bronzerider patted the woman's shoulder awkwardly, still supporting her in an upright position while she finished her klah. Afterward, he would help her to the necessary and on to a weyr. M'kel felt uncomfortable at the sight of the silent tears streaming down her cheeks, but he doubted that many would react with any greater calm after such an unexpected journey. Hopefully her dragon would be able to offer her better comfort.
Tirenth tilted his head to the side as Plianth relayed her message to him, and he passed this onto his rider before replying. There are currently three queens in this Weyr, but the population is still relatively low. There are numerous empty weyrs in various stages of construction. I'm not sure if there are any extra queen weyrs prepared, though... As he had included M'kel in this exchange, the bronze glanced questioningly at his rider to continue.
Clearing his throat hastily, for he did not want Penna to become hysterical again (and it did look like Plianth would not fit into any but a large weyr, which was usually reserved for queens), M'kel smiled charmingly at Penna before adding, "Don't you worry. We have numerous large weyrs that are currently occupied by bronzes. I am sure that one would gladly give up his weyr for you and your lovely Plianth. And there is always room for another queen, especially one who is so..." Gargantuan? Rotund? Double-chinned? "...young." M'kel really couldn't tell her age, but any queen still in her fertility years was a welcome addition to a Weyr, so that part was at least true.
"And I suppose you would be our new Jr. Weyrwoman, if you chose to stay, for you are both Sr. to the current Weyrling golds." That ought to cheer her up!
