Sidhka! NO!
The green appeared beside Mariya and the bowl before she could react, and so she didn't. She just sat there quietly, holding the bowl and not moving, and scarcely breathing, for fear of scaring the obviously very hungry flitter away. She listened with a half ear to the protests from his owner. "Sidhka, now that's a pretty name for such a pretty animal," she said quietly after a few bites were quickly swallowed.

Iraink glanced at the girl for only a second, as his eyes zoomed in on his only friend beginning to eat the foul poison of the thread-droppers. He released a guttural shriek and leaped towards the flitter. Rather than grabbing her and pushing the bowl away from her as his goal had been, the boy succeeded in simply landing flat on his face.
This, fortunately in his mind, distracted the hungry flitter from her munchings. The boy who fed her was in pain, and for some odd reason, that mattered to the flighty creaure. She made one of her loud squawking noises and landed on the back of his skull, digging her claws into his head as he whimpered in pain.
