MONTH OF FUN
This year's Month of Fun will be full of excitement, thrills, and prizes!
Just what is a Month of Fun, you ask?
Why, it's 31 days of hilarity and creativity! Each week will have a theme, and all members should try to style their posts according to that theme. In other words, you will write your posts in the style posted for that time period. If you have a thread that runs the duration of the month, you will be able to chronicle a very amusing shift through all four themes!
Do you have to participate? By all means, no. If you have a thread that is extremely plot-oriented, and you feel that posting according to the theme weeks would negatively impact it somehow, don't worry about it! We do encourage you to attempt the themes as much as possible, however.
Plus, there are incentives!
But let's get to the actual themes first.
July 31 - August 3 - Mini Theme ~ Bad Accent Week
August 4 - 10 - Medieval Week
August 11 - 17 - Soap Opera Week
August 18 - 24 - Romance Novel Week
August 25 - 31 - Comic Book Week
Woot! This is gonna be fun!
If you need a little more explanation on the themes…
Bad Accent Week - Each of your characters will suddenly develop a very exaggerated accent of your choice. For example: Jamaican, French, Western, Gangster, etc.
Medieval Week - Thou art too kind, good sir, to dote on me in such a manner. A poet could ne'er scribe as eloquently as thou speak.
Soap Opera Week - The crowd ebbed and flowed about her at a dizzying pace, while the young lady gazed forlornly past the stalls in hopes of seeing him. Oh, she needed him to be here, so desperately! Her heart ached with worry and fright; had he forgotten about her? Had he chosen not to come? But look! There he was, striding towards her, and her heart bloomed with delight. "Where would you like me to set these bubbly pies, ma'am?" "Right here!" she gasped, awash with relief, as the tray was settled before her.
Romance Novel Week - Sweat glistened on his bare chest as he sat upon his dragon, riding the skies like a ship glides upon the sea. The dragon swerved, drifting towards the ground below, and they landed with a soft thud. This thud was echoed within the heart of the man, whose eyes immediately sought the waiting girl. They were dark eyes, like melted pools of chocolate, and they pulsed with emotion as he dismounted gracefully from his dragon's back, muscles rippling with strength and power.
Comic Book Week - (I wish I could remember the example Shikai typed…it was so much better)
BAM! The Weyrling stumbled over a bench. It was dark in the Lower Caverns, and he had a mission. Be careful mine! urged his dragon. You don't want…
"AHA!" The Headwoman burst into the room, dress billowing about her. "I knew I'd catch you, you fiend!"
GASP! The Weyrling leaped into the air, spinning about. Foiled again!

Now, to the prizes!
We don't want to get too complicated with voting and such this year, sooo, we're limiting the prizes to:
Best in Show - At the end of the month, vote for whoever you thought did best overall throughout the competition. Please try to pick someone who participated in each or most of the weeks and did quite well in all of them, rather than someone who did very well in one week and not well in others.
Best Post - This is your chance to vote for your favourite of the month! You don't need to recall an actual post that was your favourite; vote for whoever wrote the funniest post that was also truest to the theme. Some are sure to strike you as quite good during the month, so keep their writers in mind, and pick one at the end!
The winners will each receive a fire lizard egg. Woot!
Finally, have FUN! That is the point of the Month of Fun! XD

Sadly, the Month of Fun has come to a close. We had a great level of participation this time around and a lot of hilarious posts!
Now it's time to celebrate those who did an exceptional job!
As mentioned before, there are two categories:
Best in Show and Best Post!
So please pick one member for each category and send your votes to M'kel. You cannot vote for yourself; this is a time to recognize the accomplishments of others! Be sure to specify WHICH category you are voting for with each member. Also, everyone can vote, even if you didn't participate in the Month of Fun.
Please have your votes in by September 15th, at which point the winners will be announced and prizes awarded. Everyone did a great job, and there sure are a lot of worthy contenders!

There were no votes, and thus no winners! But, this Month of Fun was *ahem* fun nonetheless!
